Observation of viable alloskin vs xenoskin grafted onto subcutaneous tissue wounds after tangential excision in massive burns

Background:Staged excision and grafting with viable cryopreserved alloskin or fresh pigskin at an early stage is a main strategy for wound management in massive *** is the gold standard of a biological temporary skin substitute,and the main drawback to its wider use is the limited number of *** this paper,we compare the use of fresh pigskins to cryopreserved alloskins as temporary skin substitutes on subcutaneous tissue wounds after tangential excision by observing the clinical performances of these grafts in cases of a massive ***:We selected six adult massive burn patients undergoing tangential excision and skin grafting on subcutaneous tissue wounds(TESGSTW)at our burn center from January 1,2003 to December 31,*** general clinical data and survival percentage of skins at postoperative weeks(POWs)1,2,and 3 were *** our clinical practice,we also observed the phenomenon that several viable cryopreserved alloskin or fresh pigskin grafts used as temporary coverage on subcutaneous tissue wounds had long-term survival after repeated *** macroscopic and histological results of one typical case were also ***:In this study,the first three TESGSTW operations were performed at 2–3,5–8,and 11–16 days *** operation areas were 30.3±7.9%total body surface area(TBSA),19.0±6.0%TBSA,and 12.0±1.7%TBSA,*** survival percentage of the cryopreserved alloskins or fresh pigskins at POWs 1,2,and 3 were 80.0±10.0%vs 75.7±5.3%(t=1.01,P=0.16),71.2±10.6%vs 66.4±6.2%(t=1.09,P=0.30),and 48.7±2.5%vs 35.0±7.0%(t=3.83,P=0.03),*** microscopic observation of the survival of alloskins or pigskins in one typical case showed rete ridges and a basilar membrane at the joint of the epidermis and dermis at an early stage;these structures disappeared with extended time ***:From the clinical observations,fresh pigskin and cryopreserved alloskins could be used with equal effectiveness a

Corrosion Behavior of Cupronickel Alloy in Simulated Seawater in the Presence of Sulfate-Reducing Bacteria

The corrosion behavior of cupronickel alloy immersed in the simulated seawater in or without the presence of sulfate-reducing bacteria （SRB） was studied. The results of scanning electronic microscopy and electrochemical impedance spectra reveal that corrosion of the sample immersed in the simulated seawater with SRB was more serious than that immersed in the simulated seawater without SRB. The atomic force microscopy images show that after immersion for 15 days, the surface roughness of the sample in the simulated seawater with SRB was higher than that of the sample in the simulated seawater without SRB. The analysis of confocal laser scanning microscopy indicates that the average depth of the pits on the surface of the sample in the simulated seawater with SRB was almost twice deeper than that of the sample in the simulated seawater without SRB.

Environmental barrier coatings(EBCs)effectively protect the ceramic matrix composites(CMCs)from harsh engine environments,especially steam and molten ***,open pores inevitably formed during the deposition process provide the transport channels for oxidants and corrosives,and lead to premature failure of *** research work proposed a method of pressure infiltration densification which blocked these open pores in the *** results showed that it was difficult for aluminum to infiltrate spontaneously,but with the increase of external gas pressure and internal vacuum simultaneously,the molten aluminum obviously moved forward,and finally stopped infiltrating at a depth of a specific *** on the wrinkled zigzag pore model,a mathematical relationship between the critical pressure with the infiltration depth and the pore intrinsic geometry was *** infiltration results confirmed this relationship,indicating that for a given coating,a dense thick film can be obtained by adjusting the internal and external gas pressures to drive a melt infiltration.

Principle of Multi-roller Straightening Process and Quantitative Resolutions of Straightening Strategies

The multi-roller straightening process of section steel is analyzed by the springback theory of small curva- ture plane bending. The theoretical analysis results prove the curvature unification in straightening process and clear- ly reveal the principle of the multi-roller straightening process. The principle can be described as~ the initial curva- tures are reduced by several times anti-bendingl meanwhile the initial curvature differences are diminished and the residual curvatures are unified~ finally, the member after curvature unification is straightened by the last anti-ben- ding. With the plastic region ratios becoming larger, the initial curvatures are more easily unified in straightening process. Based on the plastic region ratios and the required number of roller systems for unifying the initial curva- tures, the large deformation straightening strategy and the small deformation straightening strategy are redefined. The new definition provides an important theoretical basis for setting reliable reduction rules. Through the theoretical analysis results, a new straightener design philosophy is proposed to improve the straightening quality and further increase the adjustment precision as well as the flexibility of the last roller system. The adjustable end roller emerges as the times required, achieving a good effect in practical application.

Field Study on Indoor Thermal and Luminous Environment in Winter of Vernacular Houses in Northern Hebei Province of China

In this paper,a climate-adaptation study of vernacular houses in northern Hebei Province has been conducted based on quantitative field surveys. Three typical vernacular houses with different kinds of building envelopes were selected. The field surveys included investigation on building material and construction,measurement of indoor thermal environment, infrared thermographic study of building envelopes and measurement of luminous environment. The results showed that the indoor air temperatures were below thermal comfort zone from late night till early morning and the horizontal temperature gradient was obvious. The adobe wall showed better thermal performance than the other two. As for the building layout,it is beneficial to put a storeroom on the north side of the house as a temperature buffer zone. Furthermore,due to missing insulation and the informal process of construction,significant amounts of heat escaped from building envelopes,especially from the corner of wall,ceiling and around the openings. The daylight factors on the work plan in the main rooms were accordance with design standards and the level of illuminance met the requirements of family's daily activities.

Quantum public-key crypto via EPR pairs

With the development of quantum computing technology, quantum public-key cryptography is gradually becoming an alternative to the existing classical public-key cryptography. This paper designs a quantum trapdoor one-way function via EPR pairs and quantum measurements. Based on this, a new quantum public-key cryptosystem is presented, which offers forward security,and can resist the chosen-plaintext attack and chosen-ciphertext attack. Compared with the existing quantum public-key cryptos,eavesdropping can be automatically detected in this new quantum public-key cryptosystem under a necessary condition, which is also detailed in the paper.
