Background:The use of adjunct rasagiline in levodopa-treated patients with Parkinson’s disease and motor fluctuations is supported by findings from large-scale clinical *** study is to investigate the efficacy and safety of adjunct rasagiline in Chinese patients with Parkinson’s disease,as a product registration ***:This 16-week,randomized,double-blind,parallel-group,multicenter,placebo-controlled study of rasagiline 1 mg/day included levodopa-treated patients with Parkinson’s disease and motor *** primary efficacy endpoint was mean change from baseline in total daily OFF time over 16 *** endpoints were Clinical Global Impressions–Improvement(CGI-I),and change in Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale(UPDRS)Activities of daily living(ADL)and Motor *** well-being(EQ-5D),and the frequency of adverse events were also ***:In total,324 levodopa-treated patients were randomized to rasagiline 1 mg/day(n=165)or placebo(n=159).Over 16 weeks,rasagiline statistically significantly reduced the mean[95% confidence interval]total daily OFF time versus placebo(−0.5 h[−0.92,−0.07];p=0.023).There were also statistically significant improvements versus placebo in CGI-I(−0.4 points[−0.61,−0.22];p<0.001),UPDRS-ADL OFF(−1.0 points[−1.75,−0.27];p=0.008),and UPDRS-Motor ON(−1.6 points[−3.05,−0.14];p=0.032)scores,as well as the EQ-5D utility index(p<0.05).Rasagiline was safe and well ***:In levodopa-treated Chinese patients with Parkinson’s disease and motor fluctuations,adjunct rasagiline 1 mg/day statistically significantly reduced OFF time,and improved daily function and overall well-being,versus *** with findings in other countries,adjunct rasagiline was proven efficacious and well tolerated in Chinese patients.

Heat-killed Lactobacillus paracasei JY56 can relieve ovalbumin-induced food allergy via regulating immuno-inflammatory responses and gut microbiota

Food allergy (FA) is an aberrant immune response triggered by the ingestion of a food antigen. Ovalbumin (OVA)-sensitized and challenged BALB/c mice were orally administered heat-killed (HK)-L. paracasei JY56. In this work， HK-L. paracasei JY56 alleviated the FA-induced decrease in body weight and rectal temperature and reduced the allergy score. Serum analysis showed that HK-L. paracasei JY56 reduced the levels of specific antibodies (OVA-sIgE and OVA-sIgG) and allergic mediators (histamine and mast cell protease) in FA mice. In addition， HK-L. paracasei JY56 also could alleviate OVA-induced FA by suppressing Th2 and Th17-type immune responses， which was evidenced by the regulation of splenic lymphocyte subpopulations and associated cytokine secretion. Moreover， jejunal histological analysis and intestinal barrier function related gene expression measurement were performed to verify the intestinal barrier repair of HK-L. paracasei JY56. Meanwhile， the TLR4/NF-κB inflammatory pathway activation was inhibited by HK-L. paracasei JY56 at gene and protein levels. Finally， HK-L. paracasei JY56 was performed to modulate the gut microbiota structure and increase the levels of short-chain fatty acids. In conclusion， HK-L. paracasei JY56 could alleviate OVA-induced FA in multiple ways， and this study provides a theoretical basis for the application of inactivated probiotics in functional foods for FA.

Vibration analysis of hard-coated composite beam considering the strain dependent characteristic of coating material

The strain dependent characteristics of hard coatings make the vibration analysis of hard-coated composite structure become a challenging task. In this study, the modeling and the analysis method of a hard-coated composite beam was developed considering the strain dependent characteristics of coating material. Firstly, based on analyzing the properties of hard-coating material, a high order polynomial was adopted to characterize the strain dependent characteristics of coating materials. Then, the analytical model of a hard-coated composite beam was created by the energy method. Next, using the numerical method to solve the vibration response and the resonance frequencies of the composite beam, a specific calculation flow was also proposed. Finally,a cantilever beam coated with Mg O ＋ Al2_O_3 hard coating was chosen as the study case; under different excitation levels, the resonance region responses and the resonance frequencies of the composite beam were calculated using the proposed method. The calculation results were compared with the experiment and the linear calculation, and the correctness of the created model was verified. The study shows that compared with the general linear calculation, the proposed method can still maintain an acceptable precision when the excitation level is larger.

Investigation of rotor control system loads

This paper concentrates on the aeroelasticity analysis of rotor blade and rotor control systems. A new multi-body dynamics model is established to predict both rotor pitch link loads and swashplate servo loads. Two helicopter rotors of UH-60A and SA349/2, both operating in two critical flight conditions, high-speed flight and high-thrust flight, are studied. The analysis shows good agreements with the flight test data and the calculation results using CAMRAD II. The mechanisms of rotor control loads are then analyzed in details based on the present predictions and the flight test data. In high-speed conditions, the pitch link loads are dominated by the integral of blade pitching moments, which are generated by cyclic pitch control. In high-thrust conditions, the positive pitching loads in the advancing side are caused by high collective pitch angle, and dynamic stall in the retreating side excites high-frequency responses. The swashplate servo loads are predominated by the rotor pitch link loads, and the inertia of the swashplate has significant effects on high-frequency harmonics of the servo loads.

By constructing two independent actor-critic architectures,the deep deterministic policy gradient(DDPG) method is proposed to determine the desired heading and speed command for each USV.

A classification system for tableting behaviors of binary powder mixtures

The ability to predict tableting properties of a powder mixture from individual components is of both fundamental and practical importance to the efficient formulation development of tablet products. A common tableting classification system(TCS) of binary powder mixtures facilitates the systematic development of new knowledge in this direction. Based on the dependence of tablet tensile strength on weight fraction in a binary mixture,three main types of tableting behavior are identified. Each type is further divided to arrive at a total of 15 sub-classes. The proposed classification system lays a framework for a better understanding of powder interactions during compaction. Potential applications and limitations of this classification system are discussed.

Current progress toward eradicating Helicobacter pylori in East Asian countries: Differences in the 2013 revised guidelines between China, Japan, and South Korea

New 2013 guidelines on Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) infection have been published in China, Japan, and South Korea. Like the previous ones, these new guidelines differ between the three countries with regard to the indications for H. pylori eradication, diagnostic methods, and treatment regimens. The most profound change among all of the guidelines is that the Japanese national health insurance system now covers the expenses for all infected subjects up to second-line treatment. This makes the Japanese indications for eradication much wider than those in China and South Korea. With regard to the diagnosis, a serum H. pylori antibody test is not recommended in China, whereas it is considered to be the most reliable method in Japan. A decrease relative to the initial antibody titer of more than 50% after 6-12 mo is considered to be the most accurate method for determining successful eradication in Japan. In contrast, only the urea breath test is recommended after eradication in China, while either noninvasive or invasive methods(except the bacterial culture) are recommended in South Korea. Due to the increased rate of antibiotics resistance, first-line treatment is omitted in China and South Korea in cases of clarithromycin resistance. Notably, the Japanese regimen consists of a lower dose of antibiotics for a shorter duration(7 d) than in the other countries. There is neither 14 d nor bismuth-based regimen in the first-line and second-line treatment in Japan. Such differences among countries might be due to differences in the approvals granted by the governments and national health insurance system in each country. Further studies are required to achieve the best results in the diagnosis and treatment of H. pylori infection based on cost-effectiveness in East Asian countries.

Aerodynamics of Ascending Flight in Fruit Flies

As a very basic flight mode, ascending flight is obviously of great importance to all kinds of manmade and natural fliers. Yet, for the most commonly seen fliers - insects, researches on this flight mode are rare. In this paper, we combined both experimental measurements and numerical simulations to investigate the kinematical characteristics, aerodynamic performance and power requirement of ascending flight in fruit flies （Drosophila virilis）. The flies ascend at an advance ratio of about 0.12. The most significant characteristic of ascending flight is larger stroke amplitude compared to hovering, while the other kinematics is very similar. From an aerodynamics point of view, this increased stroke amplitude is needed to overcome the negative effects of＂downwash flow＂, caused by the upward motion of the fly. Same as hovering, the ascending fruit flies utilize delayed stall and fast pitching-up mechanisms to generate the majority of the lift required for balancing the weight and body drag. By using a larger stroke-amplitude to overcome the negative effects of＂downwash flow＂, larger energy cost （about 20%） than that of equivalent hovering is required.

Structural adaptive and optimal speckle filtering in multilook full polarimetric SAR images

A novel approach is proposed for speckle reduction in multilook full polarimetric SAR images. In contrast to others, this approach adopts an enhanced structure detection method to estimate the parameters of the polarimetric covariance matrix for the multilook polarimetric whitening filtering （MPWF） algorithm and thus a structural adaptive and optimal speckle filter is developed. To evaluate the present approach, NASA SIR-C/X- SAR, L band, four-look processed polarimetric SAR data of the Tian-Mountain Forest is used for simulation. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of this novel filtering algorithm in case of both speckle reduction and preservation of texture information. Comparisons with other methods are also made.
