In.view of the difficulties in.sta.d volume estima.ion.in.n.0}ura. forests, we derived rea. form fa.tors a.d models for volume estima.ion.in.these types of forest ecosystems, usin. Ka.a.n.a.ha. Wildlife Sa.ctua.y a. a.ca.e study. Tree growth da.a.were obta.n.d for a.l trees （dbh 〉10 cm） in.4 plots （25 × 25 m） ra.domly loca.ed in.ea.h of three stra.a.selected in.the forest. The form fa.tor ca.cula.ed for the sta.d wa. 0.42 a.d a.ra.ge of 0.42 0.57 wa. estima.ed for selected species （den.ity 〉10）. The pa.a.eters of model va.ia.les were con.isten. with gen.ra. growth tren.s of trees a.d ea.h wa. sta.istica.ly sign.fica.t. There wa. n. sign.fica.t differen.e （p〉0.05） between.the observed a.d predicted volumes for a.l models a.d there wa. very high correla.ion.between.observed a.d predicted volumes. The output of the performa.ce sta.istics a.d the logica. sign. of the regression.coefficien.s of the models demon.tra.ed tha. they a.e useful for volume estima.ion.with min.ma. error. Plottin. the bia.es with respect to con.idera.le regressor va.ia.les showed n. mea.in.ful a.d eviden. tren. of bia. va.ues a.on. with the in.epen.en. va.ia.les. This showed tha. the models did n.t viola.e regression.a.sumption. a.d there were n. heterosceda.ity or multiculn.0}ity problems. We recommen. use of the form fa.tors a.d models in.this ecosystem a.d in.simila. on.s for sta.d a.d tree volume estima.ion.
