Fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) compos.t.s were widely utilized in civil engineering structures as.t.e retrofit of reinforced concrete (RC) columns. to design FRP jackets safely and economically, the behaviour of such columns should be predicted first. this paper is concerned with the analysis and behaviour of FRP-confined RC circular and rectangular short col- umns subjected to eccentric loading. A simple design-oriented stress-strain model for FRP-confined concrete in a section analysis was first proposed. the accuracy was.t.en proved by two test data. Following that, a parametric study including amount of FRP confinement, FRP strain capacity, unconfined concrete strength and shape of column section is provided. some conclusions were obtained at the end of the paper. the work here will provide a comprehensive understanding of the behaviour of FRP-confined concrete columns. the simplicity of the model also enables a simple equivalent stress block to be developed for direct use in practical design.

A spectral analysis of the vertical pos.t.ons and velocities of 374 open star clusters(OsCs)was carried *** took these OsCs from the Hunt and Reffert catalog;they have an average age of about 10 million years,and are located on the galactic plane XY in a narrow zone inclined by 25°to the galactic axis *** following estimates of the parameters of the Radcliffe wave were obtained:(a)the maximum value in periodic perturbations of vertical coordinates Z_(max)=92±10pc with the wavelength of these perturbations λ_(z)=4.82±0.09 kpc;(b)the maximum value of the velocity of vertical disturbances Wmax=4.36±0.12km s^(-1) with disturbance wavelengthλ_(W)=1.78±0.02 *** that the results of the vertical velocity analysis are first-class in accuracy and completely new.

the network of Himalayan roadways and highways connects some remote regions of valleys or hill slopes,which is vital for India’s socio-economic *** to natural and artificial factors,frequency of slope instabilities along the networks has been increasing over last few *** of stability of natural and artificial slopes due to construction of these connecting road networks is significant in safely executing these roads.t.roughout the *** rock mass classification methods are generally used to assess.t.e strength and deformability of rock *** study assesses slope stability along the NH-1A of Ramban district of North Western *** structurally and non-structurally controlled rock mass classification systems have been applied to assess.t.e stability conditions of 14 *** evaluating the stability of these slopes,kinematic analysis was performed along with geological strength index(GsI),rock mass rating(RMR),continuous slope mass rating(CosMR),slope mass rating(sMR),and Q-slope in the present *** sMR gives.t.ree slopes as completely unstable while CosMR suggests four slopes as completely *** stability of all slopes was also analyzed using a design chart under dynamic and static conditions by slope stability rating(ssR)for the factor of safety(Fos)of 1.2 and 1 respectively.Q-slope with probability of failure(PoF)1%gives.t.o slopes as stable *** slope angle has been determined based on the Q-slope safe angle equation and ssR design chart based on the *** value ranges given by different empirical classifications were RMR(37-74),GsI(27.3-58.5),sMR(11-59),and CosMR(3.39-74.56).Good relationship was found among RMR&ssR and RMR&GsI with correlation coefficient(R 2)value of 0.815 and 0.6866,***,a comparative stability of all these slopes based on the above classification has been performed to identify the most critical slope along this road.

sP100 is an antiviral protein that restricts.t.e productive stage of human papillomavirus(HPV)and multiple other viruses,and viruses in turn block sUMO-1-mediated stabilization of sP100 and promotes its degradation(table s1).Interferon(IFN)signaling could still produce more sP100 through transcription to counteract viruses.1 Viruses also disable the transcriptional up-regulation of sP100 to achieve persistent infection in hosts.

the scientific community faces.t.e challenge of measuring progress.t.ward biodivers.t. targets and indices have been traditionally ***,recent inventories in secondary tropical mountain forests using traditional biodivers.t. indices have yielded results.t.at are indistinct with primary *** shows.t.e need to develop complementary indices.t.at goes beyond species count but integrates.t.e distribution and conservation status of the *** study developed endemicity and conservation importance index for tropical forest that incorporated the distribution and conservation status of the *** indices were applied to ***,a remnant primary mossy forest in Buguias,Benguet,Philippines.t.at resulted to endemicity index of 81.07 and conservation importance index of *** these with secondary forest s.t.s with comparable shannon-Wiener,simpson,Evenness and Margalef’s indices,our endemicity and conservation indices clearly differentiates primary forest(our study s.t.)with higher values from secondary forests with much lower ***,we are proposing these indices for a direct but scientifically-informed identification of specific s.t.s for conservation and protection in tropical ***,our study documented a total of 168 vascular plant species(79 endemic and 12 locally threatened species)in *** are of tropical elements for both generic and species levels with some temperate elements.t.at could be attributed to the s.t.'s high elevation and semi-temperate *** are important baseline information for conservation plans and monitoring of tropical mossy forests.
