Agriculture has played an important role in the growth of the Indian *** and electricity are essential inputs for agriculture *** produces the third-largest amount of electricity in the world,behind China and the *** an incentive to increase production,most states provide free electricity to *** electricity has decreased groundwater levels and increased electricity *** objective of this study was to find out the factors that influenced farmers to adopt a solar water-pumping system in *** samples were randomly *** study examined the entire state of *** hundred and fifty farmers who adopted solar water-pumping systems were interviewed,including 50 banana farmers,50 cotton farmers and 50 groundnut *** data were collected through an *** adoption of solar water-pumping systems by farmers was identified using factor *** software was used to analyse the data *** this study,only two factors contributed to the variance of 59.469%.The adoption of solar water pumps by farmers was influenced by government policy and economic *** economic benefit variance of 33.20%was found,while a government policy variance was 26.27%.A solar water-pumping system has low initial costs,flexible credit policies motivate adoption,solar water-pumping systems can save electricity,and maintenance and repair costs are *** policy that includes solar water-pumping systems is motivated by awareness,subsidies for adoption and a fair price to sell energy *** are recommended to adopt a solar water-pumping system in conjunction with a drip irrigation system to receive additional *** successful scheme will be recommended to other states in India for implementation.

We report the modulational instability （MI） analysis for the modulation equations governing the propagation of coherent polarized light through a nematic liquid crystal （NLC） slab, in the limit of low light intensity and local material response. The linear stability analysis of the nonlinear plane wave solutions is performed by considering both the wave vectors （k,l） of the basic states and wave vectors （K,L） of the perturbations as free parameters. We compute the MI gain, and the MI gain peak is reduced and the stable bandwidth is widened with the increase of the strength of the applied electric field. Further, we invoke the extended homogeneous balance method and Exp-function method aided with symbolic computation and obtain a series of periodic solitonic humps of nematicon profiles admitting the propagation of laser light in the NLC medium.

In this paper we present a synchronization method for chaotic Lur＇e systems by constructing a new piecewise Lyapunov function. Using a delayed feedback control scheme, a delay-dependent stability criterion is derived for the synchronization of chaotic systems that are represented by Lur＇e systems with deadzone nonlinearity. Based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and by using some properties of the nonlinearity, a new delay-dependent stabilization condition for synchronization is obtained via linear matrix inequality （LMI） formulation. The criterion is less conservative than existing ones, and it will be verified through a numerical example.

The northernmost region of south America has great potential for wind energy production and is a strategic area for the energy tran*** analysed data from ERA5-Land global reanalysis from 1980 to 2020 to determine the wind power potential in this *** aim was to identify areas with a high potential for wind energy that could be used to supply energy in case of drought in the region or increases in fuel *** compared data from 19 meteorological stations located in Colombia with ERA5-Land reanalysis data to generate reliable information for the feasibility and operation of wind *** to our analysis,the Colombian Caribbean and Coastal Plain have monthly average wind speeds at 90 m ranging from 4.85 to 10.34 m/s and 3.79 to 6.62 m/s,*** on wind power density calculations,these regions have the highest wind power density in our study,with a monthly average of between 250 and 399 W/m^(2).The Caribbean Region had a 69%increase in wind power density from January to July compared with the annual *** wind power density in the plains increased from January to March,while the Mountain Region had higher anomalies from May to *** Alta Guajira and ParaguanáPeninsula have great potential to generate wind energy due to their privileged geographical *** ERA5 offers valuable information about wind availability in time and space,it cannot represent the influence of local effects on wind patterns for the Mountain Region.

Peristaltic motion induced by a surface acoustic wave of a viscous, compressible and electrically conducting Maxwell fluid in a confined parallel-plane microchannel through a porous medium is investigated in the presence of a constant magnetic field. The slip velocity is considered and the problem is discussed only for the free pumping case. A perturbation technique is employed to analyze the problem in terms of a small amplitude ratio. The phenomenon of a “backward flow” is found to exist in the center and at the boundaries of the channel. In the second order approximation, the net axial velocity is calculated for various values of the fluid parameters. Finally, the effects of the parameters of interest on the mean axial velocity, the reversal flow, and the perturbation function are discussed and shown graphically. We find that in the non-Newtonian regime, there is a possibility of a fluid flow in the direction opposite to the propagation of the traveling wave. This work is the most general model of peristalsis created to date with wide-ranging applications in biological, geophysical and industrial fluid dynamics.

This paper studies the effect of sample size on the stress-strain behavior and strength characteristics of geotextile reinforced sand using the finite element numerical analysis. The effect of sample size was investigated by studying the effects of varying the number of geotextile layers, the confining pressure and the type of geotextile. Modeling was performed on samples with five different diameters: 38, 100, 200, 500 and 600 mm. The elastic-plastic Mohr-Coulomb model was used to simulate sand behavior. Results showed that small-sized samples show higher values of peak strength and higher axial strain at failure in comparison with large-sized samples. The size effect on the behavior of samples became further apparent when the number of geotextile layers was increased or the confining pressure was decreased. In addition, the results indicated that the magnitude of the size effect on the mechanical behavior of reinforced sand decreases with an increase in the sample size.

Continuous segregation of a binary mixture of heterogeneous （different density） solids is carried out in a gas-solid fluidized bed. We investigate how gas velocity, solids feed rate, flotsam feed composition, bottom discharge pipe diameter, and minimum fluidization velocity ratio of the flotsam to jetsam parti- cles influence the solids holdup, separation factor, and product quality （flotsam purity at the top outlet）. The results are interpreted in terms of solids holdup information. The results indicate that the separation factor decreases when the gas velocity, bottom discharge pipe diameter, flotsam feed composition, or the minimum fluidization velocity ratio increase, while the separation factor increases as the solids feed rate increases. The product quality decreases when the gas velocity, solids feed rate, or minimum fluidization velocity ratio increase, while the product quality increases as the bottom discharge pipe diameter or flot- sam feed composition increase. Correlations for predicting the separation factor and product quality are proposed using a logistic model for individual flotsam feed compositions, which satisfactorily compares with the present experimental data.

We review recent our results in the fundamental study of surface-enhanced Raman scattering （sERs） with emphasis on experiments that attempted to identify the enhancement and blinking mechanism using single Ag nanoparticle dimers attached to dye molecules. These results are quantitatively discussed in the framework of electromagnetic mechanism. We also review recent our results in basic sERs applications for biological sensing regarding detections of cell surface molecules and distinction of disease marker molecules under single cell and single molecule level.

Recent analysis of the long term radio light curve of the extremely variableBL Lacertae object AO 0235+16 by Raiteri et al. have revealed the presence of recurrent outburstswith a period of ～ 5.7 +- 0.5 yr. Periodicity analysis of the optical light curve also showsevidence for a shorter period. Here we discuss whether such a behavior can be explained by a binaryblack hole model where the accretion disk of one of the supermassive black holes is precessing dueto the tidal effects of the companion. We estimate the mass of the accreting hole and analyzeconstraints on the secondary mass and the orbital parameters of the system. It is possible toprovide a viable interpretation of the available multiwavelength data.
