Let G = (V,E) be a graph, where V(G) is a non-empty set of vertices and E(G) is a set of edges, e = uv∈E(G), d(u) is degree of vertex u. Then the first Zagreb polynomial and the first Zagreb index Zg1(G,x) and Zg1(G) of the graph G are defined as Σuv∈E(G)x(du+dv) and Σe=uv∈E(G)(du+dv) respectively. Recently Ghorbani and Hosseinzadeh introduced the first Eccentric Zagreb index as Zg1*=Σuv∈E(G)(ecc(v)+ecc(u)), that ecc(u) is the largest distance between u and any other vertex v of G. In this paper, we compute this new index (the first Eccentric Zagreb index or third Zagreb index) of an infinite family of linear Polycene parallelogram of benzenoid.

In this work we explore the influence of the factors that affect the formation of silver nanoprisms (AgNPs) with distinct size and size distribution as well as the most intense absorption peak shift. Box-Behnken design analysis was applied to optimize the production of silver nanoprism via colloidal synthesis. The analysis of the responses was based on the nanoprisms plasmon peak wavelength related to in-plane dipole (tunable band) at λmax. ≥ 420 nm. The obtained results indicate that Silver ion is the main variable for the tuning of the size and the Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance (LSPR) frequency. By using the Box-Behnken design it was possible to synthesize nanoparticles with a predictable size and to establish a rigorous control of the plasmon frequency at the range of 600 up to 800 nm.

Diffusion Analysis of Message Expansion in STITCH-256

Cryptographic hash functions are built up from individual components, namely pre-processing, step transformation, and final processing. Some of the hash functions, such as SHA-256 and STITCH-256, employ non-linear message expansion in their pre-processing stage. However, STITCH-256 was claimed to produce high diffusion in its message expansion. In a cryptographic algorithm, high diffusion is desirable as it helps prevent an attacker finding collision-producing differences, which would allow one to find collisions of the whole function without resorting to a brute force search. In this paper, we analyzed the diffusion property of message expansion of STITCH-256 by observing the effect of a single bit difference over the output bits, and compare the result with that of SHA-256. We repeated the same procedure in 3 experiments of different round. The results from the experiments showed that the minimal weight in the message expansion of STITCH-256 is very much lower than that in the message expansion of SHA-256, i.e. message expansion of STITCH-256 produce high diffusion. Significantly, we showed that the probability to construct differential characteristic in the message expansion of STITCH-256 is reduced.

Pancreatic pseudocyst or a cystic tumor of the pancreas?

Pancreatic pseudocysts are the most common cystic lesions of the pancreas and may complicate acute pancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis, or pancreatic trauma. While the majority of acute pseudocysts resolve spontaneously, few may require drainage. On the other hand, pancreatic cystic tumors, which usually require extirpation, may disguise as pseudocysts. Hence, the distinction between the two entities is crucial for a successful outcome. We conducted this study to highlight the fundamental differences between pancreatic pseudocysts and cystic tumors so that relevant management plans can be devised. We reviewed the data of patients with pancreatic cystic lesions that underwent intervention between June 2007 and December 2010 in our hospital. We identified 9 patients(5 males and 4 females) with a median age of 40 years(range, 30–70 years). Five patients had pseudocysts, 2 had cystic tumors, and 2 had diseases of undetermined pathology. Pancreatic pseudocysts were treated by pseudocystogastrostomy in 2 cases and percutaneous drainage in 3 cases. One case recurred after percutaneous drainage and required pseudocystogastrostomy. The true pancreatic cysts were serous cystadenoma, which was treated by distal pancreatectomy, and mucinous cystadenocarcinoma, which was initially treated by drainage, like a pseudocyst, and then by distal pancreatectomy when its true nature was revealed. We conclude that every effort should be exerted to distinguish between pancreatic pseudocysts and cystic tumors of the pancreas to avoid the serious misjudgement of draining rather than extirpating a pancreatic cystic tumor. Additionally, percutaneous drainage of a pancreatic pseudocyst is a useful adjunct that may substitute for surgical drainage.

Chickpea yield is decreasing day by day due to drought stress,which could be an immense risk for future food security in developing *** practices could be the most excellent approach to diminish loss due to this abiotic *** current research work was designed to explore the tolerance reaction of chickpea genotypes against management practices,through morphological and biochemical parameters and evaluate yield performance across drought prone location of *** genotypes BD-6048,BD-6045,BD-6090,BD-6092 and eight management practices,e.g.,severe water stress(SWS),i.e.,without irrigation,10 cm thick mulching with rice straw(MRS),10 cm thick mulching with water hyacinth(MWH),organic amendment through compost(OAC)@3 t ha−1,organic amendment through cow dung@5 t ha−1(OACD),organic amendment through poultry manure@2 t ha−1(OAPM),inorganic amendment through proline application(IAPA)as foliar spray and 16 h hydro-priming(HP).The study revealed that the genotypes BD-6048 showed excellent performance because of the highest chlorophyll,carotenoids,phosphorus,potassium,proline and protein *** highest pod number plant−1 also increased seed yield in *** management practices,IAPA increased relative water content,carotenoids,leaf phosphorus and potassium compared to other management practices and severe water ***,BD-6084 was selected as best genotype because of a significant increase in chlorophyll a and b,carotenoids,and relative water content with *** top performing genotypes can be used for releasing variety and cultivated for sustainable production in drought prone area of Bangladesh.

Objective:To identify the differences in cytokine expression between sinonasal tissue from patients treated with Leptospermum (Manuka) honey (LH) irrigation versus normal saline irrigation twice-daily for twelve weeks following sinus surgery (FESS).Methods:Forty-six CRS patients were *** tissue biopsies were collected during FESS and then at 5 and 12 weeks postoperatively during the course of treatment.A multiplex cytokine assay quantified the abundance of 17 cytokines in biopsied *** expression fold-change was analyzed between each time point using a robust linear regression model and compared between the two treatment ***:Compared to the saline irrigation group,five cytokines were differently expressed (CI =95%) in sinonasal tissue obtained from subjects in the LH irrigation group during the 12-week treatment *** IL-6 (P =0.0400),IL-8 (P =0.0398),MCP-1 (P =0.0284),and MIP-1β (P =0.016) were significantly increased in the LH irrigation group compared to the saline irrigation ***-13 was significantly increased in the saline irrigation group compared to the LH group (P =0.0086).Conclusion:LH may potentially act to modulate the expression of IL-6,IL-8,IL-13,MCP-1 and MIP-1β in sinonasal tissue.

Drought is one of the critical conditions for the growth and productivity of many crops including mung bean(Vigna radiata ***).Screening of genotypes for variations is one of the suitable strategies for evaluating crop adaptability and global food *** this context,the study investigated the physiological and biochemical responses of four drought tolerant(BARI Mung-8,BMX-08010-2,BMX-010015,BMX-08009-7),and four drought sensitive(BARI Mung-1,BARI Mung-3,BU Mung-4,BMX-05001)mung bean genotypes under wellwatered(WW)and water deficit(WD)*** WW treatment maintained sufficient soil moisture(22%±0.5%,i.e.,30%deficit of available water)by regularly supplying ***,the WD treatment was maintained throughout the growing period,and water was applied when the wilting symptom *** drought tolerant(DT)genotypes BARI Mung-8,BMX-08010-2,BMX-010015,BMX-08009-7 showed a high level of proline accumulation(2.52–5.99 mg g^(−1) FW),photosynthetic pigment(total chlorophyll 2.96–3.27 mg g^(−1) FW at flowering stage,and 1.62–2.38 mg g^(−1) FW at pod developing stage),plant water relation attributes including relative water content(RWC)(82%–84%),water retention capacity(WRC)(12–14)as well as lower water saturation deficit(WSD)(19%–23%),and water uptake capacity(WUC)(2.58–2.89)under WD condition,which provided consequently higher relative seed *** indicate that the tolerant genotypes gained better physiobiochemical attributes and adaptability in response to drought ***,the genotype BMX-08010-2 showed superiority in terms of those physio-biochemical traits,susceptibility index(SSI)and stress tolerance index(STI)to other *** on the physiological and biochemical responses,the BMX-08010-2 was found to be a suitable genotype for sustaining yield under drought stress,and subsequently,it could be recommended for crop improvement through hybridization *** addition,the identified traits can be used as markers to ide
