Escalating cyber security threats and the increased use of Internet of Things(IoT)devices require utilisation of the latest technologies available to supply adequate *** aim of Intrusion Detection Systems(IDS)is to prevent malicious attacks that corrupt operations and interrupt data flow,which might have significant impact on critical industries and *** research examines existing IDS,based on Artificial Intelligence(AI)for IoT devices,methods,and *** contribution of this study consists of identification of the most effective IDS systems in terms of accuracy,precision,recall and F1-score;this research also considers training *** demonstrate that Graph Neural Networks(GNN)have several benefits over other traditional AI frameworks through their ability to achieve in excess of 99%accuracy in a relatively short training time,while also capable of learning from network traffic the inherent characteristics of different *** findings identify the GNN(a Deep Learning AI method)as the most efficient IDS *** novelty of this research lies also in the linking between high yielding AI-based IDS algorithms and the AI-based learning approach for data privacy *** research recommends Federated Learning(FL)as the AI training model,which increases data privacy protection and reduces network data flow,resulting in a more secure and efficient IDS solution.

Objective:To evaluate the pharmacological activity against diarrhea of methanol and petroleum ether extract ofDesmodium puchellum(Family:Fabaceae)***:The extract was evaluated for castor oil-induced diarrhea and enteropooling as well as intestinal motility in *** of the extracts were given to the rats at 200 mg/kg *** was used as a standard drug for ***:The diarrheal severity was reduced significantly(P<0.05)by methanol and petroleum ether extracts by 31.95% and 28.33%,respectively,whereas 54.75% inhibition was found for standard drug loperamide at 5 mg/*** two extracts also significantly(P<0.05) reduced the intestinal volume in case of castor oil induced ***:It is concluded that both fractions contain some biologically active ingredients that are active for anti-diarrheal actions whereas methanol fraction has better potential.

Histoplasma capsulatum is the most common cause of en-demic mycosis in developing countries. It is a self-limited and asymptomatic disease in immunocompetent individu-als but remains a frequent cause of opportunistic infection in patients with compromised immune status. Liver in-volvement as a part of disseminated histoplasmosis is well known. However, liver infection as a primary manifestation of histoplasmosis without evidence of primary lung involve-ment is rare. In conclusion, clinicians should be aware of isolated histoplasmosis affecting the hepatobiliary system, and careful evaluation is warranted to confirm the diagno-sis. Given the appropriate clinical context, histoplasmosis should be considered in both immunocompetent and immu-nocompromised patients, regardless of pulmonary symp-toms, in non endemic as well as endemic areas.

In today’s digitally driven landscape, robust Information Technology (IT) risk assessment practices are essential for safeguarding systems, digital communication, and data. This paper introduces “AssessITS,” an actionable method designed to provide organizations with comprehensive guidelines for conducting IT and cybersecurity risk assessments. Drawing extensively from NIST 800-30 Rev 1, COBIT 5, and ISO 31000, “AssessITS” bridges the gap between high-level theoretical standards and practical implementation challenges. The paper outlines a step-by-step methodology that organizations can simply adopt to systematically identify, analyze, and mitigate IT risks. By simplifying complex principles into actionable procedures, this framework equips practitioners with the tools needed to perform risk assessments independently, without too much reliance on external vendors. The guidelines are developed to be straightforward, integrating practical evaluation metrics that allow for the precise quantification of asset values, threat levels, vulnerabilities, and impacts on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. This approach ensures that the risk assessment process is not only comprehensive but also accessible, enabling decision-makers to implement effective risk mitigation strategies customized to their unique operational contexts. “AssessITS” aims to enable organizations to enhance their IT security strength through practical, actionable guidance based on internationally recognized standards.

Objective: To evaluate the cardioprotective effect of Nigella sativa L.(***) in isoproterenol-induced myocardial infarction(MI).Methods: Groups were treated with different doses of ethanol extract of ***(EENS)and *** oil alone and along with enalapril for 28 *** was induced by subcutaneous administration of isoproterenol(85 mg/kg) in two consecutive *** of cardiac biomarkers and antioxidant enzymes such as creatine kinase–N-acetyl-L-cysteine, lactate dehydrogenase, aspartate aminotransferase, malondialdehyde, superoxide dismutase, reduced glutathione and catalase were evaluated along with gross histopathological ***: Isoproterenol(85 mg/kg) induced MI by causing the significant(P < 0.01)reduction in the activity of cardiac biomarkers(creatine kinase–N-acetyl-L-cysteine,lactate dehydrogenase, aspartate aminotransferase) and antioxidant markers(superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione) along with significant(P < 0.01) increase in the level of ***, histopathological evaluation also confirmed the isoproterenol-induced *** with EENS(800 mg/kg) and combination of EENS(800 mg/kg) with enalapril(1 mg/kg) significantly(P < 0.01) prevented the development of these alteration and restored activity of cardiac biomarkers as well as antioxidant markers almost near to normal *** evaluation of cardiac tissue further confirmed the restoration of biochemical ***: Experimental findings thus indicate that EENS(800 mg/kg) demonstrated cardioprotective effect against isoproterenol-induced MI by restoring cardiac biomarkers and antioxidant status.

Sediment samples from the Gomti River basin were investigated to determine and evaluate trace metal concentrations,their biological effect,and potential ecological and human health risks for adults and *** mean concentrations of trace metals were organized in the descending order of mercury(Hg)(0.08 mg/kg)>chromium (Cr)(0.06 mg/kg)>lead (Pb)(0.05 mg/kg)>arsenic (As)(0.02 mg/kg)>cadmium (Cd)(0.01 mg/kg).The current study illustrated that metals were attributed to the area from natural sources and different anthropogenic sources especially from ***,the concentration levels were lower than the sediment quality guidelines (SQGs) based on the effect-range classifications of threshold effect concentration (TEC) and probable effect concentration (PEC).Therefore,the concentration of the elements showed no adverse biological effects on aquatic *** evaluated potential ecological risk index also revealed the low toxicity to the aquatic ***,the applied sediment quality indices,geo-accumulation index (Igeo),contamination factor (CF),and contamination severity index (CSI) suggested that the contamination levels of the elements were in the acceptable range,and the contamination had not notably impacted on the sediment *** risk index (HI) concerning age groups was significantly less than the threshold limit of 1 indicating that the contamination had no non-carcinogenic risk *** total carcinogenic risk (TCR) was less than a risk value of 1×***,the current study suggests that immediate remediation is not required due to an absence of alarming conditions in the study *** monitoring of the attribution of the metal elements should be done for the betterment of human and environmental health.

There has been a significant interest of researchers to combine different schemes focused on optimizing energy performance while developing aMAC protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs).In this paper,we propose to integrate two cross-layer schemes:dynamic channel polling and packet concatenation using a recent asynchronous MAC protocol“Adaptive&Dynamic Polling MAC”(ADPMAC).ADP-MAC dynamically selects the polling interval distribution based on characterization of incoming traffic patterns using Coefficient of variation(CV).Packet Concatenation(PC)refers to combining the individually generated data packets into a single super packet and sending it at the polling ***,the Block Acknowledgement(BA)scheme has been developed for ADP-MAC to work in conjunction with the packet *** proposed schemes have been implemented in Tiny-OS for Mica2 platform and Avrora emulator has been used for conducting *** results have revealed that the performance both in terms of energy&packet loss improves when ADP-MAC is used in conjunction with the additional features of PC&***,the proposed scheme has been compared with a stateof-art packet concatenation primitive PiP(Packet-in-Packet).It has been observed that ADP-MAC supersedes the performance of PiP in terms of PDR(Packet Delivery Ratio)due to better management of synchronization between source and sink.

Biopreservation systems in foods are of increasing interest for industry and consumers. Bacteriocin producing Lactobacillus spp. is considered Generally Recognize as Safe (GRAS), useful to control the fast development of pathogens and spoiling microbes in food and feed. Lactobacillus spp. was isolated from traditional winter fermented vegetable cucumber & carrot by the use of selective media. Especially De Man, Rogosa and Sharpe (MRS) Agar media were used to isolate the Lactobacillus species. Morphologically identified by gram staining & colony morphology. Biochemically recognized by catalase, oxidase, MRVP & carbohydrate fermentation test. Antimicrobial activity of Lactobacillus spp. was confirmed by Well Diffusion Method. Molecular characterization of bacteriocin protein and molecular weight determined by SDS PAGE method. The isolate was found to be facultative anaerobic, Gram positive, and catalase negative. The result of antimicrobial activity measured by the Arbitrary Unit (AU/ml) of zone of the inhibition. Six isolates found from the sample but most activities exhibited isolate 4 against Bacillus megaterium (55 mm) zone of diameter. The molecular weight of the washed bacteriocin was calculated to be about 40 kDa (Isolate 1) and 15 kDa & 30 kDa (Isolate 5). Bacteriocin protein reduces chemical preservatives and uses in future as biopreservative in food industry.

Genetic,Developmental and Temporal Variability in Nitrate Accumulation and Nitrate Reductase Activity in Medicinal Herb Andrographis paniculata

There is a growing concern over the presence of high concentrations of nitrate in orally consumed herbal remedies. Since nitrate accumulation in the plant body can vary with spatial location in plant and plant development and temporally with photoperiod, understanding the relations between these factors and nitrate contents in the consumed herbs are vital for the development of agrotechnical strategies for nitrate avoidance. Therefore, the distribution profiles of nitrate content and nitrate reductase （NR） activity were analyzed in 14 accessions of Andrographis paniculata （Burm.f.） Wall. ex Nees., a medicinal plant widely used as a component of many herbal teas and medicinal infusions. Significant variation in nitrate accumulation in the plant was observed between the accessions, and most contained nitrate levels beyond the safety limit recommended according to the European Commission＇s Scientific Committee on Food. Nitrate content increased with plant development and leaf age, and that in leaf segment was higher in the middle of the leaf than at its tip or base; the nitrate concentration in plant organ followed the order of petiole 〉 leaf 〉 stem, and it was lower at mid-day than in the early morning or evening. Gradients of NR activity were negatively correlated with nitrate content in all studied temporal and spatial profiles. Identification of the characteristic spatial and developmental profiles of nitrate accumulation and NR activity in A. paniculata can guide the development of harvest strategies, aiming at minimizing nitrate contents in the consumed herbal tissue.
