Graphene with linear energy dispersion and weak electron-phonon interaction is highly anticipated to harvest hot electrons in a broad wavelength ***,the limited absorption and serious backscattering of hot-electrons result in inadequate quantum yields,especially in the mid-infrared ***,we report a macroscopic assembled graphene(nMAG)nanofilm/silicon heterojunction for ultrafast mid-infrared *** assembled Schottky diode works in 1.5-4.0μm at room temperature with fast response(20-30 ns,rising time,4 mm2 window)and high detectivity(1.61011 to 1.9109 Jones from 1.5 to 4.0μm)under the pulsed laser,outperforming single-layer-graphene/silicon photodetectors by 2-8 *** performances are attributed to the greatly enhanced photo-thermionic effect of electrons in nMAG due to its high light absorption(~40%),long carrier relaxation time(~20 ps),low work function(4.52 eV),and suppressed carrier number *** nMAG provides a long-range platform to understand the hot-carrier dynamics in bulk 2D materials,leading to broadband and ultrafast MIR active imaging devices at room temperature.

Background: Children presenting with physical features of chondro-ectodermal dysplasia (Ellis-Van Creveld syndrome) such as skeletal and joint abnormalities often have concomitant congenital cardiac anomalies. Presence of cardiorespiratory symptoms in children with Ellis-Van Craved syndrome warrants a thorough cardiologic evaluation to recognize and treat underlying congenital heart anomaly. Aim: A child with physical stigmata of Ellis-Van-Creveld syndrome is evaluated to detect an associated congenital cardiac anomaly and accomplish successful repair of the underlying cardiac lesion to reduce the cardiac related morbidity and improve the patient survival. Case Presentation: Ten years old boy with chondroectodermal dysplasia (dental anomalies, genu valgum and other skeletal abnormalities) presented with dyspnea and cyanosis. Cardiac evaluation by 2D echo revealed an atrioventricular (AV) canal septal defect with AV valve regurgitation and a common atrium. Angiocardiography showed a goose neck deformity of the left ventricular outflow tract. The Qp/Qs was 3.4: 1, with systemic arterial oxygen desaturation (SaO2 of 0.7) and O2 saturation in the common atrium was 0.7. The pulmonary venous connections to the common atrium were anomalous. Atriotomy on cardiopulmonary bypass and on a cardioplegic arrest discerned a partial AV canal septal defect with a common bridging leaflet, clefts in septal leaflets of tricuspid and mitral vlalves, an incompletely closed interventricular communication, and a common atrium with highly anomalous pulmonary venous insertions well anterior (8 cm) to vena caval orifices. Internet of Things (IoT) is innovation in the field of Communication where a number of intelligent devices are involved sharing information and making collaborative decision. IOT is going to be a market-changing force for a wide variety of real-time monitoring applications, such as E-healthcare, homes automation system, environmental monitoring and industrial automation as it is supporting to a large number of characteristics and achieving better cost efficiency. This article explores the emerging IoT in terms of the potential Energy Efficiency Reliability (EER) issues. This paper discusses the potential EER barriers with examples and suggests remedies and techniques which are helpful in propelling the development and deployment of IoT applications.

This paper presents a sequential approach with matrix framework for solving various kinds of economic dispatch problems. The objective of the economic dispatch problems of electrical power generation is to schedule the committed generating units output so as to meet the required load demand while satisfying the system equality and inequality constraints. This is a maiden approach developed to obtain the optimal dispatches of generating units for all possible load demands of power system in a single execution. The feasibility of the proposed method is demonstrated by solving economic load dispatch problem, combined economic and emission dispatch problem, multiarea economic dispatch problem and economic dispatch problem with multiple fuel options. The proposed methodology is tested with different scale of power systems. The generating unit operational constraints are also considered. The simulation results obtained by proposed methodology for various economic dispatch problems are compared with previous literatures in terms of solution quality. Numerical simulation results indicate an improvement in total cost saving and hence the superiority of the proposed method is also revealed for economic dispatch problems.

Objectives: Pulmonary valve insufficiency and right ventricular dysfunction may contribute to early and late morbidity and mortality after repair of Tetralogy of Fallot. Right ventricular dysfunction may be attributed to ventriculotomy incision, especially, when it is combined with a transannular patch as employed in the transventricular repair. Transatrial/transpulmonary approach without ventriculotomy and an attempt to preserve the pulmonary valve has been advocated as a method potentially diminishing such adverse events. The prevalence of associated morbidity and mortality and analysis of the results of various surgical approaches for repair of Tetralogy of Fallot formed the basis of this study. Methods: Nine hundred and ninety five patients during 20 yearS period (from 1992 and 2012) with primary diagnosis of Tetralogy of Fallot that underwent total repair operations in two medical centers were analyzed. The mean age of the patients was 2.9 ± 6.9 SE, with female/male ratio of 0.25. The mean long follow-up was 94 months ± 112 SD. Results: Repair via ventriculotomy with transannular patch was the most common technique (n = 627, 63%), followed by infundibulotomy without transannular patch (20%) and transatrial/transpulmonary approach without ventriculotomy (15%). The operative and long term mortality were 3.2% and 4.4%;2% and 3.1%;2% and 2.7% respectively. The overall operative and long term mortality for repairs was 2.9% and 3.4%, with high 3.94% and 6.6% respectively for repairs with right ventricular pulmonary valve conduit. There was statistically significant correlation between the type of repair and mortality risk. Use of transannular patch with ventriculotomy was associated with significant increase in overall mortality risk and operative mortality compared with ventriculotomy without transannular patch. The electrical circuit equivalents of magnetic device structures such as transformer require an exact knowledge of its parameters. Efficient parameter estimation technique is essential to obtain the equivalent circuit parameters of transformer because the parameters are used to manipulate parasitic elements and to obtain the enhanced circuit performance. In this paper, Bacterial Foraging Algorithm (BFA) has been applied to estimate the equivalent circuit parameters of single phase core type transformer. The information of open Circuit (OC) and Short Circuit (SC) tests has been utilized in BFA algorithm. The effectiveness of the proposed approach has been tested with a sample transformer and the simulation results are compared against the conventional method. The numerical results show that the proposed approach outperforms the conventional method in the aspects of solution quality.

A novel technique of stabilization of the coronary targets with autogenous pericardial bands is described in off pump coronary revascularizations. Pericardial bands are placed across the coronary targets and snared to the pericardial well for local cardiac immobilization. This technique can be used as an alternate to mechanical stabilizers for immobilization of the coronary targets.

Background: The off-pump coronary artery bypass graft surgery (OPCAB) may produce significant hemodynamic instability necessitating conversion to on-pump surgery. This study evaluated the hemodynamic parameters in patients undergoing OPCAB using pericardial bands for stabilization of the coronary target sites. Methods: In 250 patients undergoing OPCAB the hemodynamic parameters including continuous cardiac output and systemic venous oxygen saturation (SvO2) were recorded at baseline after pericardiotomy, during each coronary artery anastomosis at 3, 5, 10, 15 min, and after release of the pericardial bands used for target stabilization. Vasopressors were used to maintain mean arterial pressure (MAP) > 60 mmHg. Results: SvO2 and cardiac index (CI) decreased significantly after target stabilization and during all coronary anastomoses with greater decreases noted during obtuse marginal branch of left circumflex (OM) anastomosis. The MAP and heart rate were maintained without significant change but central venous pressure increased significantly during all coronary anastomoses. The significant increase in pulmonary capillary wedge pressure and mean pulmonary artery pressure were noted only during anastomosis of the left anterior descending artery. The highest dose of vasopressor was used during OM anastomosis. Conclusions: During OPCAB surgery using pericardial bands for coronary target stabilization, MAP was maintained constantly, but SvO2 and CI decreased immediately after target stabilization and reduced further during all coronary artery anastomoses. During OM anastomosis SvO2 and CI were significantly lower as compared to that of LAD and right coronary artery. Careful monitoring and management of hemodynamic variables are warranted to avoid conversion to on-pump technique.

Transformers are one of the main components of any power system. An accurate estimation of system be-haviour, including load flow studies, protection, and safe control of the system calls for an accurate equiva-lent circuit parameters of all system components such as generators, transformers, etc. This paper presents a methodology to estimate the equivalent circuit parameters of the Three Winding Transformer (TWT) using Bacterial Foraging Algorithm (BFA). The estimation procedure based on load test data at one particular op-erating point namely supply voltage, load currents, input power. The performance characteristics, such as efficiency and voltage regulation are considered along with the name plate data in order to minimize the er-ror between the estimated and measured data. The estimation procedure is demonstrated with a sample three winding transformer and the results are compared against the directly measured performance of TWT and genetic algorithm optimization results. The simulation results show the ability of the proposed technique to capture the true values of the machine parameters and the superiority of the results obtained using the bacte-rial foraging algorithm.
