The electrodeposition of black Ni-Co alloy film from Watts nickel solution and the effects of benzotriaozole and imidazole as the additives were studied. The electrolyte consists of NiSO4, NiC12, H3BO3, COSO4 and KNO3. The cathode current efficiency and the throwing power of the solution and the film adhesion to the mild steel metallic foil were determined by standard methods. The crystal structure, lattice parameter, crystal orientation and crystal size were analyzed by X-ray diffraction （XRD）. Moreover, the surface morphology and elemental composition of the black Ni-Co alloy films were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy （EDX） techniques. The darkness of the black films increases with increasing the incorporation of Co ion into the films. The XRD studies reveal that the black Ni-Co alloy films exhibit Ni （11 l） as the preferred orientation.

The electroless deposition process of copper plating consisting of TEA and EDTA as complexing agents,paraformaldehyde as reducing agent,and 2-mercaptobenzothiozole as stabilizer and gelatin and animal glue as additives was *** stability of the electroless copper solution was monitored by measuring the absorbance of the solution with a UV-Visible spectrophotometer and the solution was quite stable up to 15 *** adhesion of copper films on mild steel foil was assessed by standard bend test and exhibited good *** XRD results indicate that the copper films have a(111) ***,the additives suppress the predominant(111) plane crystal growth and increase the rate of(220) texture crystal *** crystal size of the copper films was calculated using the Scherrer formula from the predominant *** and AFM studies reveal that these two additives modify the crystal structure,grain size and surface morphology of the copper *** cyclic voltammetry studies reveal that the additives are adsorbed on the electrode surface and inhibit the rate of *** polarization and electrochemical impedance studies reveal that the deposits produced in the presence of additives display higher corrosion resistance.

Rhododendrons in Indian Himalayan Region: Diversity and Conservation

The genus Rhododendron of Indian Himalayan Region (IHR) has been enumerated in the present paper. A total of 87 species, 12 subspecies and 8 varieties of Rhododendrons recorded in IHR, among these 6 species and one subspecies are reported from Western Himalaya. The maximum concentration of 86% observed in Arunachal Pradesh (75 species). The species of Rhododendrons exhibit significant diversity in habit and broad range of distribution from the altitude of 800-6000 m. and the best range is observed in 3001-3500 m altitudes. In analysis revealed 20 taxa are endemic, 30 are rare, 24 are threatened / endangered, 3 are vulnerable and 47 taxa have to be assessed. The major threats to rhododendrons are deforestation and unsustainable extraction for firewood and incense by local people has been discussed.

Hydrographical parameters and phytoplankton assemblages were determined along the Pondicherry, Parangipettai and Nagapattinam coastal waters, southeast coast of India. All the hydrographical parameters such as sea surface temperature, salinity, p H, total alkalinity, dissolved oxygen and nutrients like nitrate, nitrite, inorganic phosphate and reactive silicate, chlorophyll a and phytoplankton assemblages were studied for a period of five months(May, August, September 2010, March and November 2011). Over 121 species of phytoplankton represented by 93 species of diatoms, 16 species of dinoflagellates, 9 species of blue-green algae, 2 species of greens and 1 species of silicoflagellate were recorded. High phytoplankton species diversity was found in March 2011 when salinity and nitrate concentrations were low and reactive silicate and inorganic phosphates were moderate. Species diversity was low during May 2010 when increased sea surface temperature, salinity and low nutrients availability were observed. Coscinodiscus centralis, Diatoma vulgaris and Proboscia alata were dominant, especially Coscinodiscus sp. distributed in all stations whereas Skeletonema costatum, Odontella sinensis and Ditylum brightwellii were abundant in August and September 2010. From principal component analysis and multiple regression analysis, it is evident that variables like sea surface temperature and dissolved oxygen are the most important factors influencing the seasonal pattern of phytoplankton population.

1　引　言　　纤维素纺织品含有一些杂质如脂肪、蜡、果胶和天然色素等。为了去除这些杂质 ,坯布必须进行预处理 ,以保证染色、印花和整理的质量。常规的预处理工艺将棉坯布分别通过以下三个步骤转变为完全漂白织物 :退浆去除浆料 ;煮练去除脂肪、蜡和果胶 ;漂白去除色素。考虑到以上三个步骤中总能量消耗很大 ,近年来着重开发了降低能耗的各种其他方法。这些步骤合并起来能减少处理的步骤 ,这已成为一种趋势。本文反映了这些领域的最新情况。2　丝光和煮练一步法　　Duckworth和 Wrennall在 1 977年报导了热丝光的优点和经济效果 ,在此丝光步骤中包含汽蒸室 ,可同时进行煮练。3　退浆、煮练和漂白一步法　　由于能耗持续不断上升 ,有的文献报道了有工业化价值的退浆、煮练和漂白一步法预处理工艺的发展情况。对这一方法的研究还指出 ,采用自身可乳化的溶剂助染系统 ,并加入过氧化氢 ,有可能将退浆、煮练和漂白这三个预处理步骤结合成一步预处理工艺。这项研究还发现经丙烯上浆的织物漂白比较容易 ,成本也较低。有些文献已报道 ,联合工艺在大多数情况下都使用过氧化氢 ,它能降低水和蒸气的消耗。用一步法处理后的织物具有良好的预处理张力强度、极好的白度和很高的润湿性。一步法工艺也可去除诸如外来颗
