In this work, the optical absorption spectra of carbon-nickel films annealed at different temperatures（300-1000 ℃） with a special emphasis on the surface plasmon resonance（sPR） were investigated. The films were grown on quartz substrates by radio-frequency（RF）magnetron co-sputtering at room temperature with a deposition time of 600 s. The optical absorption peaks due to the sPR of Ni particle are observed in the wavelength range of 300-330 nm. With annealing temperature increasing up to 500 ℃ due to the increase in Ni particle size, the intensity of the sPR peaks increases, but weakens with annealing temperature increasing over 500 ℃. The Ni nanoparticle size, the dielectric function of carbon matrix（ε_m） and the plasma frequency of the free electrons（ω_p） at500 ℃have the maximum values of 21.63 nm, 0.471 and5.26 9 10^（15）s^（-1）, respectively. The absorption peak shows a redshift trend up to 500 ℃and then turn to blueshift with annealing temperature increasing over 500 ℃ These observations are in a good agreement with the electrical measurements in temperature range of 15-520 K and the maxwell-Garnett（m-G） effective medium theory（EmT）.

The structural, electronic, and magnetic properties of Vsb in zincblende, and NiAs phases, Vsb （001） film surfaces and its interfaces with Gash （001） have been investigated within the framework of the density functional theory using the FPLAPW＋lo approach. The NiAs structure is more stable than the ZB phase, ZB Vsb is found to a half-metallic ferromagnetic. The V-terminated surfaces retain the half-metallic character, while the half-metallicity is destroyed for sb-terminated surfaces due to surface states, which originate from p electrons. The phase diagram obtained through the ab-initio atomistic thermodynamics shows that the formation energy of ZB Vsb is about 0.1 Ryd. The half-metallicity character is also preserved at Vsb/Gasb （001） interface. The conduction band minimum （CBm） of Vsb in the minority spin case lies about 0.47 eV above that of Gasb, suggesting that the majority spin can be injected into Gasb without being flipped to the conduction bands of the minority spin.

The radial dependence of edge plasma turbulence is investigated in the IR-T1 *** radial profile of the fluctuation level and spectra are measured using an array of Langmuir probes(rake probe)in the r/a=0.75-1.2 *** all radial positions the edge plasma is turbulently unstable,with a broad band fluctuation spectrum in the frequency range f=10-1000 *** relative fluctuation level,as monitored by the ion saturation current J_(+),is always highest near the wall and decreases monotonically toward the plasma center,while the shape of the fluctuation power spectra is almost *** result of this experiment shows that in contrast to the more inner regions,the plasma near the wall does not simply have a small density fluctuation about a mean,but rather a shredded structure in which one can imagine that discrete shreds of plasma interact with one another rather than with the average background.

Plasma-surface interaction experiments on TiN coated stainless steel 316L （s.s.316L） using a plasma focus （PF） device have been performed in an attempt to investigate whether we can use the hardness property of TiN against erosion to increase the lifetime of the mirrors used in plasma diagnostics equipment. Firstly, two similar s.s.316L samples were chosen for this purpose. One of the samples was coated with TiN by using a PF device, while the other was kept intact as a reference for investigating the effect of TiN coating. Then, in order to study the coating effects, these samples were exposed to 200 shots of hydrogen plasma with a total duration of 7 s in a tokamak. Before and after exposure, samples were analyzed by using atomic force microscopy （AFm）, scanning electron microscopy （sEm）, X-ray diffraction （XRD） and a spectrophotometer. It was found that the uncoated sample was severely damaged, its reflection dropped significantly, and it developed some cracks and lines, while no significant change was observed on the surface characteristic of the coated sample. moreover the weight loss of the uncoated sample was higher in comparison to the coated one. Therefore the results of this experiment showed that the coating of s.s.316L by TiN using a PF device is a useful method to strengthen it against plasma erosion and with further optimization it could possibly be used in preparing plasma diagnostics mirrors.

The microstructure and impact behavior of A356 aluminum alloy were studied after melt treatment processes of grain refinement and modification under both non-heat treated and T6 heat treated conditions. The modification and grain refinement were done with the addition of Al-10%sr and Al-5Ti-1B master alloys, respectively. All casting parameters were kept constant in order to focus on the influence of mentioned treatments. The results indicate that the eutectic silicon morphology is the main parameter to control the impact behavior of alloy. Consequently, the individual grain refinement of as-cast alloy does not improve the impact toughness as the modification does. While, simultaneous grain refinement and modification provide higher impact toughness in comparison with individual treatments. T6 heat treatment of the alloy improves the impact toughness under all melt-treated conditions. This is related to the further modification of eutectic silicon particles. To verify the results and clarify the mechanisms, three-point bending test and fractography were used to interpret the improvement of impact toughness of the alloy.

This study evaluated the impact of thermal treatment and lactic acid bacteria fermentation of sorghum on the antioxidant,antidiabetic,nutritional and metabolite *** cooking and pressurized cooking improved the antioxidant capacity compared to *** of wet cooked(H95F)and pressurized cooked samples(H121F)further enhanced the ABTs and DPPH antioxidant capacity by 2.4 and 2.0 times;and 1.5 and 1.8 times higher than raw,*** acidilactici OHFR1 fermentation of sorghum m20 genotype after wet cooking at 60℃,80℃ and 95℃ significantly decreasedα-glucosidase inhibition to 39.1%,40.6% and 46.4%,respectively,compared to raw(51.6%).However,α-glucosidase inhibition significantly increased to 70.1% after pressurized cooking and ***,28 metabolites including phenolic compounds,amino acids and their derivatives,peptides and microbial metabolites were identified in sorghum m20 using UHPLC-Q-TOF-ms/ms non-targeted approach after *** to the raw sorghum sample,wet cooking and pressurized cooking resulted in 9 differential metabolites *** after wet and pressurized cooking resulted in 4 and 14 differential metabolites,respectively,compared to the *** findings confirm the potential of thermal treatment and fermentation to significantly modify sorghum bioactive components and their use as functional ingredients in the management of diabetes.

水是人类生活中不可缺少的资源之一,水资源的短缺使得世界各国对其再生或再利用越来越关注。过氧乙酸和过甲酸是强效消毒剂,两者具有相近的氧化电位,PAA是一种常用的水处理消毒剂,而PFA在水处理方面的应用还比较少。抗生素作为一种广泛使用的药物,通过人类活动排放到水体环境中。作为一种微污染物,水中的抗生素会导致耐药细菌的传播,对人类健康造成严重的威胁。因此,本文对抗生素与水体中细菌的相互作用以及抗生素对细菌的灭活途径进行了研究。本研究使用大肠杆菌为代表细菌,因为其具有结构简单、生长周期短。本文分别使用PAA(1.5 mg/L 14 min)和PFA(1.7 mg/L 14/16 min接触时间)处理抗性的和非抗性的大肠杆菌以及两者的混合菌种,对其灭活动力学进行比较和统计分析。然后,本研究比较了PAA和PFA两种消毒剂灭活处理后大肠杆菌在LB培养基(0,30μg/m L)和磷酸盐缓冲溶液(PBs 0,30μg/m L)中的复活能力(CFU/ml)。结果表明,在抗生素存在的LB培养基中的抗性大肠杆菌以及混合菌种具有较好的复活能力,而在营养物质缺乏的PBs溶液中抗性大肠杆菌以及混合菌种的复活能力可以忽略不计。此外,本文采用分光光度计的方法对PFA和PAA进行了定量分析,这也是之前没有被报道过的。最后,本文研究了常用混凝剂(Fe Cl3)Fe3+的影响,结果表明Fe3+会增加两种消毒剂的灭活时间。本文重点比较了消毒剂对抗性和非抗性大肠杆菌生长的影响和灭活作用,以及PFA消毒后两种大肠杆菌的复活能力,这是之前的研究没有报道过的。

surgical Outcomes of spinal Tumour: Experiences of 48 Cases at Referral Neurosurgery Hospital in Bangladesh

Background: spinal tumour has a great morbidity. Objective: The purpose of the present study was to see the outcome of the spinal tumour surgery. methodology: Patients with spinal tumor have undergone surgery in neurospine unit of National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh from may 2013 to march 2015 for a period of 23(twenty three) months. Plain X-ray and mRI were done in all cases. All patients have undergone surgery through posterior midline approach. They were evaluated preoperatively and at discharge usually on 10sup>thsup> postoperative day after stitch removal and advised to attend in follow up clinic after 2 months of surgery. Result: 50 - 59 years age group was observed as most vulnerable for tumor occurrence (23 cases, 47.9%). The male female ratio was 1:1.3. The highest number (28 cases, 58.4%) of tumor was observed in thoracic region but the highest variety was schwannoma (33 cases, 68.7%). Initial presentation of patients was pain (32 cases, 66.7%), motor disturbances (9 cases 18.7%), sensory disturbances (5 cases 10.4%) and sphincter disturbances (2 cases 4.2%). symptomatic improvement was in 44 (91.7%) patients whereas improvement in Frankel scale was observed in 10 (20.8%) patients during follow up. 4 (8.4%) patients deteriorated and there was no death in this series. Conclusion: In conclusion, majority of the spinal tumour patients are presented with schwannoma with good symptomatic improvement.

The study was carried out to develop and compare Ginger candy from fresh indigenous and China Ginger. Ginger was immersed into the sugar solution with the concentrations of 50%, 60% and 70% sugar solution. moisture, ash, protein, fat, crude fiber and total sugar content and organoleptic quality and microbial status of the prepared candy were analyzed. moisture, ash, protein, fat and crude fiber content was found to be lower with increased concentration of sugar solution used, whereas total sugar content was found to be higher. Total bacterial count was increased with increasing the concentration of sugar solution. The best characteristic of Ginger candy was found with 50% sugar solution, with highest nutrient and lowest microbial load than candy prepared with 60% and 70% sugar solution.
