Akebia trifoliata *** is a well-known medicinal and potential woody oil plant in *** limited genetic information available for *** *** has hindered its ***,a high-quality chromosomelevel genome sequence of *** *** is *** de novo genome assembly of 682.14 Mb was generated with a scaffold N50 of 43.11 *** genome includes 25,598 protein-coding genes,and 71.18%(485.55 Mb)of the assembled sequences were identi fi ed as repetitive *** ongoing massive burst of long terminal repeat(LTR)insertions,which occurred~1.0 million years ago,has contributed a large proportion of LTRs in the genome of *** *** analysis shows that *** *** is closely related to Aquilegia coerulea and forms a clade with Papaver somniferum and Nelumbo nucifera,which supports the well-established hypothesis of a close relationship between basal eudicot *** expansion of UDP-glucoronosyl and UDP-glucosyl transferase gene families and fi-amyrin synthase-like genes and the exclusive contraction of terpene synthase gene families may be responsible for the abundant oleanane-type triterpenoids in *** ***,the acyl-ACP desaturase gene family,including 12 stearoyl-acyl-carrier protein desaturase(SAD)genes,has expanded exclusively.A combined transcriptome and fatty-acid analysis of seeds at fi ve developmental stages revealed that homologs of SADs,acyl-lipid desaturase omega fatty acid desaturases(FADs),and oleosins were highly expressed,consistent with the rapid increase in the content of fatty acids,especially unsaturated fatty *** genomic sequences of *** *** will be a valuable resource for comparative genomic analyses and molecular breeding.

Growth Mode Investigation of 3,4,9,10-perylenetetra-carboxylic Dianhydride on p-Si Substrates by X-ray Photoemission Spectroscopy

The growth mode of 3,4,9,10-perylenetetra-carboxylic dianhydride(PTCDA) deposited on p-Si substrates can be deduced by X-ray Photoemission Spectroscopy(XPS). The spectrum and fine spectrum at the surface of specimen are studied. Firstly, PTCDA molecules assemble at the defects to form lots of three-dimensional island-like PTCDA crystal nucleuses, and then by the action of delocalized big π bond, two adjacent layers of PTCDA molecules overlap to some extent and finally island-like structure forms. PTCDA molecules of benzene ring combine with Si atoms at the defects, and that of acid anhydride radicals combine with Si atoms at the perfect fraction of the surface. In the course of combination, although the structure of benzene ring doesn't change, the chemical reaction of acid anhydride radicals and Si occurs to break off C=O bond in acid anhydride, and then C-Si-O and silicon oxide might be produced.

Key details of the duodenal-jejunal bypass in type 2 diabetes mellitus rats

AIM: To investigate which surgical techniques and perioperative regimens yielded the best survival rates for diabetic rats undergoing gastric bypass. METHODS: We performed Roux-en-Y gastric bypass with reserved gastric volume, a procedure in which gastrointestinal continuity was reestablished while excluding the entire duodenum and proximal jejunal loop. We observed the procedural success rate, long-term survival, and histopathological sequelae associated with a number of technical modifications. These included: use of anatomical markers to precisely identify Treitz's ligament; careful dissection along surgical planes; careful attention to the choice of regional transection sites; reconstruction using full-thickness anastomoses; use of a minimally invasive procedure with prohemostatic pretreatment and hemorrhage control; prevention of hypo-thermic damage; reduction in the length of the procedure; and accelerated surgical recovery using fast-track surgical modalities such as perioperative permissive underfeeding and goal-directed volume therapy. RESULTS: The series of modif ications we adopted reduced operation time from 110.02 ± 12.34 min to 78.39 ± 7.26 min (P < 0.01), and the procedural success rate increased from 43.3% (13/30) to 90% (18/20) (P < 0.01), with a long-term survival of 83.3% (15/18) (P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: Using a number of fast-track and damage control surgical techniques, we have successfully established a stable model of gastric bypass in diabetic rats.

BACKGRouND Lateral facial clefts are atypical with a low incidence in the facial cleft *** the development of ultrasonography(US)prenatal screening,such facial malformations can be detected and diagnosed prenatally rather than at *** three-dimensional US(3DUS)can render the fetus'face via 3D reconstruction,the 3D images are displayed on two-dimensional screens without field depth,which impedes the understanding of untrained *** contrast,a 3D-printed model of the fetus'face helps both parents and doctors develop a more comprehensive understanding of the facial malformation by creating more interactive ***,we present an isolated lateral facial cleft case that was diagnosed via US combined with a 3D-printed *** SUMMARY A 31-year-old G2P1 patient presented for routine prenatal screening at the 22nd wk of *** coronal nostril-lip section of two-dimensional US(2DUS)demonstrated that the fetus'bilateral oral commissures were asymmetrical,and left oral commissure was abnormally *** left oblique-coronal section showed a cleft at the left oral commissure which extended to the left *** results of 3DUS confirmed the ***,we created a model of the fetal face using 3D printing technology,which clearly presented facial *** fetus was diagnosed with a left lateral facial cleft,which was categorized as a No.7 facial cleft according to the Tessier facial cleft *** parents terminated the pregnancy at the 24th wk of gestation after parental *** In the diagnostic course of the current case,in addition to the traditional application of 2D and 3DUS,we created a 3D-printed model of the fetus,which enhanced diagnostic evidence,benefited the education of junior doctors,improved parental counseling,and had the potential to guide surgical planning.

Saprolegniasis,caused by Saprolegnia infection,is one of the most common diseases in freshwater *** study aimed to determine the epidemiological characteristics of saprolegniasis in Chinese regions of high *** were isolated and identified by morphological and molecular methods targeting the internal transcribed spacer(ITS)ribosomal DNA(rDNA)and building neighbor-joining(NJ)and maximum parsimony(MP)phylogenetic *** ITS sequences of eight isolated strains were compared with GenBank sequences and all strains fell into three clades:CLADE1(02,LP,04 and 14),CLADE2(S1),and CLADE3(CP,S2,L5 and the reference ATCC200013).Isolates 02 and LP shared 80%sequence similarity with ***,***,***,***,and ***,isolates 04 and 14 shared 80%similarity with *** and ***,extremely high ITS sequence similarities were identified between isolates S1 and ***(100%);CP and ***(96%);and S2,L5,ATCC200013 and ***(98%).This research provides insights into the identification,prevention and control of saprolegniasis pathogens and the potential development of effective drugs.

Comparative Transcriptome Analysis between Cytoplasmic Male-sterile Line and Its Maintainer During the Floral Bud Development of Pepper

The male-sterile line has been largely used in the hybrid seed production of pepper, which can effectively improve the efficiency of hybrid seed production. However, the formation mechanism of male sterility in pepper remains unclear. In the present study, we compared the gene expression patterns between pepper cytoplasmic male sterile line 9704 A and its maintainer 9704 B during floral bud development using RNA sequencing technology. A total of 547 976 and 2 416 Differentially Expressed Genes(DEGs) were identified in the stage S1, S2 and S3, respectively,and more than 70% of the DEGs were down-regulated in the sterile line. Gene Ontology(GO), and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG) enrichment analyses were performed to further understand the functions of these identified DEGs. The results showed that the DEGs were mainly enriched in pathways of starch and sucrose metabolism, pentose and glucuronate interconversions. A number of genes, such as MS1, PME5, ATPB, and lots of transcription factors were found down-regulated in the sterile line, and we also identified a series of genes with large differences in expression patterns between sterile line and maintainer line. Collectively, our findings laid a foundation for further molecular breeding in pepper and provided new insights into its mechanism underlying the male sterility.
