In this article, we prove that any complete finite index hypersurface in the hyperbolic space H4（-1）（H5（-1）） with constant mean curvature H satisfying H2 6634 （H2 114785 respectively） must be compact. Specially, we verify that any complete and stable hypersurface in the hyperbolic space H4（-1）（resp. H5（-1）） with constant mean curvature H satisfying H2 6643 （resp. H2 114785 ） must be compact. It shows that there is no manifold satisfying the conditions of some theorems in [7, 9].

Osteoarthritis(OA)represents an enduring and widespread global burden,causing significant morbidity and disability,whose pathology is characterized by persistent inflammation,progressive cartilage degeneration,ab-normal bone homeostasis,and excessive synovial hyperplasia,resulting from its complex ***,current therapeutic approaches for OA remain suboptimal,prompting increased interest in ad-vanced nanotechnology as a means to enhance therapeutic *** recent years,significant progress has been made in the development of versatile nanoplatforms designed to the specific microenvironment of OA,resulting in promising results and introducing the concept of“OA nanomedicine”.Compared to the conventional therapies like non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs),OA nanomedicine offers precise targeted,controllable and personalized ways for OA therapy,contributing to better ***,a comprehensive review consoli-dating the“OA nanomedicine”is currently absent from ***,in this review,we aim to unravel the key pathological and microenvironmental characteristics of OA while summarizing the properties and advantages of nanosystems possessing microenvironment-reprogramming capabilities for OA ***,we make a retro-spection of the features of OA pathology and OA ***,we provide an overview of the advances in OA ***,we discuss the present challenges associated with OA nanomedicine and provide insights into its future prospects from a clinical-translational *** doing so,this review can foster and propel the successful development of OA nanomedicine,addressing the unmet needs in OA therapy.

Amphotericin B（AmB） has been widely used in antifungal therapy. AraB molecules combine with cholesterol to form pores that can be toxic to human cells, thus greatly limiting its clinical application. The interaction between Arab and the cell membrane may be influenced by potassimn, sodium and calcium ions. Lq this study, the bilayer in large unilamellar lipid-drug liposomes with or without cholesterol was employed as a model membrane. N-（7-Nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazol-4-yl）-1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoetheanolamine（N-BD-PE） and 1-palmi-toyl-2-[6（7-nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazol-4-yl）aminodoclecanoyl]-sn-glysero-3-phosphocholine（6-NBD-PC） are two kinds of fluorescent lipid probes, and the NBD group is attached to the polar lipid headgroup in the former, but to the sn-2 fatty acyl chain in the latter. The effect of these metal cations on the lipid-drug membrane was monitored by red edge excitation shift（REES）, fluorescence polarization, and the fluorescence lifetime of lipid probes in hydrophilic and hydrophobic areas of the membrane. These ions have different effects on the lipid-AraB membrane. Cholesterol can strengthen the packing ability of the membrane, which is influenced differently by potassium, sodium and calcium ions. Moreover, the influence of these ions on the membrane may be relative to the method of ion transportation through the membrane. This study is significant to understand the reduction of AraB＇s cellular toxicity.

Effect of varicocelectomy on testis volume and semen parameters in adolescents： a meta-analysis

Varicocele repair in adolescent remains controversial. Our aim is to identify and combine clinical trials results published thus far to ascertain the efficacy of varicocelectomy in improving testis volume and semen parameters compared with nontreatment control. A literature search was performed using Medline, Embase and Web of Science, which included results obtained from meta-analysis, randomized and nonrandomized controlled studies. The study population was adolescents with clinically palpable varicocele with or without the testicular asymmetry or abnormal semen parameters. Cases were allocated to treatment and observation groups, and testis volume or semen parameters were adopted as outcome measures. As a result, seven randomized controlled trials （RCTs） and nonrandomized controlled trials studying bilateral testis volume or semen parameters in both treatment and observation groups were identified. Using a random effect model, mean difference of testis volume between the treatment group and the observation group was 2.9 ml （95% confidence interval [CI]： 0.6, 5.2; P 〈 0.05） for the varicocele side and 1.5 ml （95% CI- 0.3, 2.7; P 〈 0.05） for the healthy side. The random effect model analysis demonstrated that the mean difference of semen concentration, total semen motility, and normal morphology between the two groups was 13.7 x 106 ml-1 （95% CI： -1.4, 28.8; P= 0.075）, 2.5% （95% CI：-3.6, 8.6; P= 0.424）, and 2.9% （95% CI： -3.0, 8.7; P= 0.336） respectively. In conclusion, although varicocelectomy significantly improved bilateral testis volume in adolescents with varicocele compared with observation cases, semen parameters did not have any statistically significant difference between two groups. Well-planned, properly conducted RCTs are needed in order to confirm the above-mentioned conclusion further and to explore whether varicocele repair in adolescents could improve subsequently spontaneous pregnancy rates.

Wave Dissipation Characteristics of A Mountain-Type Breakwater

One mountain-type breakwater consisting of two inclined plates and one vertical plate is proposed based on several types of traditional free surface breakwaters, including the horizontal plate, curtain wall, and trapezoidal barriers. The interaction between the regular waves and the fixed free surface mountain-type breakwater is measured in one wave flume(15.0 m×0.6 m×0.7 m). The wave propagation, reflection, and transmission process are simulated using the VOF method and the hybrid SAS/laminar method. The simulated wave profiles are consistent with the experimental observations. For waves with a length smaller than four times width of the mountain-type breakwater, the reflected wave amplitudes are slightly larger than those of the vertical-plate breakwater, while the wave transmission coefficients are all smaller than 0.5, and the wave loss coefficients are larger than 0.7. The wave energy is dissipated by wave breaking on the windward inclined plate, and turbulent flow around the vertical plate and the leeward inclined plate.

We report the discovery of a peculiar X-ray transient,EP240408a,by Einstein Probe （EP） and follow-up studies made with EP,Swift,NICER,GROND,ATCA and other ground-based multiwavelength *** new transient was first detected with Wide-field X-ray Telescope （WXT） on board EP on April 8th,2024,manifested in an intense yet brief X-ray flare lasting for *** flare reached a peak flux of 3.9×10-9erg cm-2s-1in 0.5-4 keV,300 times brighter than the underlying X-ray emission detected throughout the *** and more precise follow-up observations by EP/FXT,Swift and NICER confirmed the finding of this new *** X-ray spectrum is non-thermal in 0.5-10 keV,with a power-law photon index varying *** X-ray light curve shows a plateau lasting for4d,followed by a steep decay till becoming undetectable10 d after the initial *** on its temporal property and constraints from previous EP observations,an unusual timescale in the range of 7-23 d is found for EP240408a,which is intermediate between the commonly found fast and long-term *** counterparts have been found in optical and near-infrared,with the earliest observation at 17 h after the initial X-ray detection,suggestive of intrinsically weak emission in these *** demonstrate that the remarkable properties of EP240408a are inconsistent with any of the transient types known so far,by comparison with,in particular,jetted tidal disruption events,gamma-ray bursts,X-ray binaries and fast blue optical *** nature of EP240408a thus remains an *** suggest that EP240408a may represent a new type of transients with intermediate timescales of the order of10 *** detection and follow-ups of more of such objects are essential for revealing their origin.
