Ferroelectric materials for vibrational energy harvesting

Energy harvesting is an appealing technology that makes use of the ambient energy which is otherwise wasted. Piezoelectric materials directly convert the elastic energy to the electric energy, and thus have a great advantage in scavenging vibrational energy for simplicity in device structure with relatively high power density. This paper provides an overview on the research of piezoelectric materials in energy harvesting in recent decades, from basics of piezoelectricity and working principle of energy harvesting with piezoelectric materials, to the progress of development of high-performance piezoelectrics including ceramics, single crystals and polymers, then to experimental attempts on the device fabrication and optimization, finally to perspective applications of piezoelectric energy harvesting(PEH). The criteria for selection of materials for PEH applications are introduced. Not only the figure of merit but also maximum allowable stress of materials are taken into account in the evaluation of their potential in achieving high energy density and output power density. The influence of the device configuration on the performance is also acknowledged and discussed. The magnitude and distribution of induced stress in the piezoelectric unit upon excitation by the vibration source play an important role in determining the output power density and can be tuned via proper design of device configuration without changing its resonant frequency. Approaches to address the issue of frequency match accompanying with the resonant mode are illustrated with literature examples. Usage of PEH devices can be extended to a variety of vibration sources in everyday life as well as in nature. Some appealing applications of PEH, such as in implantable and wearable devices, are reviewed.

目的:比较布比卡因和罗哌卡因用于临床术后镇痛的安全性和疗效。方法:60例术后硬膜外镇痛的患者,随机被分为盐酸罗哌卡因组(R组),盐酸布比卡因组(B组),每组各30例。R组应用0．2％罗哌卡因+舒芬太尼0．5μg·mL-1;B组应用0．125％布比卡因+舒芬太尼0．5μg·mL-1。观察其镇痛效果、剂量、运动阻滞程度和不良反应。结果:R组和B组的VAS评分、用药总量无显著差异。两组对运动神经阻滞程度比较也无显著差异,均无不良反应发生。结论:罗哌卡因应用于临床术后硬膜外镇痛安全和可靠,其作用与布比卡因相比无差别。

AIM: To discuss the angiographic features of gastrointestinastromal tumor (GIST) and to evaluate their diagnostic ***: Twelve patients with pathologically proved GISTunderwent angiography (DSA)I wk before operation, usingPuck and digital subtraction DSA. Controlled TiO2 coating on hollow glass microspheres and their reflective thermal insulation properties

Hollow glass microspheres(HGMs)have great potential in building energy-saving and industrial *** TiO2-modified HGMs were prepared by a sol-gel method in acetic acid-ethanol *** electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,zeta-potential measurements,nitrogen-sorption measurements,and Fourier-transform infrared and ultraviolet-visible-near-infrared diffuse reflectance spectroscopies showed that the alkali modification of the HGMs greatly influenced the loading and microstructure of the TiO2 *** TiO2 loading could be accurately controlled by ethanol addition and the TiO2 coating time.A mechanism for the TiO2 coating of the HGM surface is *** synergistic action of hydrogen bonding and electrostatic forces resulted in close contact between the HGMs and TiO2 sol at pH *** effects of different TiO2 loading rates on the reflective and thermal insulation properties were *** near-infrared reflectance of 15.9%TiO2 coated on HGMs was 96.27%,and the inner surface temperature of the composite pigment coated on aluminum board was reduced by 22.4℃.The TiO2/HGM composite pigments exhibited excellent solar reflective and thermal insulation properties,so have potential in the construction of exterior walls and roofs.

Monitoring Study of Long-Term Land Subsidence during Subway Operation in High-Density Urban Areas Based on DInSAR-GPS-GIS Technology and Numerical Simulation

Nonlinear inversion of ultrasonic guided waves for in vivo evaluation of cortical bone properties

Ultrasonic guided waves(UGWs),which propagate throughout the entire thickness of cortical bone,are attractive for the early diagnosis of ***,this is challenging due to the impact of soft tissue and the inherent difficulties related to multiparametric inversion of cortical bone quality factors,such as cortical thickness and bulk wave ***,in this research,a UGW-based multi-parameter inversion algorithm is developed to predict strength-related *** simulation,a free plate(cortical bone)and a bilayer plate(soft tissue and cortical bone)are used to validate the proposed *** inversed cortical thickness(CTh),longitudinal velocity(V_(L))and transverse velocity(V_(T))are in accordance with the true *** four bovine cortical bone plates were used in in vitro *** with the reference values,the relative errors for cortical thickness were 3.96%,0.83%,2.87%,and 4.25%,*** the in vivo measurements,UGWs are collected from the tibias of 10 *** theoretical dispersion curves depicted by the estimated parameters(V_(T),V_(L),CTh)match well with the extracted experimental *** comparison with dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry,our results show that the estimated transverse velocity and cortical thickness are highly sensitive to ***,these two parameters(CTh and V_(T))of long bones have potential to be used for diagnosis of bone status in clinical applications.

Patients with refractory immune thrombocytopenia(ITP)frequently encounter substantial bleeding risks and demonstrate limited responsiveness to existing *** cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells(UC-MSCs)present a promising alternative,capitalizing on their low immunogenicity and potent immunomodulatory effects for treating diverse autoimmune *** prospective phase I trial enrolled eighteen eligible patients to explore the safety and efficacy of UC-MSCs in treating refractory *** research design included administering UC-MSCs at escalating doses of 0.5×10^(6)cells/kg,1.0×10^(6)cells/kg,and 2.0×10^(6)cells/kg weekly for four consecutive weeks across three cohorts during the dose-escalation phase,followed by a dose of 2.0×10^(6)cells/kg weekly for the dose-expansion *** events,platelet counts,and changes in peripheral blood immunity were monitored and recorded throughout the administration and follow-up ***,12(with an addition of three patients in the 2.0×10^(6)cells/kg group due to dose-limiting toxicity)and six patients were enrolled in the dose-escalation and dose-expansion phase,*** patients(13/18,72.2%)experienced one or more treatment emergent adverse *** adverse events occurred in four patients(4/18,22.2%),including gastrointestinal hemorrhage(2/4),profuse menstruation(1/4),and acute myocardial infarction(1/4).The response rates were 41.7%in the dose-escalation phase(5/12,two received 1.0×10^(6)cells/kg per week,and three received 2.0×10^(6)cells/kg per week)and 50.0%(3/6)in the dose-expansion *** overall response rate was 44.4%(8/18)among all enrolled *** sum up,UC-MSCs are effective and well tolerated in treating refractory ITP(*** ID:NCT04014166).

Dear Editor,Breast cancer is now the most frequently diagnosed cancer and is the fifth leading cause of cancer-related death in Chinese women. Therefore, the burden of breast cancer in China is gradually increasing. According to figures released by the Chinese Cancer Center in 2018, the number of newly diagnostic breast cancer is about 278,900 cases, accounting for 16.51%of all women who were diagnosed with the first primary malignant tumors;and 66,000 cases of breast cancer died in 2014 (Chen et al., 2016).

To explore the coupled effect of heat and mass transfer,the coupled model of heat and mass transfer for a fixed bed adsorption process was established according to the Soret effect and the Dufour effect *** analysis methods were adopted to discuss the influences of heat transfer coefficients,mass transfer coefficients,and the coupled effect of heat and mass transfer on the fixed bed adsorption process *** have shown that heat transfer coefficients have little effect on mass *** the degree of influence on the temperature field,the greatest is the heat transfer coefficient,followed by the axial thermal conductivity,the smallest is the external heat transfer *** mass transfer coefficients have some impact on the heat transfer and the mass transfer effect caused by the temperature gradient is more obvious than the heat transfer effect caused by the concentration gradient.
