i.dus Deltai. Regi.n(i.R) i. Paki.tan i. an erosi.n vulnerable coast due to the hi.h deep water wave energy. Li.eli.ood of mi.li.ns of people depends on the fi.heri.s and mangrove forests i. i.R. i.R consi.ts of many creeks where Daboo i. a major creek located at southeast of the largest ci.y of Paki.tan, Karachi. Unfortunately, there has been no detai.ed study to analyze the damages of sea water i.trusi.n at a large temporal and spati.l scale. Therefore, thi. study i. desi.ned to esti.ate the effects of sea water i.undati.n based on changi.g sea water surface sali.i.y and sea surface temperature(SST). Sea surface sali.i.y and SST data from two di.ferent surveys i. Daboo creek duri.g 1986 and 2010 are analyzed to esti.ate the damages and extent of sea water i.trusi.n. Mean sali.i.y has i.creased 33.33% whereas mean SST decreased 13.79% from 1987 to 2010. Spati.-temporal analysi. of creek area usi.g LANDSAT 5 Themati. mapper(TM) data for the years 1987 and 2010 shows si.ni.i.ant amount of erosi.n at macro scale. Creek area has i.creased approxi.ately 9.93%(260.86 m^2 per year) whi.h i. roughly equal to 60 extensi.e si.ed shri.p farms. Further Land Use Land Cover(LULC) analyses for years 2001 and 2014 usi.g LANDSAT 7 Enhanced Themati. Mapper Plus(ETM+) has i.di.ated 42.3% decrease i. culti.ated land. Wet mud flats have spread out at the i.ner mouth of creek wi.h enormous i.crease of 123.3%. Si.ni.i.ant sea water i.trusi.n has i.creased the area of barren land by 37.9%. Thi. also resulted i. overall decrease of 6.7% i. area covered by mangroves. Therefore, thi. study recorded a si.ni.i.ant evi.ence of sea water i.trusi.n i. i.R that has caused seri.us damages to communi.y li.i.g i. the area, economi.al losses. Addi.i.nally, i. has also changed the envi.onment by reduci.g creek bi.logi.al producti.i.y as reported by earli.r studi.s over other regi.ns of the world.

Background Bt technology has played si.ni.i.ant role i. controlli.g bollworms and i.creasi.g cotton yi.ld i. earli.r days of i.s i.troducti.n,a subsequent decli.e i. yi.ld became apparent over *** decli.e may be attri.uted to vari.us envi.onmental factors,pest dynami.s,or combi.ati.n of ***,the present bi.physi.al survey and questi.nnai.e were desi.ned to evaluate the i.pact of Bt cotton on bollworms management and i.s effect on reduci.g spray costs,targeti.g farmers wi.h vari.d landholdi.gs and educati.nal ***,data on farmers'culti.ated vari.ti.s and the prevalence of bollworms and sucki.g i.sects i. thei. fi.lds were ***,about eleven thousand cotton samples from farmer fi.lds were tested for Cry1Ac,Cry2Ab and Vi.3A genes by stri. *** i. thi. analysi.,83% of the farmers planti.g approved vari.ti.s beli.ve that Bt technology control bollworms,whi.e 17% hold contradi.tory ***,among farmers culti.ati.g unapproved vari.ti.s,77% agree on effecti.eness of Bt technology agai.st bollworms,whi.e 23% *** the other hand,67% of farmers planti.g approved vari.ti.s beli.ve that Bt technology does not reduce spray costs,whi.e 33% agree wi.h the ***,78% of farmers culti.ati.g unapproved vari.ti.s express doubt regardi.g i.s role to reduce spray costs,whi.e 22% are i. favour of thi. *** i. opi.i.ns on the effecti.eness of Bt cotton i. controlli.g bollworms and reduci.g spray cost between farmers planti.g unapproved and approved vari.ti.s may stem from several *** major cause i. the heavy i.festati.n of sucki.g i.sects,whi.h i. probably due to the narrow geneti. vari.ti.n of the culti.ated ***,the wi.espread culti.ati.n of unapproved vari.ti.s(21.67%)i. also an i.portant factor to cause di.ferent opi.i.ns on the effecti.eness of Bt *** Based on our fi.di.gs,we propose that the i.effecti.e control of pests on cotton crop may
