This study investigates the attitudes and concerns of the Australian public toward connected and autonomous vehicles(CAVs),and the factors influencing their willingness to adopt this *** a comprehensive survey,a diverse group of respondents provided valuable insights toward various CAV scenarios such as riding in a vehicle with no driver,self-driving public transport,self-driving taxis,and heavy vehicles without *** results highlight the significant impact of safety concerns about automated vehicles on individuals’attitudes across all *** levels of concern were associated with more negative attitudes,and a strong correlation between concerns and opposition underlines the necessity of addressing these apprehensions to build public trust and promote CAV ***,nearly 70%of respondents felt uncomfortable driving next to a CAV,but they displayed more confidence in adopting automated public transport in the near ***,around 40%of participants indicated a strong willingness to purchase a CAV,primarily driven by the desire to reduce their carbon footprint and safety ***,respondents with health conditions or disability exhibited heightened interest(almost double those without health conditions)in CAV *** differences emerged in attitudes and preferences toward CAVs,with women expressing a greater level of concern and perceiving higher barriers to CAV *** emphasizes the importance of employing targeted approaches to address the specific concerns of different *** study also underscores the role of trust in technology as a significant barrier to CAV deployment,ranking high among respondents’*** overcome these challenges and facilitate successful CAV deployment,various strategies are suggested,including live demonstrations,dedicated routes for automated public transport,adoption incentives,and addressing liability *** findings from this st

Direct microwave leaching conditions of rare earth elements in fluorescent wastes

The luminescent phosphor powder in the fluorescent lamp constitutes 2%of the lamp’s *** can be mentioned that fluorescent wastes are a crucial raw material to produce rare earth *** the present study,microwave leaching process was conducted to dissolve rare earth elements yttrium(Y),europium(Eu),and remaining rare earth elements(REEs)present in the phosphor powder of the fluorescent *** the yields were *** the microwave leaching process,the effects of the temperature(80-160℃),acid type(hydrochloric acid(HCl),nitric acid(HNO_(3)),sulphuric acid(H_(2)sO_(4))),acid concentration(0.5-6 mol/L),solid to liquid ratio(0.1:10-0.5:10)and reaction time(5-90 min)parameters on leaching efficiencies of varying rare earth elements and calcium were *** highest yield was obtained in the direct microwave leaching of fluorescent waste with the experimental conditions of 6 mol/L HCl,160℃,0.1:10 solid-to-liquid ratio(s:L),and 90 *** energy calculations were made,and kinetic models of the reactions were obtained,and it is observed that Y and Eu dissolution is diffusion-controlled,on the other hand,lanthanum(La),cerium(Ce),and terbium(Tb)were examined to be chemical reaction ***,calcium(Ca)and gadolinium(Gd)seem coherent with the mixed ***,mathematical models of all experimental studies are created with the response surface Box-Behnken method and the correlation coefficients of all the models are over 90%.

Thanks to the emerging integration of algorithms and simulators, recent Driving simulators (Ds) find enormous potential in applications like advanced driver-assistance devices, analysis of driver’s behaviours, research and development of new vehicles and even for entertainment purposes. Driving simulators have been developed to reduce the cost of field studies, allow more flexible control over circumstances and measurements, and safely present hazardous conditions. The major challenge in a driving simulator is to reproduce realistic motions within hardware constraints. motion Cueing Algorithm (mCA) guarantees a realistic motion perception in the simulator. However, the complex nature of the human perception system makes mCA implementation challenging. The present research aims to improve the performance of driving simulators by proposing and implementing the mCA algorithm as a control problem. The approach is realized using an actual vehicle model integrated with a detailed model of the human vestibular system, which accurately reproduces the driver’s perception. These perception motion signals are compared with simulated ones. A 2-DOF stabilized platform model is used to test the results from the two proposed control strategies, Proportional Integrator and Derivative (PID) and model Predictive Control (mPC).

In today’s rapidly evolving landscape of communication technologies,ensuring the secure delivery of sensitive data has become an essential *** overcome these difficulties,different steganography and data encryption methods have been proposed by researchers to secure *** of the proposed steganography techniques achieve higher embedding capacities without compromising visual imperceptibility using LsB *** this work,we have an approach that utilizes a combinationofmost significantBit(msB)matching andLeast significant Bit(LsB)*** proposed algorithm divides confidential messages into pairs of bits and connects them with the msBs of individual pixels using pair matching,enabling the storage of 6 bits in one pixel by modifying a maximum of three *** proposed technique is evaluated using embedding capacity and Peak signal-to-Noise Ratio(PsNR)score,we compared our work with the Zakariya scheme the results showed a significant increase in data concealment *** achieved results of ourwork showthat our algorithmdemonstrates an improvement in hiding capacity from11%to 22%for different data samples while maintaining a minimumPeak signal-to-Noise Ratio(PsNR)of 37 *** findings highlight the effectiveness and trustworthiness of the proposed algorithm in securing the communication process and maintaining visual integrity.

Analysis of cohesive particles mixing behavior in a twin-paddle blender:DEm and machine learning applications

This research paper presents a comprehensive discrete element method(DEm)examination of the mixing behaviors exhibited by cohesive particles within a twin-paddle blender.A comparative analysis between the simulation and experimental results revealed a relative error of 3.47%,demonstrating a strong agreement between the results from the experimental tests and the DEm *** main focus centers on systematically exploring how operational parameters,such as impeller rotational speed,blender's fill level,and particle mass ratio,influence the *** investigation also illustrates the significant influence of the mixing time on the mixing *** gain a deeper understanding of the DEm simulation findings,an analytical tool called multivariate polynomial regression in machine learning is *** method uncovers significant connections between the DEm results and the operational parameters,providing a more comprehensive insight into their *** multivariate polynomial regression model exhibited robust predictive performance,with a mean absolute percentage error of less than 3%for both the training and validation sets,indicating a slight deviation from actual *** model's precision was confirmed by low mean absolute error values of 0.0144(80%of the dataset in the training set)and 0.0183(20%of the dataset in the validation set).The study offers valuable insights into granular mixing behaviors,with implications for enhancing the efficiency and predictability of the mixing processes in various industrial applications.
