Effect of the interleukin 10 polymorphisms on interleukin 10 production and visceral hypersensitivity in Chinese patients with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome

Background:Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS),a functional gastrointestinal disorder,is characterized by cytokine ***,decreased plasma interleukin 10 (IL-10) level was reported in patients with IBS,which may be due to genetic ***,there are no reports correlating the IL-10 polymorphisms with IL-10 production in patients with *** study aimed to analyze the effect of IL-10 polymorphisms on IL-10 production and its correlation with the clinical symptoms in Chinese patients with diarrhea-predominant IBS (IBS-D).Methods:Two IL-10 single nucleotide polymorphisms (rs1800871 and rs1800896) were detected in 120 patients with IBS-D and 144 healthy controls (HC) using *** symptom severity score,Bristol scale,hospital anxiety,and depressive scale (HADS) were used to evaluate the clinical symptoms,as well as the psychological status and visceral sensitivity of the ***-10 levels in the plasma and peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) culture supernatant were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,while those in ileal and colonic mucosal biopsies were measured using ***:The frequency of rs1800896 C allele was significantly lower in the patients with IBS-D than that in the HC (odds ratio:0.49,95% confidence interval:0.27-0.92,P =0.0240).The IL-10 levels in the plasma (P =0.0030) and PBMC culture supernatant (P =0.0500) of the CT genotype subjects were significantly higher than those in the TT genotype *** CT genotype subjects exhibited a higher pain threshold in the rectal distention test than the TT genotype ***,IL-10 rs1800871 GG genotype subjects showed an increase in the HADS score compared to other genotype ***:IL-10 rs1800896 C allele is correlated with higher IL-10 levels in the plasma and the PBMC culture supernatant,which is associated with a higher pain threshold in the Chinese patients with *** study provides an explicit relationship of

Transmission of extensively drug-resistant and multidrug resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis in families identified by genotyping

Background Diagnosis and appropriate treatment of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis （MDR-TB） remain major challenges. We sought to elucidate that persons who share a household with drug resistance tuberculosis patients are at high risk for primary drug resistance tuberculosis and how to prevent these outbreaks. Methods We used 12-locus mycobactedal interspersed repetitive unit and 7-locus variable-number tandem repeat to identify household transmission of extensively drug resistant and multiple drug resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis in three families admitted in Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital affiliated with Tongji University. Drug susceptibility tests were done by the modified proportion method in the MGIT 960 system in the same time. Clinical data were also obtained from the subjects＇ medical records. Results All of the six strains were defined as Beijing genotype by the deletion-targeted multiplex PCR （DTM-PCR） identification on the genomic deletion RD105. Strains from family-1 had the same minisatellite interspersed repetitive unit （MIRU） pattern （232225172531） and the same MIRU pattern （3677235）. Strains from family-2 had the same MIRU pattern （2212261553323） and the same MIRU pattern （3685134）. Strains from family-3 did not have the same MIRU pattern and they differed at only one locus （223326173533, 223325173533）, and did not have the same VNTR pattern with two locus differed （3667233, 3677234）. Conclusions Household transmission exists in the three families. A clear chain of tuberculosis transmission within family exists. Tuberculosis susceptibility should be considered when there is more than one tuberculosis patients in a familv. Household tuberculosis transmission could be prevented with adequate treatment of source Patients.

Nutritional evaluation of different cultivars of potatoes(Solanum tuberosum L.) from China by grey relational analysis(GRA) and its application in potato steamed bread making

Chemical composition(moisture,protein,starch,ash,fiber,fat),vitamins(vitamin C,vitamin B1,vitamin B2),total polyphenol content,antioxidant capacity,minerals,and amino acid of 14 potato cultivars in China were *** results indicated that all parameters varied significantly among different potato *** total starch,crude protein and fat content ranged between 57.42–67.83%,10.88–14.10% and 0.10–0.73% dry weight(DW),***,the consumption of potato increased remarkably the dietary intake of vitamins,K,Mn and *** addition,the chemical score of amino acid varied considerably between different cultivars,which ranged from 54(Neida 3 and Neida 41) to 71(Neida 34).Grey relational analysis(GRA) indicated that Neida 26 exhibited the most comprehensive nutritional values among potato cultivars,followed by Neida *** potato flours had a significant effect on the quality parameters of potato steamed bread(PSB),Neida 26 and Neida 34 were more suitable for making PSB.

Objective This study was designed to conduct a retrospective and systematic occupational health risk assessment(OHRA)of enterprises that used benzene,toluene,and xylene(BTX)in Shanghai,*** All data for the study were obtained from 1,705 occupational health examination and evaluation reports from 2013 to 2017,and a semiquantitative model following Chinese OHRA guidelines(GBZ/T 298-2017)was applied for the *** The selected enterprises using BTX were mainly involved in manufacturing of *** the exposure level method,health risk levels associated with exposure to BTX were classified as medium,negligible,or ***,the risk levels associated with benzene and toluene were significantly different according to job types,with gluers and inkers exhibiting greater health *** the same job type,the health risk levels assessed using the comprehensive index method were higher than those using the exposure level *** Our OHRA reveals that workers who are exposed to BTX still face excessive health ***,the risk level varied depending on job categories and exposure to specific ***,additional control measures recommended by OHRA guidelines are essential to reduce worker exposure levels.

Wheat grain yield is generally sink-limited during grain *** grain-filling rate(GFR)plays a vital role but is poorly studied due to the difficulty of phenotype *** study explored the grain-filling traits in a recombinant inbred population and wheat collection using two highly saturated genetic maps for linkage analysis and genome-wide association study(GWAS).Seventeen stable additive quantitative trait loci(QTLs)were identified on chromosomes 1B,4B,and *** linkage interval between IWB19555 and IWB56078 showed pleiotropic effects on GFR_(1),GFR_(max),kernel length(KL),kernel width(KW),kernel thickness(KT),and thousand kernel weight(TKW),with the phenotypic variation explained(PVE)ranging from 13.38%(KW)to 33.69%(TKW).198 significant marker-trait associations(MTAs)were distributed across most chromosomes except for 3D and *** major associated sites for GFR included IWB44469(11.27%),IWB8156(12.56%)and IWB24812(14.46%).Linkage analysis suggested that IWB35850,identified through GWAS,was located in approximately the same region as QGFR_(max)2B.3-11,where two high-confidence candidate genes were *** important grain weight(GW)-related QTLs colocalized with grain-filling *** findings contribute to understanding the genetic architecture of the GFR and provide a basic approach to predict candidate genes for grain yield trait QTLs.

Bismuth(Bi),as an alloy-based anode material,has attracted much atte ntion in the developme nt of sodiumion hybrid capacitors(SIHCs)due to its high theoretical ***,the volume expansion of the Bi-based anode during the sodiation/desodiation process results in limited rate *** the present work,a porous Bi-based composite was constructed by a one-step hydrothermal method,and Bi was encapsulated in ligninderived nitrogen-doped porous carbon(Bi@LNPC)after *** obtained Bi nanoparticles could effectively adapt to the strain and shorten the diffusion distance of Na^(+).In addition,porous carbon skeleton provides a rigid conductive network for electronic ***,the assembled sodium-ion half-cell with Bi@LNPC anode shows ultra-high-rate *** the current density was enhanced from 0.1 to 50 A·g^(-1),the specific capacity decreased slightly from 351.5 to 342.8 mAh·g^(-1).Even at an extremely high current density of 200 A·g^(-1),it retains 81.3%capacity retention when compared to a current density of 1 A·g^(-1).The SIHCs assembled by Bi@LNPC show a high energy density of 63 Wh·kg^(-1).This work provides an effective method for developing high-rate Bi anode materials for sodium-ion hybrid capacitors(SIHCs)and sodium-ion batteries(SIBs).

Cardiovascular computed tomography angiography(CTA)is a widely used imaging modality in the diagnosis of cardiovascular *** in CT imaging technology have further advanced its applications from high diagnostic value to minimising radiation exposure to *** addition to the standard application of assessing vascular lumen changes,CTA-derived applications including 3D printed personalised models,3D visualisations such as virtual endoscopy,virtual reality,augmented reality and mixed reality,as well as CT-derived hemodynamic flow analysis and fractional flow reserve(FFRCT)greatly enhance the diagnostic performance of CTA in cardiovascular *** widespread application of artificial intelligence in medicine also significantly contributes to the clinical value of CTA in cardiovascular *** value of CTA has extended from the initial diagnosis to identification of vulnerable lesions,and prediction of disease extent,hence improving patient care and *** this review article,as an active researcher in cardiovascular imaging for more than 20 years,I will provide an overview of cardiovascular CTA in cardiovascular *** is expected that this review will provide readers with an update of CTA applications,from the initial lumen assessment to recent developments utilising latest novel imaging and visualisation *** will serve as a useful resource for researchers and clinicians to judiciously use the cardiovascular CT in clinical practice.

Different responses of two adjacent artificial beaches to Typhoon Hato in Zhuhai,China

Major differences in beach erosion between two neighboring artificial beaches Xiangluwan Beach(XL beach)and Meiliwan Beach(ML beach)in Zhuhai,China,were studied after Super Typhoon *** this study,a fully nonlinear Boussinesq wave model(FUNWAVE)-Total Variation Diminishing(TVD)was used to distinguish the main impact factors,their relative contributions,and the hydrodynamic mechanisms underlying the different beach *** show that compared to the ML beach,the main reason for the relatively weak erosion on Xiangluwan(XL)beach was the smaller beach berm height(accounting for approximately 75.9%of the erosion response).Regarding the beach with a higher berm,the stronger wave-induced undertow flow,along with the higher sediment concentration,led to a higher offshore sediment transport flux,resulting in more severe erosion relative to the beach with a smaller berm *** second most important reason explaining the weak erosion on XL beach was the absence of seawalls(accounting for approximately 17.9%of the erosion response).Wave reflection induced by the seawall could cause higher suspended sediment concentration,resulting in a toe scouring near the *** offshore submerged breakwater protected XL beach slightly(accounting for approximately 6.1%of the erosion response).Due to the higher water level induced by storm surge,most of the wave energy could penetrate through the submerged *** effect of the larger berm width of XL beach was *** to the beach with a larger berm width,the erosion/deposition regions in the beach with a narrower berm width showed shoreward migration,without significant changes in the erosion/deposition *** of this,the larger berm width could reduce the wave energy reaching the *** study of the storm stability of artificial beaches may be applied to beach restoration design.
