AIM: To analyze the correlation between cytokineinduced killer (CIK) cells adoptive immunotherapy and cancer-related death in gastric cancer patients. METHODS: One hundred and fifty-six gastric cancer patients after operation at the Third Affiliated Hospital of soochow university were enrolled in this study. Their clinical data including demographic characteristics, operation time, tumor size, pathological type and staging, tumor metastasis, outcome of chemotherapy or CIK cells adoptive immunotherapy, survival time or time of death were collected with a standard structured questionnaire. Kaplan-Meier method was used to estimate the median survival time, and the 2- and 5- year survival rates. Hazard risk (HR) and 95% confidence interval (95% CI) of CIK cells adoptive immunotherapy for gastric cancer were calculated using the two-stage time-dependent covariates Cox model. RESULTS: The survival time of gastric cancer patients was longer after CIK cells adoptive immunotherapy than after chemotherapy (χ 2 = 10.907, P = 0.001). The median survival time of gastric cancer patients was also longer after CIK cells adoptive immunotherapy than after chemotherapy (49 mo vs 27 mo, P < 0.05). The 2- and 5-year survival rates of gastric cancer patients were significantly higher after CIK cells adoptive immunotherapy than after chemotherapy (73.5% vs 52.6%, 40.4% vs 23.9%, P < 0.05). A significant difference was observed in the survival curve for patients who received CIK cells adoptive immunotherapy (0, 1-10, 11-25, and over 25 frequencies) (χ 2 = 14.534, P = 0.002). The frequencies of CIK cells adoptive immunotherapy were significantly related with the decreasing risk of death in gastric cancer patients after adjustment for sex and age of the patients, tumor stage and relapse (HR = 0.54, 95% CI: 0.36-0.80) when the first stage Cox model was used to define the subjects who remained alive beyond 36 mo as survivors. Objective:Glioblastomas are highly vascularized malignant *** determined the efficacy and safety of the anti-angiogenic multi-kinase inhibitor,anlotinib,for a newly diagnosed ***:This multicenter,single-arm trial(NCT04119674)enrolled 33 treatment-naïve patients with histologically proven glioblastomas between March 2019 and November *** underwent treatment with the standard STUPP regimen[fractionated focal irradiation in daily fractions of 1.8-2 Gy given 5 d/w×6 w(total=54-60 Gy)]or radiotherapy plus continuous daily temozolomide(TMZ)(75 mg/m^(2)of body surface area/d,7 d/w from the first to the last day of radiotherapy),followed by 6 cycles of adjuvant TMZ(150-200 mg/m^(2)×5 d during each 28-d cycle)plus anlotinib(8 mg/d on d 1-14 of each 3-w cycle for 2 cycles during concomitant chemoradiotherapy,8 maximal cycles as adjuvant therapy,followed by maintenance at 8 mg/*** primary endpoint was progression-free survival(PFS).Secondary endpoints included overall survival(OS)and adverse events(AEs).Results:Thirty-three patients received the planned *** median PFS was 10.9 months(95%CI,9.9-18.7 months)and the 12-month PFS rate was 48.5%.The median OS was 17.4 months(95%CI,14.5-21.1 months)and the 12-month OS rate was 81.8%.The most common AEs included hypertriglyceridemia[58%(n=19)],hypoalbuminemia[46%(n=15)],and hypercholesterolemia[46%(n=15)]during concurrent chemoradiotherapy and leukopenia[73%(n=24)],hypertriglyceridemia[67%(n=22)],and neutropenia[52%(n=17)]during adjuvant *** patients discontinued treatment due to ***1(HR,5.6;95%CI,1.3-23.7;P=0.021)and RP1L1 alterations(HR,11.1;95%CI,2.2-57.2;P=0.004)were associated with a significantly shorter ***:Anlotinib plus the STUPP regimen has promising anti-tumor activity against glioblastoma and manageable ***1 and RP1L1 alterations might be novel predictive biomarkers of the response to anlotinib.

Gallbladder polypoid lesions: Current practices and future prospects

Gallbladder polypoid lesions (GPLs) refer to any elevated lesion of the mucosal surface of the gallbladder wall, and the prevalence is estimated to be between 0.9% and 12.1%. GPLs include benign polyps and malignant polyps. Benign polyps are further classified as non-neoplastic polyps and neoplastic polyps. Cholesterol polyps are the most common benign polyps and adenocarcinoma is the main type of malignant polyp. Hepatitis B virus infection, liver function abnormalities, dyslipidemia, and obesity are the main risk factors for GPLs. Studies of biological mechanisms have focused on malignant gallbladder polyps, the development of which is regulated by hormone levelsin vivo, gut microbiota, inflammation, oxidative stress,Salmonella typhimurium, and related molecules. Diagnostic modalities include chemical examination and imaging examination, with imaging examination currently being the mainstay. Treatment of patients with GPLs is based on the presence or absence of symptoms, age, size of the polyps, tendency of the polyp to increase, and risk factors for symptomatic malignancy to determine whether surgery should be performed.

Any Beltrami coefficient μ on a hyperbolic Riemann surface X of infinite type represents a point [μ]T in the Teichmüller space T (X) and a point [μ]B in the tangent space of T (X) at the base point as well.
