Experimental and Numerical Investigation of the solar Chimney Power Plant’s Turbine

The solar chimney power plant is a relatively new electricity generation concept, based on renewable energy, combining the greenhouse effect with the chimney suction. The solar chimney powerplant consists of three parts, the solar collector, the chimney and the turbine generator unit, of which the study was focused on the later part. To evaluate the turbine performance inside the solar chimney powerplant, experimental system was constructed in Aswan, Egypt that has a metrological site (23°58'N and 32°47'E) occurs. The system was constructed to evaluate the performance of the solar chimney turbine and power generation characteristic in the hottest site where Aswan is located at the nearest of the Tropic of Cancer at the summer season. Velocity, electric power generation and the turbine efficiency are studying in this work. The numerical analyses were performed by using a commercial code CFX, ANsYs 16.1 to simulate the flow through the turbine and overall system. The study shows that the range of power generated (1.2 W - 4.4 W). It can be estimated, according to the results, the variation trend in pressure drops with the turbine rotation speed increase with small differences when the turbine rotation speed surpasses 1800 rpm with average efficiency of 57%. It is concluded that the theoretical model is basically valid for the system under study, and the CFD simulation can be used conveniently to predict the performance of the system, the comparison between them and experimental result shows a good agreement.

Aims: Prospective pharmacist’s interventions aimed to improve patient’s knowledge and behaviors to adhere to medications in patients with type 2 diabetes with or without cardiovascular medical conditions in primary health care (PHCs) centers in Nyala city, south Darfur state, sudan. methodology and materials: 300 patients were enrolled for assessing adherence with the Brief medication Questionnaire (BmQ) in ten PHCs in Nyala city. We assessed patients’ responses to BmQ pre-and post-interventions plan by: complex interventions, humanitarianism and disease outcomes determined by health-related outcomes (sF-36), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and blood pressure. Results: BmQ scores have improved significantly in four screens (pre-and post-interventions): regimen [4.6 ± 0.2 to 1.8 ± 0.1;P = 0.001], belief [1.6 ± 0.3 to 0.3 ± 0.3;P = 0.007], recall [1.7 ± 0.2 to 0.6 ± 0.2;P = 0.043] and access screens [1.8 ± 0.1 to 0.4 ± 0.1;P = 0.005];which have indicated an improved patients’ adherence to medications. Percentage of subjects reaching target of post prandial blood glucose (PPBG) have increased from 28.0% to 49.3%;[P = 0.02] post interventions. The wadi dahab delta is in a dry, arid coastal zone within Egypt’s south sinai Peninsula’s eastern portion. The primary water source is the Quaternary coastal alluvial aquifer. The groundwater salinity varies from 890to 8213 mg/L, with a mean value of 3417 mg/L. The dissolved major ions have been used to calculate the seawater mixing index(sWmI) using a linear equation that discriminates the groundwater mostly affected by water–rock interaction(sWmI 1>) and other samples mixed with seawater(sWmI sotopic composition of groundwater for specifically chosen groundwater samples ranges from-0.645‰ to +5.212‰ for δ^(18)O and from-9.582‰ to + 22.778‰ for δ^(2)H, where the seawater represented by a Red sea water sample(δ^(18)O + 1.64‰-δ^(2)H + 9.80‰) and reject brine water are considerably enriched the isotopic groundwater values. The geochemical NETPATH model constrained by the dissolved significant ions, isotopes, and the rock aquifer forming minerals as phases indicate the mixing percent with the seawater ranges from 9% to 97% of seawater from 91% to 3% of original recharge water. According to the sEAWAT 3-D flow models, seawater has penetrated the Northeastern dahab delta aquifer, with the intrusion zone extending1500 m inland. The salt dissolution, upwelling of saline water, recharge from the upstream mountain block, and seawater encroachment are the primary aspects contributing to the deterioration of groundwater quality. These findings may have significance for effective groundwater withdrawal management in arid locations worldwide with similar hydrogeological systems.

mineralogical and geochemical characteristics of stream sediments collected from 30 stations in the dahab-Wadi Kid area(southeastern sinai,Egypt)are *** studied sediments contain considerable amounts of heavy minerals,including abundant Fe–Ti oxides,with up to 25.94%index figure that measures the relative abundance of heavy minerals to light *** of the sediments and nature of Fe–Ti oxide intergrowths,in addition to some non-opaque heavy minerals,indicate multiple provenances with contributions from a variety of Neoproterozoic mafic to felsic *** amounts of heavy minerals are derived from schists that belong to the so-called Wadi Kid volcanosedimentary *** to the considerable contribution of the felsic intrusions represented by within-plate granites,the sediments are enriched in REE-bearing minerals(e.g.,monazite,cerianite,La-cerianite and allanite),V-bearing thorite,zircon,and a ZrO_(2) *** majority of Fe–Ti oxides are derived from the mafic intrusions,and they show evidence of pre-,syn-and post-depositional phases of alteration and formation of *** to the geochemical signature of the bulk silt fraction,there is remarkable enrichment of LREEs with distinct negative Eu anomaly,and this supports dominance of a provenance dominated by felsic intrusions(i.e.,the A-type within-plate granite and associated pegmatites).Also,the felsic provenance is responsible for slight abnormality of ∑PU+Th content(up to~37 ppm)and few anomalous samples bear uraniferous zircon and Ce-type *** present paper sheds light on the fertility of the dahab stream sediments in some economic minerals for possible future exploitation,not for gold only,but for potential REEbearing minerals that are needed for a wide spectrum of modern technological industries.
