Objective:To delineate the onset and recurrence characteristics of noncardiogenic ischemic stroke patients in China.Methods:A prospective,multicenter and registry study was carried out in 2,558 patients at 7 representative clinical sub-centers during November 3,2016 to February 17,2019.A questionnaire was used to collect information of patients regarding CM syndromes and constitutions and associated risk factors.Additionally,stroke recurrence was defined as a primary outcome indicator.Results:A total of 327(12.78%)patients endured recurrence events,1,681(65.72%)patients were men,and the average age was 63.33±9.45 years.Totally 1,741(68.06%)patients suffered first-ever ischemic stroke,1,772(69.27%)patients reported to have hypertension,and1,640(64.11%)of them reported dyslipidemia,1,595(62.35%)patients exhibited small-artery occlusion by The Trial of Org 10172 in Acute Stroke Treatment(TOAST)classification.Specifically,1,271(49.69%)patients were considered as qi-deficient constitution,and 1,227(47.97%)patients were determined as stagnant blood constitution.There were 1,303(50.94%)patients diagnosed as blood stasis syndrome,1,280(50.04%)patients exhibited phlegm and dampness syndrome and 1,012(39.56%)patients demonstrated qi deficiency syndrome.And 1,033(40.38%)patients declared intracranial artery stenosis,and 478(18.69%)patients reported carotid artery stenosis.The plaque in 1,508(41.36%)patients were of mixed.Particularly,41.09%of them demonstrated abnormal levels of glycated hemoglobin(HbA1 c)levels.Conclusions:Recurrence in minor and small-artery stroke cannot be ignored.Hypertension,dyslipidemia,abnormal HbA1 c,intracranial artery stenosis and carotid plaque were more common in stroke patients.Particularly,phlegm-dampness and blood stasis syndromes,as well as qi deficiency and blood stasis constitutions,were still the main manifestations of stroke.(Trial registration at ClinicalTrials.gov,No.NCT03174535)

Mechanical characteristics and microcosmic mechanisms of granite under temperature loads

The relationships between mechanical characteristics of rock and microcosmic mechanism at high temperatures were investigated by MTS815, as well as the stress-strain behavior of granite under the action of temperatures ranging from room tem-perature to 1200 °C. Based on a micropore structure analyzer and SEM, the changes in rock porosity and micro structural mor-phology of sample fractures and brittle-plastic characteristics under high temperatures were analyzed. The results are as follows: 1) Mechanical characteristics do not show obvious variations before 800 °C; strength decreases suddenly after 800 °C and bearing capacity is almost lost at 1200 °C. 2) Rock porosity increases with rising temperatures; the threshold temperature is about 800 °C; at this temperature its effect is basically uniform with strength decreasing rapidly. 3) The failure type of granite is a brittle tensile fracture at temperatures below 800 °C which transforms into plasticity at temperatures higher than 800 °C and crystal formation takes place at this time. Chemical reactions take place at 1200 °C. Failure of granite under high temperature is a common result of thermal stress as indicated by an increase in the thermal expansion coefficient, transformation to crystal formation of minerals and structural chemical reactions.

Holocene activity evidence on the southeast boundary fault of Heqing basin, middle segment of Heqing-Eryuan fault zone, West Yunnan Province, China

The Heqing-Eryuan fault is an important part of the active fault system in the Northwestern Yunnan Province, China. Thus, the study on the nature, characteristics and activity history of this fault can provide not only the basis for seismic safety and engineering evaluation, but also the important information for the characteristics, history and patterns of the structural deformation of the southeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau. Trench and faulted landforms investigations could provide effective paleoseismic methods to obtain the recent parameters of active faults. Using these methods, this study makes some breakthroughs on the recent activity of southeast boundary fault of the Heqing basin, middle segment of Heqing-Eryuan fault zone.Results indicate that the average vertical slip rate and left-lateral slip rate of the segment are about 0.28mm/a and 1.80 mm/a respectively since the Late Pleistocene. The trench near the Beixi Village at the southeast boundary fault of the Heqing basinreveals that there have been at least three paleoearthquake events during the Holocene(~8 ka BP). The vertical displacement and sinistral strike-slip distance of a single paleoearthquake are ~20 cm and ~1.2 m, respectively. The estimated paleoearthquake magnitudes with Ms7.0, and the recurrence interval at 2-5 ka, as well as the latest activity time during 800-290 cal yr BP, are of great significance for preventing and mitigating regional earthquake disasters.

Late Pleistocene-Holocene slip history of the Langshan-Seertengshan piedmont fault(Inner Mongolia,northern China) from cosmogenic ^(10)Be dating on a bedrock fault scarp

Offset geomorphic features and deformed late Quaternary strata indicate active deformation along the Langshan-Seertengshan piedmont fault(LSPF),one of the most active faults in the Hetao fault zone in Inner Mongolia,North China.The widespread occurrence of bedrock fault scarps along the LSPF offers excellent opportunity to examine the faulting history.Using cosmogenic (10)~Be exposure dating,we measured the exposure ages of the western Langshankou scarp,located in the middle segment of the LSPF.Our data revealed at least two earthquakes that occurred at 22.2±3.3 ka and 7.2±2.4 ka,respectively.These events are consistent with previous paleoseismic trench studies.The regression of the relationship between the age and sampling height along the scarp yield a fault slip rate of 0.10 +0.05/-0.06 mm/yr,which issignificantly lower than the average post-late Pleistocene fault slip rate of ~1 mm/yr,as estimated from the offset of the T_2 terraces by previous studies.This indicates that the slip of the LSPF may have been accommodated by other fault branches.

Umbilical Cord Blood Lead Levels in Shanghai, China

This study was designed to determine the cord blood lead (BPb) levels of babies born in one urban area of Shanghai, and to preliminarily identify the demographic, social environment and prenatal factors which have an effect on the cord BPb concentrations. From August to November 1993, umbilical cord blood samples were obtained from 605 live newborns in the Yangpu Maternal and Child Hospital. 257 samples were excluded from measurement because of clotting. In 348 cord samples, the geometric mean of cord BPb levels was 9. 2μg/dl, with a 95 % confidence interval of the mean 8. 86-9. 54 (μg/dl). 142 babies (40. 8 % ) had cord BPb levels of 10μg/dl or greater. As a result of this high percentage of newborns with BPb levels equal to or greater than 10 μg/dl, we estimate that each year in the Shanghal City about 60,000 newborns are at risk for developing neuropsychological deficiencies caused by maternal lead exposure during pregnancy. To investigate the factors affecting cord blood levels, the subjects with levels greater than the 70th percentile (10. 7μg/dl) (n = 104) and less than the 3oth percentile (7. 4μg/dl) (n = 104) were selected to compare the demographic, environ ment and prenatal medical history. Increased BPb levels at birth were associated with maternal passive smoking, a family member being occupationally exposed to lead, proximity to major traffic way, household coal combustion, neighborhood coal combustion, low level of meternal occupations, and the increasing occurrence of having the high lead foodstuff pidan (preserved duck egg) during pregnancy. 目的探讨结肠癌根治术后综合并发症指数(CCI)≥26.2分的独立危险因素,以此建立动态网页列线图预测模型并进行验证。方法回顾性收集2020年11月-2022年4月于江南大学附属医院接受根治性手术的结肠癌患者的临床资料,基于入院时间分为主要队列(2020年11月-2021年10月,n=438)与验证队列(2021年11月-2022年4月,n=196)。根据CCI计算器(http://***)得出所有患者的CCI评分,采用单因素和多因素logistic回归分析结肠癌患者术后CCI≥26.2的危险因素,并构建列线图模型。采用受试者工作特征(ROC)曲线、C指数及校准曲线评估列线图模型的区分度和一致性,决策曲线分析评估模型的临床获益,并对模型进行内部验证。结果主要队列438例患者中,63例(14.4%)术后CCI≥26.2分。多因素logistic回归分析显示,年龄≥60岁(OR=2.662,95%CI 1.341~5.285,P=0.005)、低第3腰椎旁骨骼肌指数(L3MI)(OR=4.572,95%CI 2.435~8.583,P<0.001)、NRS2002评分≥3分(OR=4.281,95%CI 2.304~7.952,P<0.001)和术前伴有肠梗阻(OR=3.785,95%CI 1.971~7.268,P<0.001)是结肠癌患者术后CCI≥26.2分的独立危险因素。据此建立静态及网页版动态列线图预测模型(https://jndxfsyywcwksyf.***.io/DynNomCCI/)。列线图模型的C指数和曲线下面积(AUC)分别为0.742和0.787;校准曲线显示模型的预测概率与实际概率具有较好的一致性;内部验证显示模型具有良好的区分度(C指数=0.722,AUC=0.795)和预测一致性;决策曲线分析显示该预测模型具有临床获益和应用价值。结论基于4个独立危险因素构建的动态列线图模型能够便捷、可靠地预测结肠癌术后CCI≥26.2分的概率,有助于优化术前评估体系,制定精准的个体化诊疗方案,促进患者快速康复。

Effects of quasi-periodicity on defect modes of photonic crystals

In this letter,the effects of Bragg-mirror quasi-periodicity on the shifts and quality factor in defect modes of photonic crystals are studied by using the transfer matrix method.Furthermore the influence of the quasi-periodicity on electric field enhancement effect inside the defect layer is studied,which is similar to that on the quality factor.

The band gap properties of one-dimensional photonic crystals with a defect layer of negative refractive index materials are studied.The defect mode width is bigger than that of conventional one-dimensional photonic crystals with a defect layer of positive refractive index materials.The defect mode of the former is different from that of the latter,shifts towards the direction of high frequency (short wavelength),and has a bigger shifting velocity.Furthermore the effects on the transmission properties of the former photonic crystals caused by change in the position of the defect layer of negative refractive index are investigated.Finally the optical enhancement of the former photonic crystals is also investigated.

Transmission spectra of one-di mensional photonic crystals including negative-refractive-index media

We introduce a new model of one-dimensional (1D) photonic crystal composed of alternately arranged RHM and LHM layers with positive and negative refractive indices respectively, for which the transmission spectra of the model are calculated numerically with the transfer matrix method, and the band-gap structure and the polarization properties are analyzed. We found that the introduction of negative refractive index layers (i.e.LHM medium layers) gives rise to some peculiar band-gap structure and polarization properties as follows. Firstly, the forbidden bands are extremely wide and the transmission bands are very sharp without oscillation;and secondly, the change of incident angle has different influences on the forbidden bands of TE and TM modes. For the TM mode, the forbidden band width decreases substantially and finally vanishes, and for the TE mode with central wavelength, the total reflection happens at any incident angle.
