The recycling of cathode materials from spent lithium-ion battery has attracted extensive attention,but few research have focused on spent blended cathode materials.In reality,the blended materials of lithium iron phosphate and ternary are widely used in electric vehicles,so it is critical to design an effective recycling technique.In this study,an efficient method for recovering Li and Fe from the blended cathode materials of spent LiFePO_(4)and LiNi_(x)Co_(y)Mn_(1-x-y)O_(2)batteries is proposed.First,87%A1 was removed by alkali leaching.Then,91.65%Li,72.08%Ni,64.6%Co and 71.66%Mn were further separated by selective leaching with H_(2)SO_(4)and H_(2)O_(2).Li,Ni,Co and Mn in solution were recovered in the form of Li_(2)CO_(3)and hydroxide respectively.Subsequently,98.38%Fe was leached from the residue by two stage process,and it is recovered as FePO_(4)·2H_(2)O with a purity of 99.5%by precipitation.Fe and P were present in FePO_(4)·2H_(2)O in amounts of 28.34%and 15.98%,respectively.Additionally,the drift and control of various components were discussed,and cost-benefit analysis was used to assess the feasibility of potential application.

Catalysts with varying Fe contents were prepared using a sequential impregnation method to investigate the effects of Fe addition on the physicochemical properties of Pt/Al_(2)O_(3) and their performance in methylcyclohexane(MCH)dehydrogenation.The results demonstrated that the addition of Fe to Pt/Al_(2)O_(3) enhanced the electron density of Pt and improved catalytic activity,while exhibiting negligible influence on the catalytic selectivity for toluene.When the Fe content was 0.057%,the catalyst exhibited the highest MCH consumption rate,which was approximately two times higher than that of the catalyst without Fe.Additionally,the incorporation of Fe inhibited the formation of coke and reduced the quantity of coke deposits on the catalyst,thereby improving its catalytic durability.Overall,Fe shows promise as a prospective secondary element for Pt/Al_(2)O_(3) to enhance the MCH dehydrogenation performance.

Mitochondrial diseases are a heterogeneous group of inherited disorders character-ized by mitochondrial dysfunction,and these diseases are often severe or even fatal.Mito-chondrial diseases are often caused by mitochondrial DNA mutations.Currently,there is no curative treatment for patients with pathogenic mitochondrial DNA mutations.With the rapid development of traditional gene editing technologies,such as zinc finger nucleases and tran-scription activator-like effector nucleases methods,there has been a search for a mitochon-drial gene editing technology that can edit mutated mitochondrial DNA;however,there are still some problems hindering the application of these methods.The discovery of the DddA-derived cytosine base editor has provided hope for mitochondrial gene editing.In this paper,we will review the progress in the research on several mitochondrial gene editing technologies with the hope that this review will be useful for further research on mitochondrial gene editing technologies to optimize the treatment of mitochondrial diseases in the future.

An all-in-one FeO_(x)-rGO sponge fabricated by solid-phase microwave thermal shock for water evaporation and purification

Developing high-efficiency photothermal seawater desalination devices is of significant importance in addressing the shortage of freshwater.Despite much effort made into photothermal materials,there is an urgent need to design a rapidly synthesized photothermal evaporator for the comprehensive purification of complex seawater.Therefore,we report on all-in-one FeOx-rGO photothermal sponges synthesized via solid-phase microwave thermal shock.The narrow band gap of the semiconductor material Fe_(3)O_(4) greatly reduces the recombination of electron-hole pairs,enhancing non-radiative relaxation light absorption.The abundantπorbitals in rGO promote electron excitation and thermal vibration between the lattices.Control of the surface hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity promotes salt resistance while simultaneously achieving the purification of various complex polluted waters.The optimized GFM-3 sponge exhibitedan enhanced photothermal conversion rate of 97.3% and a water evaporation rate of 2.04 kg/(m^(2)·hr),showing promising synergistic water purification properties.These findings provide a highly efficient photothermal sponge for practical applicationsof seawater desalination and purification,as well as develop a super-rapid processing methodology for evaporation devices.

Postoperative tumor recurrence remains a predominant cause of treatment failure. In this study, we developed an in situ injectable hydrogel, termed MPB-NO@DOX + ATRA gel, which was locally formed within the tumor resection cavity. The MPB-NO@DOX + ATRA gel was fabricated by mixing a thrombin solution, a fibrinogen solution containing all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA), and a Mn/NO-based immune nano-activator termed MPB-NO@DOX. ATRA promoted the differentiation of cancer stem cells, inhibited cancer cell migration, and affected the polarization of tumor-associated macrophages. The outer MnO2 shell disintegrated due to its reaction with glutathione and hydrogen peroxide in the cytoplasm to release Mn2+ and produce O2, resulting in the release of doxorubicin (DOX). The released DOX entered the nucleus and destroyed DNA, and the fragmented DNA cooperated with Mn2+ to activate the cGAS-STING pathway and stimulate an anti-tumor immune response. In addition, when MPB-NO@DOX was exposed to 808 nm laser irradiation, the Fe-NO bond was broken to release NO, which downregulated the expression of PD-L1 on the surface of tumor cells and reversed the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. In conclusion, the MPB-NO@DOX + ATRA gel exhibited excellent anti-tumor efficacy. The results of this study demonstrated the great potential of in situ injectable hydrogels in preventing postoperative tumor recurrence.

Two-dimensional Ruddlesden-Popper（2DRP） perovskite exhibits excellent stability in perovskite solar cells（PSCs） due to introducing hydrophobic long-chain organic spacers.However,the poor charge transporting property of bulky organic cation spacers limits the performance of 2DRP PSCs.Inspired by the Asite cation alloying strategy in 3D perovskites,2DRP perovskites with a binary spacer can promote charge transporting compared to the unary spacer counterparts.Herein,the superior MA-based 2DRP perovskite films with a binary spacer,including 3-guanidinopropanoic acid（GPA） and 4-fluorophenethylamine（FPEA） are realized.These films(GPA0.85FPEA0.15)2MA4Pb5I16show good morphology,large grain size,decreased trap state density,and preferential orientation of the as-prepared film.Accordingly,the present 2DRP-based PSC with the binary spacer achieves a remarkable efficiency of 18.37% with a VOCof1.15 V,a JSCof 20.13 mA cm-2,and an FF of 79.23%.To our knowledge,the PCE value should be the highest for binary spacer MA-based 2DRP（n ≤ 5） PSCs to date.Importantly,owing to the hydrophobic fluorine group of FPEA and the enhanced interlayer interaction by FPEA,the unencapsulated 2DRP PSCs based on binary spacers exhibit much excellent humidity stability and thermal stability than the unary spacer counterparts.

BACKGROUND Gastric cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in the digestive system,ranking sixth in incidence and fourth in mortality worldwide.Since 42.5%of metastatic lymph nodes in gastric cancer belong to nodule type and peripheral type,the application of imaging diagnosis is restricted.AIM To establish models for predicting the risk of lymph node metastasis in gastric cancer patients using machine learning(ML)algorithms and to evaluate their pre-dictive performance in clinical practice.METHODS Data of a total of 369 patients who underwent radical gastrectomy at the Depart-ment of General Surgery of Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University(Xuzhou,China)from March 2016 to November 2019 were collected and retro-spectively analyzed as the training group.In addition,data of 123 patients who underwent radical gastrectomy at the Department of General Surgery of Jining First People’s Hospital(Jining,China)were collected and analyzed as the verifi-cation group.Seven ML models,including decision tree,random forest,support vector machine(SVM),gradient boosting machine,naive Bayes,neural network,and logistic regression,were developed to evaluate the occurrence of lymph node metastasis in patients with gastric cancer.The ML models were established fo-llowing ten cross-validation iterations using the training dataset,and subsequently,each model was assessed using the test dataset.The models’performance was evaluated by comparing the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of each model.RESULTS Among the seven ML models,except for SVM,the other ones exhibited higher accuracy and reliability,and the influences of various risk factors on the models are intuitive.CONCLUSION The ML models developed exhibit strong predictive capabilities for lymph node metastasis in gastric cancer,which can aid in personalized clinical diagnosis and treatment.

This study aims to explore the formation mechanism of ethyl acetate and organic acids in acid rice soup(rice-acid soup)inoculated with Kluyveromyces marxianus L1-1 through the complementary analysis of transcriptome and proteome.The quantity of K.marxianus L1-1 varied significantly in the fermentation process of rice-acid soup and the first and third days were the two key turning points in the growth phase of K.marxianus L1-1.Importantly,the concentrations of ethyl acetate,ethanol,acetic acid,and L-lactic acid increased from day 1 to day 3.At least 4231 genes and 2937 proteins were identified and 610 differentially expressed proteins were annotated to 30 Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathways based on the analysis results of transcriptome and proteome.The key genes and proteins including up-regulated alcohol dehydrogenase family,alcohol O-acetyltransferase,acetyl-CoA C-acetyltransferase,acyl-coenzyme A thioester hydrolase,and down-regulated aldehyde dehydrogenase family were involved in glycolysis/gluconeogenesis pathways,starch and sucrose metabolism pathways,amino sugar and nucleotide sugar metabolism pathways,tricarboxylic acid(TCA)cycle,and pyruvate metabolism pathways,thus promoting the formation of ethyl acetate,organic acids,alcohols,and other esters.Our results revealed the formation mechanisms of ethyl acetate and organic acids in rice-acid soup inoculated with K.marxianus L1-1.

Photothermal therapy(PTT)has been widely used in the treatment of tumors,but its efficacy is greatly limited by the inability of precise drug delivery and the increase of heat shock proteins(HSPs)caused by high temperature.This article describes a therapeutic strategy to enhance PTT with starvation therapy in conjunction with ferroptosis mechanism.A nanoparticle platform ZIF-8@GA was constructed by wrapping together glucose oxidase(GOX)and gold nanospheres(AuNPs)loaded with dihydroartemisinin(DHA)with zeolitic imidazolate framework-8(ZIF-8).This platform can take advantage of the micro-environment of osteosarcoma(OS)cells,featuring low pH and high reactive oxygen species(ROS),for precision drug delivery.GOX can effectively catalyze glucose to produce gluconic acid and H_(2)O_(2),and DHA can also induce ROS production in OS cells.ROS produced by GOX and DHA can further generate lipid peroxidation(LPO)and lead to ferroptosis of OS cells.At the same time,ROS and LPO produced can inhibit the expression of HSPs,thereby increasing the therapeutic effect of PTT.In vitro experiments show that the nanoparticles are pH and ROS responsive.1μg/mL GOX combined with 0.2μg/mL DHA promotes ferroptosis of OS cells,and increases the killing effect of near-infrared(NIR)on OS cells.Further in vivo experiments showed that the nano drug-delivery platform combined with PTT can effectively inhibit the growth of OS cells.Meanwhile,this study provides a new idea for the treatment of OS with biomaterials combined with various treatment methods.

BACKGROUND Within the normal range,elevated alanine aminotransferase(ALT)levels are associated with an increased risk of metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD).AIM To investigate the associations between repeated high-normal ALT measurements and the risk of new-onset MAFLD prospectively.METHODS A cohort of 3553 participants followed for four consecutive health examinations over 4 years was selected.The incidence rate,cumulative times,and equally and unequally weighted cumulative effects of excess high-normal ALT levels(ehALT)were measured.Cox proportional hazards regression was used to analyse the association between the cumulative effects of ehALT and the risk of new-onset MAFLD.RESULTS A total of 83.13%of participants with MAFLD had normal ALT levels.The incidence rate of MAFLD showed a linear increasing trend in the cumulative ehALT group.Compared with those in the low-normal ALT group,the multivariate adjusted hazard ratios of the equally and unequally weighted cumulative effects of ehALT were 1.651[95%confidence interval(CI):1.199-2.273]and 1.535(95%CI:1.119-2.106)in the third quartile and 1.616(95%CI:1.162-2.246)and 1.580(95%CI:1.155-2.162)in the fourth quartile,respectively.CONCLUSION Most participants with MAFLD had normal ALT levels.Long-term high-normal ALT levels were associated with a cumulative increased risk of new-onset MAFLD.
