This paper addresses the control design for automatic train operation of high-speed trains with protection constraints.A new resilient nonlinear gain-based feedback control approach is proposed,which is capable of guaranteeing,under some proper non-restrictive initial conditions,the protection constraints control raised by the distance-to-go(moving authority)curve and automatic train protection in practice.A new hyperbolic tangent function-based model is presented to mimic the whole operation process of high-speed *** proposed feedback control methods are easily implementable and computationally inexpensive because the presence of only two feedback gains guarantee satisfactory tracking performance and closed-loop stability,no adaptations of unknown parameters,function approximation of unknown nonlinearities,and attenuation of external disturbances in the proposed control ***,rigorous proofs and comparative simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches.

A recent research article published in Science by Ritter et *** that endosomal sorting complexes required for transport(ESCRT)proteins mediate repair of lesions in the cell membrane caused by the pore-forming toxin perforin at sites of cytotoxic T cell engagement.1 Subsequent entry of granzymes and initiation of apoptosis of cancer cells is thus limited,leading to reduced sensitivity against T cell‑mediated cytotoxicity.1 Along these lines,this could constitute a new critical resistance mechanism for T cellbased treatment approaches.

Background:Accumulating evidence suggests that sports participation promotes the development of inhibitory control,but the influences of the sports category and inhibition type still remain *** categorization of sports based on the open-skill(externally paced)and closed-skill(self-paced)continuum allows for the integration of the environment as a factor contributing to sports-related benefits for inhibitory ***:Cross-sectional data from different studies were combined(n=184)to examine the association between open-and closed-skill sports and cognitive control processes related to interference control and response ***(aged 9-14 years)filled in 7-day physical activity recall protocols and completed a Stroop Color-Word or a go/Nogo *** N200,N450,and P300 components of event-related potentials elicited by these tasks were recorded using ***:Partial correlations supported the belief that time spent in open-skill sports was related to higher performance on inhibition ***,path analyses revealed an association between this sports type and a greater negativity in the N200 and N450 amplitudes in both the full sample and group-level *** contrast,no relation was found between sports type and P300 ***:The findings suggest that only the engagement in open-skill sports is associated with more effective conflict monitoring and higher performance on tasks demanding inhibitory control.

Compressed air--a major industrial energy carrier, its filters are used to reach the required cleanliness level of compressed air. These filters, however, introduce a pressure drop which results in a loss of energy. It is shown that over the life cycle of a compressed air filter, the pressure drop dominates the total energy consumption and subsequently, the carbon footprint. From an economic as well as ecologic point of view, a reduction of the pressure drop is hence of utmost importance. Based on this finding and structuring, the wide range of applications and operational parameters, a pragmatic and technically feasible eco-labeling system for compressed air filters was developed as a decision supporting tool. Using this tool, procurement managers as well as the process engineers and environmental officers are able to steer the selection of suitable compressed air filters. The approach has been proposed to and discussed with various representatives of the compressed air filter industry nevertheless there is probably a long way to go to establish such a labeling procedure in industry.

Recent studies have highlighted the effects of various stimuli on the chemical reduction of graphene oxide(go)through green reductant L-ascorbic acid(L-AA);however,the combination of near ultraviolet(NUV)light to increase the reduction rate has yet to be thoroughly *** this study,drop-casted go films were subjected to chemical reduction through L-AA with various levels of exposure under 405 nm NUV *** structure and uniformity of go stackings that form the film were characterized through scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and wide-angle x-ray scattering(WAXS).Additionally,WAXS was used to track the removal of oxygen-containing functional groups along with Fourier-transform infrared(FT-IR)spectroscopy and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)as a function of L-AA and NUV light exposure *** results demonstrated that the interaction between L-AA and NUV exposure has a significant effect on the reduction of ***,the results that yielded the highest reduction(C-C bond concentration of 60.7%)were the longest L-AA and NUV light exposure times(48 hours and 3 hours,respectively).This report provides a study on the effects of NUV on the green reduction of go films through L-AA with potential application in solar energy and chemical sensing applications.

Giant benign tumours of the ovary are rare in the modern world due to the improved technologies and general awareness. They are known to cause pressure symptoms to the surrounding structures. Though they appear frighteningly large, they are amenable to surgical debulking with good results in survival and post operative recovery. Here we would like to present a case where the patient could not access medical care, which led to the presentation of a very large mucinous cystadenoma which responded remarkably to surgical excision. The patient could go back to her normal life following the procedure. Conclusions Giant benign mucinous tumours are a rarely seen in the modern world. They have excellent surgical results and survival rates.

Sex-specific pathways in early cardiac response to pressure overload in mice

Pressure overload(PO) first causes cardiac hypertrophy and then heart failure(HF),which are associated with sex differences in cardiac morphology and *** aimed to identify genes that may cause HF-related sex *** used a transverse aortic constriction(TAC) mouse model leading to hypertrophy without sex differences in cardiac function after 2 weeks,but with sex differences in hypertrophy 6 and 9 weeks after *** gene expression was analyzed 2 weeks after *** genes were classified into functional gene ontology(go) categories and used for pathway *** marker genes of hypertrophy were similarly upregulated in both sexes(α-actin,ANP,BNP,CTGF).Thirty-five genes controlling mitochondrial function(PGC-1,cytochrome oxidase,carnitine palmitoyl transferase,acyl-CoA dehydrogenase,pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase) had lower expression in males compared to females after *** encoding ribosomal proteins and genes associated with extracellular matrix remodeling exhibited relative higher expression in males(collagen 3,matrix metalloproteinase 2,TIMP2,and TGFβ2,all about twofold) after *** confirmed 87% of the gene expression by real-time polymerase chain *** go classification,female-specific genes were related to mitochondria and metabolism and males to matrix and *** studies confirmed the upregulation of PGC-1 by *** downregulation of metabolic genes in female hearts and increased protein synthesis capacity and deregulation of matrix remodeling in male hearts characterize the sex-specific early response to *** differences could contribute to subsequent sex differences in cardiac function and HF.
