A highly sensitive multiple-mode optical thermometer designed in Eu^(2+)/^(3+)and Li^(+)co-doped polymorphism compound LaSc_(3)(BO_(3))_(4)

Noncontact optical thermometers have attracted widespread attention,but existing problems such as single-mode and low-sensitivity thermometers still urgently need to be ***,a novel multiple-mode thermometer was designed for the polymorphism LaSc_(3)(BO_(3))_(4):Eu^(2+/3+),Li^(+).X-ray diffraction(XRD)patterns revealed a slight transition betweenα-andβ-phases with the concentrations of the dopants,which is further proved by structure refinements and first-principles *** coexistence of Eu^(2+)and Eu^(3+)in the phosphors and their relative percentages were confirmed by X-ray absorption near-edge structure(XANES)*** from appropriate emissions from Eu^(2+)and Eu^(3+)without obvious energy transfer and their opposite changing trends with temperatures under 307 nm excitation,a triple-mode optical thermometer is obtained for this material within the temperature range of 150–450 *** highest sensitivities of 27.65,14.05,and 7.68%·K^(−1)are achieved based on two fluorescence intensity ratio(FIR)modes of Eu^(2+)and Eu^(3+)(5d–4f/^(5)D_(0)–^(7)F_(2,4))and the fluorescence lifetime(FL)mode of Eu^(2+),*** the best of our knowledge,the former is almost the highest in Eu^(2+)and Eu^(3+)co-doped *** results indicate that this material may be used as an excellent multiple-mode optical thermometer.

The cell membrane is a critical barrier for cellular homeostasis,integral to signaling and intercellular communication,and vital for understanding cellular functions and disease *** its microenvironment is crucial for uncovering the molecular basis of physiological and pathological processes associated with the cell membrane,driving the development of bioanalytical toolkits capable of dynamically monitoring the cell surface *** the continuous advancement of functional nucleic acids and dynamic DNA nanotechnology,DNA nanodevices with controllable nanosized geometry,specific molecular recognition,and selective membrane-localization properties offer a versatile platform for probing the cell membrane *** this review,we summarize the current biosensing and membrane-anchoring mechanisms of DNA nanodevices and highlight their use in studying key cell membrane events,including membrane lipid dynamics,transmembrane transport,receptor dimerization,and signal ***,we discuss the challenges and potential future applications of DNA nanodevices in advancing cell membrane biology research and biomedical applications.

Artificial intelligence for the detection of glaucoma with SD-OCT images:a systematic review and Meta-analysis

●AIM:To quantify the performance of artificial intelligence(AI)in detecting glaucoma with spectral-domain optical coherence tomography(SD-OCT)images.●METHODS:Electronic databases including PubMed,Embase,Scopus,ScienceDirect,ProQuest and Cochrane Library were searched before May 31,2023 which adopted AI for glaucoma detection with SD-OCT *** pieces of the literature were screened and extracted by two ***-analysis,Meta-regression,subgroup,and publication of bias were conducted by *** risk of bias assessment was performed in Revman5.4 using the QUADAS-2 tool.●RESULTS:Twenty studies and 51 models were selected for systematic review and *** pooled sensitivity and specificity were 0.91(95%CI:0.86–0.94,I2=94.67%),0.90(95%CI:0.87–0.92,I2=89.24%).The pooled positive likelihood ratio(PLR)and negative likelihood ratio(NLR)were 8.79(95%CI:6.93–11.15,I2=89.31%)and 0.11(95%CI:0.07–0.16,I2=95.25%).The pooled diagnostic odds ratio(DOR)and area under curve(AUC)were 83.58(95%CI:47.15–148.15,I2=100%)and 0.95(95%CI:0.93–0.97).There was no threshold effect(Spearman correlation coefficient=0.22,P>0.05).●CONCLUSION:There is a high accuracy for the detection of glaucoma with AI with SD-OCT *** application of AI-based algorithms allows together with“doctor+artificial intelligence”to improve the diagnosis of glaucoma.

Composite solid electrolytes（CSEs） containing polymer matrices and inorganic fillers hold promise for the next generation of solid-state ***,the role of residual solvents in CSEs remains *** study investigated the evolution and function of the residual solvent in a polymer-Li2B12H12CSE.A partial reaction occurred between Li2B12H12and solvent N,N-dimethylformamide（DMF）,which produced dimethylaminomethanol（DMAM） in the *** functional theory calculations have revealed that DMA M forms stronger hydrogen bonds with polyvinylidene fluoride chains than DMF,which can have a plasticizing effect on the polymer matrix,leading to lower crystallinity and quicker segment ***,this CSE exhibited improved Li-ion conducting properties,enabling the stable cycling of Li‖LiFePO4solid-state *** study provided insights into the role of residual solvents in CSEs.

103 GHz germanium-on-silicon photodiode enabled by an optimized U-shaped electrode

High-performance germanium photodiodes are crucial components in silicon photonic integrated circuits for large-capacity data ***,the bandwidths of most germanium photodiodes are limited by the intractable resistance–capacitance parasitic ***,we introduce a unique U-shaped electrode to alleviate this issue,reducing the parasitic effect by 36%without compromising any other ***,a large bandwidth of 103 GHz,an optical responsivity of 0.95 A/W at 1550 nm,and a dark current as low as 1.3 nA are achieved,leading to a record high specific *** is the first breakthrough to 100 GHz bandwidth among all vertical germanium photodiodes,to the best of our *** eye diagrams of 120 Gb/s on-off keying and 200 Gb/s four-level pulse amplitude signals are well *** work provides a promising solution for chip-based ultra-fast photodetection.

Origin of the Dashuigou independent tellurium deposit at Qinghai–Xizang Plateau: constraints from the light stable isotopes C, O, and H

By studying the light isotopic compositions of carbon,oxygen,and hydrogen,combined with previous research results on the ore-forming source of the deposit,the authors try to uncover its metallogenic *** δ^(18)O and δ^(13)C isotope signatures of dolomite samples vary between 10.2 and 13.0‰,and between−7.2 and−5.2‰,respectively,implying that the carbon derives from the upper mantle.δD and δ^(18) O of quartz,biotite,and muscovite from diff erent ore veins of the deposit vary between−82 and−59‰,and between 11.6 and 12.4‰,respectively,implying that the metallogenic solutions are mainly *** to the relevant research results of many isotope geologists,the fractionation degree of hydrogen isotopes increases as the depth to the Earth’s core increases,and the more diff erentiated the hydrogen isotopes are,the lower their values will *** other words,mantle-derived solutions can have extremely low hydrogen isotope *** means that the δD‰ value−134 of the pyrrhotite sample numbered SD-34 in this article may indicate mantle-derived oreforming fl uid of the *** formation of the Dashuigou tellurium deposit occurred between 91.71 and 80.19 Ma.

Quantifying the agreement and accuracy characteristics of four satellite-based LULC products for cropland classification in China

Various land use and land cover(LULC)products have been produced over the past decade with the development of remote sensing *** the differences in LULC classification schemes,there is a lack of research on assessing the accuracy of their application to croplands in a unified ***,this study evaluated the spatial and area accuracies of cropland classification for four commonly used global LULC products(i.e.,MCD12Q1V6,GlobCover2009,FROM-GLC and GlobeLand30)based on the harmonised FAO criterion,and quantified the relationships between four factors(i.e.,slope,elevation,field size and crop system)and cropland classification *** validation results indicated that MCD12Q1 and GlobeLand30 performed well in cropland classification regarding spatial consistency,with overall accuracies of 94.90 and 93.52%,*** FROMGLC showed the worst performance,with an overall accuracy of 83.17%.Overlaying the cropland generated by the four global LULC products,we found the proportions of complete agreement and disagreement were 15.51 and 44.72% for the cropland classification,*** consistency was mainly observed in the Northeast China Plain,the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain and the northern part of the Middle-lower Yangtze Plain,*** contrast,low consistency was detected primarily on the eastern edge of the northern and semiarid region,the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and southern *** size was the most important factor for mapping *** area accuracy,compared with China Statistical Yearbook data at the provincial scale,the accuracies of different products in descending order were:GlobeLand30,FROM-GLC,MCD12Q1,and *** cropland classification schemes mainly caused large area deviations among the four products,and they also resulted in the different ranks of spatial accuracy and area accuracy among the four *** results can provide valuable suggestions for selecting cropland products at the national or provinc

Conversion of a single-layer ANN to photonic SNN for pattern recognition

This work presents a complete conversion scheme for photonic spiking neural networks(SNNs).We verified that the output of an artificial neural network(ANN) trained with the simulated optical activation function can be directly converted into the spike rate of a photonic spiking neuron *** reveal the feasibility of hardware implementation,we considered the effects of different bit precisions of data and weight,noise level,and bias current mismatch on the converted *** proposed scheme was evaluated using the Deterding vowel,IRIS,TIDIGITS,and MNIST datasets for pattern recognition,and achieved mean accuracies of 95.80%,98.67%,96.19%,and 92.33%,*** proposed scheme can convert an ANN into a photonic SNN with almost no precision loss,and the performance was comparable to that of an ANN trained with the rectified linear unit *** proposed scheme can enable the high-performance implementation of photonic SNNs.

The quality factor(Q factor)is a crucial performance parameter for *** this paper,a novel release method for highquality micro fused silica shell resonators with teeth-like tines with good surface morphology is *** method is based on femtosecond laser-assisted chemical ***,the optimal energy range of femtosecond laser modification is obtained through mechanism ***,the optimal parameters for a straight line and arc pattern are determined by optimizing the average output power,processing speed,and processing *** results demonstrate why edge breakage in rounded corners is easy under different ***,according to these conclusions,the processing is performed on a micro fused silica shell resonator with a Q factor exceeding 6 *** addition,subsurface damage is rare throughout the fabrication process,and the surface roughness of the released cross section reaches the nanometer *** improved Q factor helps suppress mechanical thermal noise and reduce zero bias and zero bias drift,constituting the primary method for enhancing the performance of the resonant gyroscope.

Metal oxide supported metal catalysts show promising catalytic performance in many industry-relevant ***,the enhancement of performance is often limited by the insufficient metal/metal oxide *** this work,we demonstrate a general synthesis of Pt-early transition metal oxide(Pt-MO_(x),M=Ti,Zr,V,and Y)catalysts with rich interfacial sites,which is based on the air-induced surface segregation and oxidation of M in the supported Pt-M alloy *** characterizations verify the dynamic structural response of Pt-M alloy catalysts to air and the formation of Pt-MO_(x) catalysts with abundant interfacial *** prepared Pt-TiO_(x) interfacial catalysts exhibit improved performance in hydrogenation reactions of benzaldehyde,nitrobenzene,styrene,and furfural,as a result of the heterolytic dissociation of H_(2) at Pt-metal oxide interfacial sites.
