Zooplankton community composition in summers of 2021and 2022 in the northern East China Sea and Yellow Sea,and their linkage with abiotic and biotic factors

The northern East China Sea and Yellow Sea are highly dynamic marginal seas,serving as important fishing grounds and primary areas for *** zooplankton community structure,including abundance,biovolume,and normalized biovolume size spectra(NBSS)within this ecosystem in summers 2021 and 2022 was assessed through ZooScan digital imaging *** abundances of zooplankton in summers 2021 and 2022 were 3364.22±2190.53 and 4435.52±2520.06 inds./m^(3),respectively,whereas the corresponding biovolumes were 649.10±519.63 and 1064.86±1254.87 mm^(3)/m^(3),*** copepods as the dominant zooplankton functional group in terms of abundance in both years,while chaetognath and medusae were the dominant groups in terms of *** dominance of medusae and chaetognath in terms of biovolume,along with the flatter slopes of NBSS compared to a stable community,indicated that more energy accumulated in gelatinous organisms within the study *** were significant positive relationships between temperature and tunicates or medusae,with a significantly higher population size observed in summer 2022 than in *** lower abundance and biovolume of zooplankton,mainly of small copepods,in summer 2021 may be related to the larger population size of the large jellyfish and the proliferation of green *** investigation provided basic data and fundamental insights for achieving a comprehensive understanding of zooplankton community structure and their long-term dynamics.

Experimental investigation on the anti-detonation performance of composite structure containing foam geopolymer backfill material

The compression and energy absorption properties of foam geopolymers increase stress wave attenuation under explosion impacts,reducing the vibration effect on the *** tests were conducted using several composite structure models,including a concrete lining structure(CLS)without foam geopolymer and six foam geopolymer composite structures(FGCS)with different backfill parameters,to study the dynamic response and wave dissipation mechanisms of FGCS under explosive ***,strain,and vibration responses at different locations were synchronously *** damage modes and dynamic responses of different models were compared,and how wave elimination and energy absorption efficiencies were affected by foam geopolymer backfill parameters was *** results showed that the foam geopolymer absorbed and dissipated the impact energy through continuous compressive deformation under high strain rates and dynamic loading,reducing the strain in the liner structure by 52%and increasing the pressure attenuation rate by 28%.Additionally,the foam geopolymer backfill reduced structural vibration and liner deformation,with the FGCS structure showing 35%less displacement and 70%less acceleration compared to the *** FGCS model with thicker,less dense foam geopolymer backfill,having more pores and higher porosity,demonstrated better compression and energy absorption under dynamic impact,increasing stress wave attenuation *** analyzing the stress wave propagation and the compression characteristics of the porous medium,it was concluded that the stress transfer ratio of FGCS-ρ-579 was 77%lower than that of CLS,and the transmitted wave energy was 90%*** results of this study provide a scientific basis for optimizing underground composite structure interlayer parameters.

Solid-state synthesis and electrochemical properties of SmVO_4 cathode materials for low temperature SOFCs

A new cathode material fabricated by solid state reaction method was reported. The SmVO4 powder was obtained by firing the mixture of Sm2O3 and V2O5 powders in the temperature range of 700-1200 ℃. Its structure was identified by X-ray diffraction method and the electrochemical properties of SmVO4 as cathodes for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) were investigated in single unit cell at the temperature ranged from 450-550 ℃. The results of the single fuel cell unit show that the maximum current densities are 641, 797, 688 mA·cm-2 and the maximum power output are 165, 268, 303 mW·cm-2 and the open circuit voltage are 1.04, 0.96, 0.92 V at 450, 500 and 550 ℃, respectively.

Genome-wide SNP markers provided insights into the reproductive strategy and genetic diversity of the green tide causative species Ulva prolifera in China

Ulva prolifera is the causative species of the annually occurring large-scale green tides in China since *** specific biological features on reproductivity strategies,as well as intra-species genetic diversity,are still largely unknown,especially at the genome level,despite their importance in understanding the formation and outbreak of massive green *** the present study,the restriction site-associated DNA genotyping approach(2b-RAD)was adopted to identify the genome-wide single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)of 54 individual thalli including samples collected from Subei Shoal in 2019 and Qingdao coast from 2019 to *** genotype results revealed that most of the thalli in 2019 and 2020 were haploid gametophytes,while only half of the thalli were gametophytes in 2021,indicating flexibility in the reproductive strategies for the formation of the green tides among different years and the dominance of asexual and vegetative reproductive mode for the floating ***,population analysis was conducted,and it revealed a very low genetic diversity among samples from Subei Shoal and the Qingdao coast in the same year and a higher divergence among samples in different *** results showed the efficiency of 2b-RAD in the exploration of SNPs in *** and provided the first genome-wide scale evidence for the origin of the large-scale green tides on the Qingdao *** study improved our understanding of the reproductive strategy and genetic diversity of the green tide causative species and will help further reveal the biological causes of the green tide in China.

A new candidate as the cathode material for intermediate and low temperature SOFCs

In order to develop the new cathode materials suitable for intermediate and low temperature solid oxide fuel cells (IT/LTSOFCs), LaNi1-xFexO3 (x=0.4-0.8) (LNF) materials were synthesized using coprecipitation method. Their structures and morphologies were investigated by XRD and SEM, and their electronic conductivities at different temperatures were measured by dc four terminal method. Fuel cells were fabricated to evaluate the electrochemical properties of the LNF materials as cathodes at different temperatures. The performance of 450-497 mW·cm-2 was obtained in the temperature region of 580-650 ℃ for the LaNi0.2Fe0.8O3 cathode, and of 209-227 mW·cm-2 at 400-500 ℃ for the LaNi0.4Fe0.6O3. The excellent fuel cell performances indicate that the LNF materials are good cathodes for IT/LTSOFCs.

目的探讨在儿童不稳定桡骨远端骨折伴尺骨骨折治疗中应用闭合复位弹性髓内钉固定的临床效果。方法 46例不稳定桡骨远端骨折伴尺骨骨折患儿,按照骨折固定手术方式的不同分为观察组(行闭合复位弹性髓内钉固定治疗,23例)、对照组(行切开复位钢板内固定治疗,23例)。比较两组手术及预后情况,疼痛评分,前臂旋转功能和腕关节活动改善效果,术后并发症发生率。结果观察组术中出血量、手术时间、切口大小、术后骨折愈合时间分别为(43.16±9.53)ml、(49.37±10.89)min、(3.86±1.79)cm、(31.27±5.64)d,对照组分别为(89.64±12.43)ml、(60.64±11.74)min、(8.97±2.35)cm、(35.86±7.32)d。与对照组相比,观察组术中出血量和切口大小更小,手术时间及术后骨折愈合时间更短,差异有统计学意义(P0.05)。结论在儿童不稳定桡骨远端骨折伴尺骨骨折中,应用闭合复位弹性髓内钉固定治疗的创伤更小,愈合更快,且有利于前臂旋转功能和腕关节活动能力的恢复。

Natural predators of polyps of three scyphozoans:Nemopilema nomurai,Aurelia coerulea,and Rhopilema esculentum

Jellyfish blooms have become a hot research topic in recent decades because they pose a serious threat to fisheries,coastal industries,tourism,and the marine *** life cycle of scyphozoan jellyfish consists of a pelagic medusa stage and a benthic polyp stage,where asexual reproduction and strobilation of the polyps directly affect the abundance of ephyra and subsequently medusa *** dynamics of polyps are affected by both environmental and biological factors,and predation by natural predators is one of the most important biological *** nomurai,Aurelia coerulea,and Rhopilema esculentum are three scyphozoan species that are commonly found in Chinese coastal waters,and previous studies reported that the survivorship of polyps differs among the three species when they are exposed to the same benthic *** identify potential natural predators of polyps of these three species in Chinese coastal waters and to determine whether the predation rates on polyps of the three species differ,we collected 39 species of macrozoobenthos from the Bohai Sea,Yellow Sea,and East China Sea from May 2014 to June 2016 and conducted predation tests and predation rate *** found that the nudibranchs Pleurobranchaea novaezealandiae,Okenia plana,and Chromodoris tinctoria and the sea anemones Paracalliactis sinica,Calliactis japonica,Anthopleura incerta,and Anthopleura midori could prey on the polyps of all three scyphozoan *** predation rates increased with the body length of the *** predations rates were also related to the polyp species,although the different predators showed no consistent preference for a particular species of *** results indicate that introducing predators to locations inhabited by polyps might be a way to control the benthic polyp populations and prevent subsequent jellyfish blooms.

Jellyfish blooms occur worldwide and have resulted in serious problems in tourism,fisheries,coastal industries,and the marine *** life cycle of scyphozoan jellyfish consists of a pelagic medusa stage and a benthic polyp *** of asexual reproduction of the polyps determines directly the number of medusae;thus,the polyp stage is the key to understanding the population dynamics of *** nomurai,Aurelia coerulea,and Rhopilema esculentum are three scyphozoan jellyfish commonly inhabit in Chinese coastal *** of *** are easily visible,while those of *** and *** remain yet to be found in the ***,distribution of the medusa indicates that the polyps of all three species may occur *** evaluate the distribution pattern of polyps of the three species and explore intraguild predation by the polyps,we conducted a laboratory experiment that considered the attachment sequence and size relationship of calyx diameter of the *** found that the polyps of *** preyed on polyps of the other two species in all treatments,except when polyps of *** were bigger than those of *** polyps of *** preyed on the polyps of *** only when polyps of *** attached first and were bigger than those of *** of *** polyps were rarely found in the places inhabited by *** *** addition,*** polyps are known to inhabit at depths of less than 20 m in coastal sea,thus,we speculate that *** polyp colonies might occur at depths of more than 20 ***,our finding that polyps of *** aggressively preyed on polyps of other species may help understand other such systems of jellyfish bloom in the world.

Complete mitochondrial genomes of two deep-sea pandalid shrimps,Heterocarpus ensifer and Bitias brevis:insights into the phylogenetic position of Pandalidae(Decapoda:Caridea)

The mitochondrial genome(mitogenome)analysis is a significant tool for investigating the evolutionary history of metazoan *** family Pandalidae is a diverse caridean group containing mainly deep-sea *** May 302019,only two complete mitogenomes are available in *** we present the complete mitogenome sequences of two deep-sea pandalid shrimps,Heterocarpus ensifer and Bitias brevis through Illumina *** mitochondrial genomes were determined to be 15939 bp and 15891 bp long,and both consist of 13 protein-coding genes(PCGs),23 transfer-RNA genes(tRNAs),two ribosomal-RNA genes(rRNAs),and one control *** nucleotide composition is biased toward adenine and ***,the gene contents and arrangements are consistent with the pancrustacean ground *** alignment of the control regions of four pandalids reveals a conserved sequence block(CSB)(104 bp in length,average GC%=29.47%and 69.23%similarity).A phylogenetic analysis based on 51 Caridea complete mitogenomes revealed that the deep-sea pandalid shrimps are situated an intermediate lineage,with a tendency to originated from those living in shallow sea area.
