The edge transport code SOLPS5.0 is used to model edge plasmas in the experi- mental shots on JT-60U and the profiles of the transverse particle and heat transport coefficients D, Xe and Xi along the outer midplane are obtained by fitting the simulational results to the experimental data in L-mode shot 39090 and H-mode shots 37851, 37856. The modelling and fitting results show that within the pedestal region in H-mode shots 37851 and 37856 the radial particle transport coefficient D exhibits a significant drop, but, for L-mode shot 39090, the obvious drop in both D and Xe was not found.

Benzosiloles fused to heterocycles such as thiophene,benzothiophene,and benzofuran,and indole-and benzosilole-fused dibenzosiloles were prepared by palladium-catalyzed intramolecular coupling of the corresponding 2-(arylsilyl)aryl triflates in good to high *** and crystal structures of 5,7-dihydro-5,5,7,7-tetrakis(1-methylethyl)bis[1]benzosilolo-[2,3-b:3',2'-d]thiophene,6-methyl-12,12-diisopropyl-12H-indololo[3,2-b][1]silafluorene,and 5,5,11,11-tetraisopropyl-5,11H-benzosi lolo[3,2-c]silafluorene were determined by X-ray diffraction *** UV absorption spectra of the(di)benzosilole derivatives in cyclohexane red-shifted when compared to 1,1-diisopropyldibenzosilole,indicating that replacing a benzene ring of dibenzosilole by the heterocycles as well as fusion of indole and benzosilole moieties onto dibenzosilole narrowed the HOMO-LUMO gaps of the π-conjugation *** thiophene-fused benzosiloles were faintly fluorescent in solution and in the solid state,whereas the dibenzosiloles exhibited luminescence with moderate and high quantum yields in cyclohexane and in microcrystals,*** other words,aggregation-induced emission was observed for the ***,5,5,11,11-tetraisopropyl-5,11H-benzosilolo[3,2-c]silafluorene in microcrystals exhibited violet fluorescence(λmax = 396 nm) with a quantum yield of *** functional theory(DFT) calculations of the prepared(di)benzosiloles were also performed.

Coherent magnetic fluctuations in an acoustic range of frequency have been regularly observed in low-density（n_e〈0.2×10^（19）m^（-3））plasmas with strong second harmonic electron cyclotron resonance heating（ECRH）on the Large Helical *** X-ray measurements indicated that energetic electrons are generated in these ECRH *** magnetic fluctuations are suppressed in higher density discharges where energetic electrons are not *** ECRH power modulation experiment indicated that the observed magnetohydrodynamic（MHD）mode has an acoustic nature rather than an Alfvenic nature.

Although spinal tumors are uncommon, they may reduce survival or cause serious functional disorders in the extremities. Metastatic spinal tumors from malignant tumors can induce symptoms of spinal cord compression, such as paraplegia, quadriplegia, and vesicorectal disturbance, which are aggravated with progression of the diseases and time. We report a patient with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) who was suspected of having spinal lesions based on neurological findings, and a metastatic spinal tumor was found by imaging examination. Assuming that metastasis had occurred at the time lumbar pain developed, the patient reached the level of gait disturbance within only 4 mo, showing a rapid advancement of symptoms. If early diagnosis had been possible, treatment could be performed before acute myelopathy progressed to complete paralysis. We speculate that the terminal stage of HCC is not only liver failure associated with intrahepatic lesions but also metastasis to other regions, treatment for individual pathologies therefore, will be needed, which constitutes an important issue.

Chemometric Amylose Modeling and Sample Selection for Global Calibration Using Artificial Neural Networks

Chemometric amylose modeling for global calibration,using whole grain near infrared transmittance spectra and sample selection,was used in an artificial neural network(ANN) ,to assess the global and local models generated,based on samples of newly bred Indica,Japonica and rice. Global sample sets had a wide range of sample variation for amylose content(0 to 25.9%) . The local sample set,Japonica sample,had relatively low amylose content and a narrow sample variation(amylose;12.3% to 21.0%) . For sample selection the CENTER algorithm was applied to generate calibration,validation and stop sample sets. Spectral preprocessing was found to reduce the optimum number of partial least squares(PLS) components for amylose content and thus enhance the robustness of the local calibration. The best model was found to be an ANN global calibration with spectral preprocessing;the next was a PLS global calibration using standard spectra. These results pose the question whether an ANN algorithm with spectral preprocessing could be developed for global and local calibration models or whether PLS without spectral preprocessing should be developed for global calibration models. We suggest that global calibration models incorporating an ANN may be used as a universal calibration model.

Cinnamomum camphora （L.） Presl is an evergreen broad-leaved tree of the Lauraceae family, widely distributed in the sub-tropical areas in the south of China and used as a virescent tree in urban gardens and streets in Shanghai for its beautiful shape and intensive stress-resistance. However, yellowing of C camphora in recent years casts doubt about its significance. We believe the green-leaved and yellow-leaved C camphora might be two different ecotypes, and tentatively refer to the green-leaved C camphora as C camphora f. viridis f. nov （CCV） and the yellow-leaved as C camphora *** f. nov （CCF）. We studied their differences and arrived at the following conclusions： 1） compared with CCF, the area of lamina of CCV is significantly larger and the amount of chlorophyll （Chl） significantly higher; 2） the lamina and palisade tissues of CCV are significantly thicker than those of CCF, but its cuticle is significantly thinner; 3） the shape of the stomata of CCV is different from that of the CCF; the stomatal density and stomatal index of CCV are significantly lower than those of CCF. These results show that C camphora might evolve adaptive dif- ferentiation in some aspects which can be used in virescence in urban streets and gardens.

Hollow silica-alumina composite spheres were prepared by a polystyrene(PS)template method using various amounts of PS *** hollow spheres prepared using 40 g were found to be with a diameter of about 300 nm in scanning electron microscopy,and transmission electron microscopy demonstrated their hollow sphere *** the nitrogen adsorption isotherm results,the homogeneous hollow spheres prepared using 40 g of the PS suspension were found to be an ordered pore *** activities of the hollow spheres prepared using various amounts of the PS suspension for hydrolytic dehydrogenation of ammonia borane were *** results showed that 10,7,and 6 mL of hydrogen were evolved from the aqueous ammonia borane solution in about 40 min in the presence of the hollow spheres prepared using 40,80,and 120 g of PS suspension,*** homogeneous hollow spheres with an ordered pore structure showed the highest activity among all the hollow *** amount of acid sites and the coordination number of aluminum active species were characterized using neutralization titration and solid-state ^(27)Al magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance *** homogeneous hollow spheres with an ordered pore structure had high amount of acid sites and 4-coordinated aluminum *** relative proportion of 4-coordinated aluminum species was related to the dispersion of aluminum *** results indicate that the homogeneous hollow spheres with an ordered pore structure showed the high activity because of high amount of acid sites induced by the highly dispersed aluminum species.

AIM： To examine the effect of Eubacteriuro Iiroosuro （***） on colonic epithelial cell line in vitro, and to evaluate the effect of *** on experimental colitis.METHODS： *** was inoculated anaerobically and its metabolites were obtained. The growth stimulatory effect of the *** metabolites on T84 cells was evaluated by SUDH activity, and the anti-inflammatory effect by IL-6 production. The change in mRNA of toll like receptor 4 （TLR4） was evaluated by real time PCR. Colitis was induced by feeding BALB/C mice with 2.0% dextran sodium sulfate. These mice received either 5% lyophilized *** （n=7） or control diet （n=7）. Seven days after colitis induction, clinical and histological scores, colon length, and cecal organic acid levels were determined.RESULTS： The *** produced butyrate, acetate, propionate, and lactate at 0.25, 1.0, 0.025 and 0.07 retool/L, respectively in medium. At this concentration, each acid had no growth stimulating activity on T84 cells; however, when these acids were mixed together at the above levels, it showed significantly high activity than control. Except for lactate, these acids significantly attenuated IL-6 production at just 0.1 mmol/L. In addition, under TNF-α stimulation, butyrate attenuated the production of TLR4 mRNA. The treatment with *** significantly attenuated clinical and histological scores of colitis with an increase of cecal butyrate levels, compared with the control group.CONCLUSION： *** can ameliorate experimental colonic inflammation. In part, the metabolite of ***, butyrate, increases mucosal integrity and shows anti-inflammatory action modulation of mucosal defense system via TLR4.

Integrated application of February Orchid(Orychophragmus violaceus) as green manure with chemical fertilizer for improving grain yield and reducing nitrogen losses in spring maize system in northern China

The development of more efficient management systems is crucial to achieving high grain yields with high nitrogen use efficiency（NUE）. February Orchid-spring maize rotation system is a newly established planting system with the benefits of ground cover and potential wind erosion in northern China. A field experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of integrated application of February Orchid as green manure with reduction of chemical fertilizers（INTEGRATED） on spring maize yield, N uptake, ammonium volatilization, and soil residual mineral N in northern China. Compared to farmers＇ traditional fertilization（CON）, integrated application of February Orchid as green manure with 30% reduction of nitrogen fertilizers（INTEGRATED） increased maize grain yield and biomass by 9.9 and 10.2%, respectively. The 0–100 cm soil residual Nmin at harvest was decreased by 58.5% and thus nitrogen use efficiency was increased significantly by 26.7%. The nitrogen balance calculation further demonstrated that the INTEGRATED approach performed better than CON with lower apparent nitrogen loss（decreased by 48.9%） which evidenced by the ammonium volatilization of top-dressing fertilizer was decreased by 31.1%, the N_（min） movement to the deeper soil layers was reduced, and the apparent nitrogen leaching loss nearly equal to 0 under the INTEGRATED treatment. Therefore, in northern China, integrated application of green manure and chemical fertilizers is an efficient management approach for improving maize yields and NUE simultaneously.
