Objective:To examine the effect of Rumex crispus(R.crispus)and Rumex sanguineus(R.sanguineus)plant extracts against isolates of Acinetobacter baumannii(A.baumannii)from wounds,including multidrug-resistant strains.Methods:Six prepared Rumex extracts were subjected to liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry.Antimicrobial activity of extracts and pure compounds(catechin,quercetin,isoquercitrin,emodin,and gallic acid)was examined by a microtiter plate method,while for determination of compound binary combinations activity a checkerboard method was applied.Active fractions of extracts were detected by agar-overlay high-performance thinlayer chromatography-bioautography assay followed by liquid chromatography-diode array detection-mass spectrometry analysis.Results:A total of 28 compounds were detected in two extracts of R.crispus and 26 compounds in four different R.sanguineus extracts,with catechin as a dominant component.Anti-A.baumannii activity was confirmed for all six R.sanguineus and R.crispus extracts at the concentration range from 1 to 4 mg/mL.Neither examined single compounds nor their binary combinations exhibited an anti-A.baumannii activity(MIC>256μg/mL).The bioautography showed that fractions with the most prominent anti-A.baumannii activity tended to contain more polar compounds,predominantly flavonol(quercetin and kaempherol)glycosides;but also fractions containing flavanone(eriodictyol)glycosides and anthraquinone(emodin)glycosides;and less polar eriodictyol aglycone.Conclusions:The results justify and elucidate the traditional application of R.sanguineus and R.crispus extracts for wound healing,indicating the necessity for their further examination in combat against multidrug-resistant A.baumannii isolates from wounds.

Lipopeptides are recognized as a structurally diverse group of functional biopeptides.They possess multiple biological,biotechnological and therapeutic applications and are able to affect cell membrane integrity and permeability.It is widely accepted that suppressing the interaction of redooxidation is mainly aimed by inserting functional biopeptides on form alpha-helical peptides or on form antibody.Such types of structured biomaterials have great potential in promoting signal transductions to the most organelles having geometrical and spacial structures similar to endogenous liposome forms such as lysosomes,ribosomes,mitochondria and platelets..Thus,inserting radioactive trace-elements along with biopeptides is necessary in tracing the trajectory of those radioactive micelles that are destined in targeting further complicated disease and growth factor propagation.These techniques are important in determining structure-symmetry and asymmetry leading to meso-spherical crystal-packing modes or to copolymer vesiculization.The main objective of this review is to highlight and elucidate the potential role of lipopeptides in promoting signals at surface/interface of micelles along with their functionalities in repairing cellular and nuclear damages.Moreover,state-of-the-art scientific knowledge is reviewed regarding bioconjugation and structuring charged-mono-layer and/or bi-layer phospholipidic membranes in adherent to signal-biopeptides using some advanced techniques such as ultra-sound probe based polydispersity of radioactive trace-elements assisted microdialysis as micro-separating techniques in between those miscible and immiscible compounds.

Temporal variability in some water quality parameters were investigated through field test and laboratory analysis in Cole Mere over the summer months(June,July and August) of 2013.A total of 10 sites were selected(within the lake) and sampled at approximately month interval.Mean surface water temperature recorded in June,July and August samplings were 14.1°C,21.9°C and 18.2°C respectively.The differences in the mean temperature were statistically significant(p=<0.001).Mean Chlorophyll a concentrations were 9.3 μgl,15.2 μgl and 39.8 μgl for June,July and August respectively and the differences between the months were also statistically significant at p=0.001.The observed temporal variability and elevated summer chlorophyll a concentrations are clear indications of eutrophic condition.However,no significant differences were recorded with regards to p H and dissolved oxygen between the months.

目的指南建议对患者的不健康行为方式和心理健康情况进行筛查。健康风险评估能对患者的需求和提供的照顾做系统识别。研究将对此类评估能否在日常工作中付诸实施做出评价。方法作为群组随机实用试验的一部分,有9家初级保健诊所完成了自我健康报告(my own health report,MOHR)电子版或纸质版健康行为和心理健康评估及咨询和目标配对反馈系统。研究者观察的内容包括:诊所如何将MOHR融入他们的工作流、完成评估工作人员所需的时间、患者完成MOHR评估的百分率(完成率)。结果大多数诊所(60%)同意施用MOHR。如何完成MOHR筛查还要依赖于诊所的资源条件、信息系统能力及患者特性。3家诊所用邮件邀请患者在网络上完成MOHR;1家诊所通过电话完成MOHR;1家诊所邀请患者在诊所内完成MOHR;4家诊所医务人员通过网络协助患者完成MOHR。总体上,纳入研究的3 591例患者中有1 782例患者完成MOHR,完成率为49.6%。实施策略导致完成率不同,由医务人员协助比患者自己答卷的完成率要高(71.2%比30.2%,P<0.001)。研究完成后,由于未加以推广施用,没有诊所能坚持做MOHR评估。填写MOHR,增加了工作人员和临床医生的工作时间,每例平均增加28 min。结论初级保健诊所能够完成健康行为和心理健康评估,但还需为提供有效的咨询做出努力。诊所还需更多的帮助,以确保筛查的实施与保持。

Objectives: While researchers are increasingly recognizing the importance of adjusting waist circumference (WC) for height, no standard has yet been established. In this study we contrast three standard methods for indexing WC by height (using height, root-height and height-squared) via comparisons with age-specific optimal indices. Study Design and Setting: Measurements from 722 male and 746 female Caucasian participants in the Fels Longitudinal Study were used. The three standard waist-circumference indices (as well as an optimal index) were determined for ages 2 through 18, and for every decade thereafter to 70 years of age. Pearson correlations were used to assess the suitability of all indices. Results: The three standard indices remain correlated with the original WC measures, though each was associ-ated with height at some ages. Waist-to-height ratio is suitable for some childhood ages (boys: 5 - 9, 13 - 16;girls: 4 - 7, 9, 11 - 14) but not for adult ages;Root-height works well mostly for older teenage children and adults but not in early childhood and adolescence;Height-squared is nowhere suitable. In both men and women, the optimal indexing factor ranged between root-height and height-squared in childhood, and is close to root-height in adulthood. Conclusions: No one index is most suitable, as WC indexed by root-height is suitable for use with measurements from teenage children and adults, while waist-to-height ratio is generally suitable for use in children. WC indexed by height-squared is nowhere suitable.

“One Health”意指多学科共同合作，为人类健康、动物健康、环境健康三者共同成为一个健康整体而进行的工作和努力。“One Health”是一个新的名词，但是这一概念是很早之前已经存在的。2003年4月7日，华盛顿邮报的Rick Weiss引证了兽医博士William Karesh的话“人类和家禽或者野生动物的健康再也不能分开谈论了，世界上只有‘One Health’，所有的问题解决办法需要我们各个学科的工作人员共同努力，在不同的层面为问题的解决作出贡献。”其实，我国也一直是采用类似的策略来解决复杂的公共卫生与健康问题，只是没有提出相应新的“名词”，也没有进行系统地阐述。为此，我刊特邀美国杜克大学的 Gregory C．Gray 教授撰写此文，以供国内同行借鉴。关于“One Health”，目前国内翻译的名称非常不一致，比如“唯一健康”、“共同健康”、“协同健康”，编者在此不做翻译，希望广大专家、读者广泛讨论，最终能够确定比较合适并广为接受的中文名称。

AIM: To develop a method of labeling and microdissecting mouse Kupffer cells within an extraordinarily short period of time using laser capture microdissection (LCM). METHODS: Tissues are complex structures comprised of a heterogeneous population ofinterconnected cells. LCM offers a method ofisolating a single cell type from specific regions of a tissue section. LCM is an essential approach used in conjunction with molecular analysis to study the functional interaction of cells in their native tissue environment. The process of labeling and acquiring cells by LCM prior to mRNA isolation can be elaborate, thereby subjecting the RNA to considerable degradation. Kupffer cell labeling is achieved byinjecting India ink intravenously, thus circumventing the need for in vitro staining. The significance of this novel approach was validated using a cholestatic liver injury model. RESULTS: mRNA extracted from the microdissected cell population displayed marked increases in colonystimulating factor-1 receptor and Kupffer cell receptor message expression, which demonstrated Kupffer cell enrichment. Gene expression by Kupffer cells derived from bile-duct-ligated, versus sham-operated, mice was compared. Microarray analysis revealed a significant (2.5-fold, q value < 10) change in 493 genes. Based on this fold-change and a standardized PubMed search, 10 genes were identified that were relevant to the ability of Kupffer cells to suppress liver injury. CONCLUSION: The methodology outlined herein provides an approach to isolating high quality RNA from Kupffer cells, without altering the tissue integrity.
