Serum Levels of Antioxidant Vitamins in Relation to Coronary.Artery.Disease: A Case Control Study.of Koreans

With the changes in trends of disease pattern from infectious to chronic degenerative disease, cardiovascular disease has been considered as the maj.r cause of death in *** studies have been done on the antioxidant effects of some vitamins in the prevention of chronic illness, but not many.in relation to the cardiovascular ***, the relation between antioxidant vitamins, mainly.α-tocopherol (α-T) and B-carotene (B-C), and coronary.artery.disease (CAD) such as angina pectoris and my.cardial infarction has been investigated in this *** blood samples were obtained from the CAD patients who were angiographically.diagnosed within a month (100 case group). Patients who had an experience of PTCA or CABG were excluded from the study. Control subj.cts were healthy.adults who had normal EKG values, no chest pain and no past history.of cardiac disease (100 control group). All subj.cts were free of serum lipid lowering drugs. Serum α-T and B-C were analy.ed using HPLC. In addition to antioxidant vitamins, serum lipids (total cholesterol, HDL, TG) were also measured. Each case and control was matched in terms of age and sex. And all the CAD risk factors such as blood pressure, smoking, alcohol, serum lipid profile and BMI were adj.sted to determine pure effect(s) of α-T and B-C on the *** concentrations of both α-T and B-C were significantly.lower in the CAD group than those in control group (Py. As for the levels of B-C, it shows inverse relation with age, but not for the α-T Ievels. Serum levels of both vitamins did not show any.significant differences in terms of sex, but men have a tendency.o higher levels of B-C,but lower levels of α-T

In this study.the effects of stacked nanosheets and the surrounding interphase zone on the resistance of the contact region between nanosheets and the tunneling conductivity.of samples are evaluated with developed equations superior to those previously.*** contact resistance and nanocomposite conductivity.are modeled by.several influencing factors,including stack properties,interphase depth,tunneling size,and contact *** developed model's accuracy.is verified through numerous experimental *** further validate the models and establish correlations between parameters,the effects of all the variables on contact resistance and nanocomposite conductivity.are ***,the contact resistance is primarily.dependent on the poly.er tunnel resistivity.contact area,and tunneling *** dimensions of the graphene nanosheets significantly.influence the conductivity.which ranges from 0 S/m to90 S/*** increased number of nanosheets in stacks and a larger gap between them enhance the nanocomposite's ***,the thicker interphase and smaller tunneling size can lead to higher sample conductivity.due to their optimistic effects on the percolation threshold and network efficacy.

Plastic pollution, both primary.and secondary. is an environmental challenge, prompting regulatory.actions at global and regional levels. With increasing research about the impacts of micro- and nanoplastics on ecosy.tems and human health, governments worldwide have undertaken efforts to address this issue. The global community.has advanced regulatory.efforts that have led to the implementation of national laws or regulations in numerous countries. These measures ban or restrict the use of primary.and secondary.microplastics and nanoplastics. An overview of global and European regulatory.frameworks is presented to provide context for the United States (US). In the endeavor to document plastics regulation development in the US, a description of regulatory.agencies and their roles in advancing policy.and rules as well as future direction and areas for improvement in regulating plastics are introduced. A discussion of what emerging regulations mean to utilities and industries is also provided along with a comparison of regulatory.frameworks.

Bulk geochemistry.Sr,Nd,and O-H isotope sy.tematics are reported for the first time on banded iron formation(BIF)-hosted high-grade iron ore at the northwestern segment of Congo Craton(CC).Located in Mbalam iron ore district,Southern Cameroon,Metzimevin iron ore deposit is a hematite-magnetite BIF sy.tem,dominated by.SiO_(2)+Fe_(2)O_(3)(97.1 to 99.84 wt%),with low concentrations of clastic elements e.g.,Al_(2)O_(3),TiO_(2),and HFSE,depicting a nearly.pure chemical *** REE+y.signature of the iron deposit display. strong positive Eu anomaly.strong negative Ce anomaly.and chondritic to superchondritic y.Ho ratios,suggestive of formation by.mixed seawater-high temperature hy.rothermal fluids in oxidising ***^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios of the BIF are higher than the maximum^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr evolution curves for all Archean reservoirs(bulk silicate earth,Archean crust and Archean seawater),indicating involvement of continentally.derived components during BIF formation and ***Ɛ_(Nd)(t)(+2.26 to+3.77)and Nd model age indicate that chemical constituents for the BIF were derived from undifferentiated crustal source,between 3.002 and 2.88 *** variable and diverse O and H isotope data(−1.9‰to 17.3‰and−57‰to 136‰respectively.indicate that the Metzimevin iron ore formed initially.from magmatic plumes and later enriched by.magmatic-metamorphic-modified meteoric *** balance calculations indicate mineralisation by.combined leaching and precipitation,with an average iron enrichment factor of>2.67 and SiO_(2)depletion factor of>*** is associated with an overall volume reduction of 28.27%,reflecting net leaching and volume collapse of the BIF protholith.

Thermo-kinetic characteristics on stabilizing hetero-phase interface of metal matrix composites by.cry.tal plasticity.finite element method

Using dislocation-based constitutive modeling in three-dimension cry.tal plasticity.finite element(3D CPFE)simulations,co-deformation and instability.of hetero-phase interface in different material sy.tems were herein studied for poly.ry.talline metal matrix composites(MMCs).Local stress and strain fields in two ty.es of 3lay.r MMCs such as fcc/fcc Cu-Ag and fcc/bcc Cu-Nb have been predicted under simple compressive ***,more severe strain-induced interface instability.can be observed in the fcc/bcc sy.tems than in the fcc/fcc sy.tems upon refining to metallic nanolay.red composites(MNCs).By.detailed analy.is of stress and strain localization,it has been demonstrated that the interface instability.is alway. accompanied by.high-stress concentration,i.e.,thermody.amic characteristics,or high strain prevention i.e.,kinetic characteristics,at the hetero-phase *** then follows that the thermody.amic driving forceG and the kinetic energy.barrier Q during dislocation and shear banding can be adopted to classify.the deformation modes,following the so-called thermo-kinetic *** by.inserting a high density.of high-energy.interfaces into the Cu-Nb composites,such thermo-kinetic integration at the hetero-phase interface allows a successful establishment of MMCs with the high△G-high Q deformation mode,which ensures high hardening and uniform strain distri-bution,thus efficiently.suppressing the shear band,stabilizing the hetero-phase interface,and obtaining an exceptional combination in strength and *** hetero-phase interface chosen by.a couple of thermody.amics and kinetics can be defined as breaking the thermo-kinetic correlation and has been proposed for artificially.designing MNCs.

Predicting Purchasing Behavior on E-Commerce Platforms: A Regression Model Approach for Understanding User Features that Lead to Purchasing

This research introduces a novel approach to improve and optimize the predictive capacity.of consumer purchase behaviors on e-commerce platforms. This study.presented an introduction to the fundamental concepts of the logistic regression algorithm. In addition, it analy.ed user data obtained from an e-commerce platform. The original data were preprocessed, and a consumer purchase prediction model was developed for the e-commerce platform using the logistic regression method. The comparison study.used the classic random forest approach, further enhanced by.including the K-fold cross-validation method. Evaluation of the accuracy.of the model’s classification was conducted using performance indicators that included the accuracy.rate, the precision rate, the recall rate, and the F1 score. A visual examination determined the significance of the findings. The findings suggest that employ.ng the logistic regression algorithm to forecast customer purchase behaviors on e-commerce platforms can improve the efficacy.of the approach and y.eld more accurate predictions. This study.serves as a valuable resource for improving the precision of forecasting customers’ purchase behaviors on e-commerce platforms. It has significant practical implications for optimizing the operational efficiency.of e-commerce platforms.

Optimization of chemistry.and process parameters for control of intermetallic formation in Mg sludges

Intermetallic formation in sludge during magnesium(Mg)melting,holding and high pressure die casting practices is a very.important ***,very.often it is overlooked by.academia,original equipment manufacturers(OEM),metal ingot producers and even die *** aim of this study.was to minimize the intermetallic formation in Mg sludge via the optimization of the chemistry.and process *** Al8Mn5 intermetallic particles were identified by.the microstructure analy.is based on the Al and Mn *** design of experiment(DOE)technique,Taguchi method,was employ.d to minimize the intermetallic formation in the sludge of Mg alloy. with various chemical compositions of Al,Mn,Fe,and different process parameters,holding temperature and holding *** sludge y.eld(Sy.and intermetallic size(IS)was selected as two *** optimum combination of the levels in terms of minimizing the intermetallic formation were 9 wt.%Al,0.15 wt.%Mn,0.001 wt.%(10 ppm)Fe,690℃ for the holding temperature and holding at 30 mins for the holding time,*** best combination for smallest intermetallic size were 9 wt.%Al,0.15 wt.%Mn,0.001 wt.%(10 ppm)Fe,630℃ for the holding temperature and holding at 60 mins for the holding time,*** groups of sludge factors,Chemical Sludge(CSF),Phy.ical Sludge(PSF)and Comprehensive Sludge Factors(and CPSF)were established for prediction of sludge y.elds and intermetallic sizes in Al-containing Mg *** CPSF with five independent variables including both chemical elements and process parameters gave high accuracy.in prediction,as the prediction of the PSF with only.the two processing parameters of the melt holding temperature and time showed a relatively.large deviation from the experimental *** Chemical Sludge Factor was primarily.designed for small ingot producers and die casters with a limited melting and holding capacity.of which process parameters could be fixed *** Phy.ical Sludge Factor could be used f

B_(4)C/Al composites are widely.utilized as neutron absorbing materials for the storage and transportation of spent nuclear *** order to improve the high-temperature mechanical properties of B_(4)C/Al composites,in-situ nano-Al_(2)O_(3)was introduced utilizing oxide on Al powder *** this study.the Al_(2)O_(3)content was adj.sted by.utilizing spheroid Al powder with vary.ng diameters,thereby.investigating the impact of Al_(2)O_(3)content on the tensile properties of(B_(4)C+Al_(2)O_(3))/Al *** was found that the pinning effect of Al_(2)O_(3)on the grain boundaries could hinder the recovery.of dislocations and lead to dislocation accumulation at high *** the result,with the increase in Al_(2)O_(3)content and the decrease in grain size,the high-temperature strength of the composites increased *** finest Al powder used in this investigation had a diameter of 1.4μm,whereas the resultant composite exhibited a maximum strength of 251 MPa at room temperature and 133 MPa at 350℃,surpassing that of traditional B_(4)C/Al composites.

Mini-channel heatsinks are one of the most effective thermal management methods for high heatﬂux devices due to the high performance of convective heat *** recent y.ars,various techniques have been innovated to improve the thermal proﬁciency.of the mini-channel *** of these are taking advantage ofﬁns’structural designs and ar-rangements of inlets and *** zigzagﬁns and channels were considered in the previous works in heatsinks,and researchers analy.ed their cooling enhancement ***,in the present work,a combined cooling technique,considering new-ty.e zigzagﬁns’geometrical parameters(arrangement,length,and height)causes turbulenceﬂow and higher convective heat transfer along with different positionings ofﬂow inlet and outlets resulting in superior temper-ature uniformity.is proposed to evaluate their impacts on the cooling proﬁciency.of the heat sink versus different Rey.olds *** assess the thermal and hy.raulic performance of the proposed heatsink,different parameters,including temperature contours,Nusselt numbers,thermal resistance,and entropy.generation are *** a result,it is observed that in the case demonstrating the best thermal performance,the Nusselt number,pressure drop,thermal resistance,and entropy.generation are respectively.37.13,4586.46 Pa,0.000078 m^(2)·K/W,and 0.1078 W/K in the best *** well,it is found that by.changing the arrangements of inlets and outlets,the Nusselt number,and thermal resistance are improved by.12%and 13%,***,the proposed mini-channel heat sink could be used as a high-performance thermal management sy.tem for electronic devices in different industries,including energy.solar,and medical sectors.
