BACKGROUND Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases independently of other risk ***,data on its effect on cardiovascular outcomes in coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)hospitalizations with varied obesity levels is *** management and patient care depend on understanding COVID-19 admission results in NAFLD patients with varying obesity *** To study the in-hospital outcomes in COVID-19 patients with NAFLD by severity of *** COVID-19 hospitalizations with NAFLD were identified using International Classification of Disease-10 CM codes in the 2020 National Inpatient Sample *** and Obesity Classes Ⅰ,Ⅱ,and Ⅲ(body mass index 30-40)were *** adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events(MACCE)(all-cause mortality,acute myocardial infarction,cardiac arrest,and stroke)were compared between *** regression analyses adjusted for sociodemographic,hospitalization features,and *** Our analysis comprised 13260 hospitalizations,7.3% of which were overweight,24.3% Class Ⅰ,24.1% Class Ⅱ,and 44.3% Class Ⅲ.Class Ⅲ obesity includes younger patients,blacks,females,diabetics,and hypertensive *** multivariable logistic analysis,Class Ⅲ obese patients had higher risks of MACCE,inpatient mortality,and respiratory failure than Class Ⅰ obese *** Ⅱ obesity showed increased risks of MACCE,inpatient mortality,and respiratory failure than Class I,but not *** obesity classes had non-significant risks of MACCE,inpatient mortality,and respiratory failure compared to the overweight *** Class Ⅲ obese NAFLD COVID-19 patients had a greater risk of adverse outcomes than class Ⅰ.Using the overweight group as the reference,unfavorable outcomes were not significantly *** obesity had a greater risk of MACCE regardless of the referent group(overweight or Class Ⅰ obese)compared to overweight NAFLD patients admitte

Multiplicative calculus(MUC)measures the rate of change of function in terms of ratios,which makes the exponential functions significantly linear in the framework of ***,a generally non-linear optimization problem containing exponential functions becomes a linear problem in *** this as motivation,this paper lays mathematical foundation of well-known classical Gauss-Newton minimization(CGNM)algorithm in the framework of *** paper formulates the mathematical derivation of proposed method named as multiplicative Gauss-Newton minimization(MGNM)method along with its convergence *** proposed method is generalized for n number of variables,and all its theoretical concepts are authenticated by simulation *** case studies have been conducted incorporating multiplicatively-linear and non-linear exponential *** simulation results,it has been observed that proposed MGNM method converges for 12972 points,out of 19600 points considered while optimizing multiplicatively-linear exponential function,whereas CGNM and multiplicative Newton minimization methods converge for only 2111 and 9922 points,***,for a given set of initial value,the proposed MGNM converges only after 2 iterations as compared to 5 iterations taken by other methods.A similar pattern is observed for multiplicatively-non-linear exponential ***,it can be said that proposed method converges faster and for large range of initial values as compared to conventional methods.

The presence of an integrator in a reference model of a rotor flux-based model reference adaptive system(RF-MRAS)and non-linearity of the inverter in the output voltage degrade the speed response of the sensorless operation of the electric drive system in terms of DC drift,initial value issues,and inaccurate voltage *** improve the speed response,a compensating voltage component is supplemented by an amending *** compensating voltage is a coalition of drift and offset voltages,and reduces DC drift and initial value *** low-speed operation,inaccurate voltage acquisition distorts the stator voltage critically,and it becomes considerable when the stator voltage of the machine is *** a three-level neutral point clamped inverter in speed-sensorless decoupled control of an induction motor improves the performance of the drive with superior quality of inverter output ***,the performance of the induction motor drive is improved by replacing the proportional-integral(PI)controller in the adaption mechanism of RF-MRAS with an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system(ANFIS)controller.A prototype model of the three-level neutral point clamped inverter(3L-NPC)-fed induction motor drive is fabricated in a laboratory,and its performance for a RF-MRAS,modified RFMRAS,and modified RFMRAS using ANFIS are compared using different benchmark tests.

An experimental program was conducted to determine the dynamic properties of pond ash(PA)and pond ash mixed with admixtures like crumb rubber(CR)and coir fiber(CF)which are wastes of different *** CR and CF were mixed separately with pond ash in a percentage ranging from 0%–20%at an interval of 5%and 0%–2%at an interval of 0.5%by weight of pond ash,*** properties(Shear modulus,Number of cycles to initiate liquefaction,Degradation index and Damping ratio)for pond ash mixes were determined using strain-controlled cyclic tri-axial *** shear strain was kept constant at 1.2%and the frequency varied from 0.4 to 1 *** resistance improves when crumb rubber is added to pond ash,however adding Coir fiber to pond ash has essentially no effect on the number of cycles required to initiate *** dynamic shear modulus decreases when crumb rubber was mixed in pond ash whereas when coir fiber is added to pond ash,the dynamic shear modulus increases significantly.A mix of PA,CR,and CF was also tried to balance the number of cycles required to initiate liquefaction and shear *** mixed sample in the proportion of PA(84%)+CR(15)+CF(1%)can be termed a balanced mix as the number of cycles to initiate liquefaction was more than all PA-CF mixes and also the shear modulus was more than all PA-CR *** ratio increases with increasing frequency of loading(0.4 to 1 Hz).

Earth Air Tunnel Heat Exchanger(EATHE)systems are not so much popular in India because of restricted acces-sibility of ground space in majority of residential and commercial *** the present article,thermal perfor-mance of newly designed helical shaped EATHE system has been compared with conventional U-shaped EATHE system by keeping similar geometrical and operational configuration for the summer(April-June)and winter(December-February),*** this regard,therefore,numerical model of both EATHE systems have been designed and experimentally *** thermal performance of both EATHE systems has been compared in terms of outlet air temperature and *** present numerical study suggested that the newly designed helical EATHE system exhibits better thermal performance with lower ground requirement as compared to con-ventional U-shaped EATHE *** evaluate the thermal comfort potential of EATHE system in office buildings of India,composite climate specific adaptive thermal comfort boundaries has been *** detailed thermal performance behaviour of the EATHE system suggests that an additional 80%of the time;ambient air condi-tions became thermally comfortable during peak summer *** addition,analysis of the results revealed that EATHE system has more potential during heating operation mode to maintain indoor comfort in winter season of composite climate in India.

Swallowing of Casson fluid in oesophagus under the influence of peristaltic waves of varying amplitude

The experimentally verified fact that there is a high pressure zone in the lower part of the oesophagus has established that the earlier models fall short of representing the realistic swallowing process in the oesophagus. Since the high pressure is created by gradually increasing amplitudes of peristaltic waves, swallowing of Casson fluid in oesophagus is mathematically remodeled. It is revealed that in the case of exponentially increasing amplitude, pressure is non-uniformly distributed for different cycles. Pressure increases along the entire length of the oesophagus; and finally toward the end of the oesophageal flow, it increases quite significantly, probably to ensure delivery into the stomach. This is a similar observation for Newtonian as well as non-Newtonian fluids but Casson fluids need more pressure; and hence more efforts are required by the oesophagus to transport the fluid forward. When wave amplitude is small, flow rates are small. In such a case, Casson fluid requires higher flow rates for reflux to occur in comparison to Newtonian fluid. This tendency gradually diminishes with increasing amplitude. For a particular value of amplitude, there is no difference; and beyond that the trends are quite opposite. Thus, Casson fluid is found to be less prone to reflux near the wall. It is also concluded that for the Newtonian fluid as well as for the non-Newtonian Casson fluid, reflux is more likely to occur with increasing amplitude and it is further augmented by the addition of amplifying parameter.

A Comparative Assessment of Temperature Data from Different Sources for Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India

A comparative study of extreme temperature parameters from different sources is carried out by examining standardized anomalies, trends, correlation, and equivalence of datasets. Maximum temperature （Tmax） and minimum temperature （Wmln） for Dehradun, from two different sources such as computed and gridded data from Climatic Research Unit （CRU） and observed data from India Meteorological Department （IMD） are used for 1901-2012. The CRU data are compared initially with IMD, by graphical assessment of standardized anomalies. Subsequently, change points are identified by using Cumulative Sum （CUSUM）-chart technique for trend analysis. The magnitude and significance of trends are determined by applying Sen＇s slope test, and on the basis of these, trends are compared. Further, correlation analysis is carried out and datasets are tested for equivalence by using Wileoxon-Mann Whitney test. The result shows that annual standardized anomalies of CRU data follow the pattern of annual standardized anomalies of IMD data. The CRU data exhibit similar trends and are well correlated with IMD dataset. Moreover, CRU anomaly data are identical with IMD anomaly data in the recent decades. High resolution gridded CRU data have open access and may be more useful due to its spatio-temporal continuity for land areas of the world.
