Diabetes.m.llitus is one of the worldwide largest growing metabolic diseases. In this study the effects of cons.m.tion of raw garlic on serum lipid level, blood sugar and a number of effective hormones on lipid and sugar metabolism (thyroid hormones and insulin) in individuals either with high level of blood sugar or lipid were investigated. Eighty five volunteers having following clinical history enrolled in the study: Group 1: having blood sugar more than 126 mg/dl (30 vo-lunteers);Group 2: having cholesterol higher than 245 mg/dl (30 volunteers);Group 3: having blood sugar over 126 mg/dl and cholesterol more than 245 mg/dl (25 volunteers). In group 1, there wasn’t a sig-nificant differences between biochemical factors be-fore and after garlic cons.m.tion, whereas, in the second group after 6 weeks of garlic cons.m.tion a decline in cholesterol (P s and TG (P s observed but HDL-C (P s in-creased. six weeks after termination of garlic con-s.m.tion, cholesterol (P s and TG (P sed and HDL-C (P s de-creased. In the third group, total cholesterol (P s (P sed while HDL-C was in- creased. Other factors, including thy-roid hormones (T3, T4), TsH and insulin showed no significant alte- ration. In conclusion our results shown that raw garlic cons.m.tion can reduce the FBs and Lipid in hyperglycemic and/or hyperlipidemic individuals.

This study aims to evaluate the solar and wind energy potential across Razavi Khorasan Province,Iran,with a specific focus on the Khaf region.A preliminary asses.m.nt of mean solar radiation,mean wind speeds,and Weibull distribution parameters was conducted for different towns and zones within the *** findings showed that Khaf has favorable characteristics for further *** solar and wind energy metrics examined include global horizontal irradiance,clearness index,wind rose patterns,and turbulence *** a height of 40 m,Khaf’s wind power density reached 1650 W/m^(2),indicating exceptional wind energy generation ***,Khaf received an average annual solar radiation of 2046 kW·h/m^(2),representing significant solar energy *** these substantial renewable resources in Khaf could allow Razavi Khorasan Province to reduce reliance on fossil fuels,improve energy sustainability,and mitigate climate change *** research contributes an in-depth asses.m.nt of Razavi Khorasan's solar and wind energy potential,particularly for the promising Khaf *** work may examine optimal sites for renewable energy projects and grid integration strategies to leverage these resources.

In this study, nonlinear static and dynamic responses of a microcantilever with a T-shaped tip mass excited by electrostatic actuations are investigated. The electrostatic force is generated by applying an electric voltage between the horizontal part of T-shaped tip mass and an opposite electrode plate. The cantilever microbeam is.m.deled as an Euler-Bernoulli beam. The T-shaped tip mass is ass.m.d to be a rigid body and the nonlinear effect of electrostatic force is considered. An equation of motion and its associated boundary conditions are derived by the aid of combining the Hamilton principle and Newton’s.m.thod. An exact solution is obtained for static deflection and mode shape of vibration around the static position. The differential equation of nonlinear vibration around the static position is discretized using the Galerkin method. The system mode shapes are used as its related comparison functions. The discretized equations are solved by the perturbation theory in the neighborhood of primary and subharmonic resonances. In addition, effects of mass inertia, mass.m.ment of inertia as well as rotation of the T-shaped mass, which were ignored in previous works, are considered in the analysis. It is shown that by increasing the length of the horizontal part of the T-shaped mass, the amount of static deflection increases, natural frequency decreases and nonlinear shift of the resonance frequency increases. It is concluded that attaching an electrode plate with a T-shaped configuration to the end of the cantilever microbeam results in a configuration with larger pull-in voltage and smaller nonlinear shift of the resonance frequency compared to the configuration in which the electrode plate is directly attached to it.

sr Fe12-xNixO19 nanoparticles(x = 0–1) were synthesized by a combustion sol–gel method. Their structure, dielectric and magnetic properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(s.m., an LCR metry, and vibrating s.m.le magnetometry(Vsm).The results reveal that all s.m.les of Ni doped compounds(sr Fe12-xNixO19) with x single phase. It appears that the Fe3+ ions are substituted by Ni2+ ions on the crystallographic sites of the sr Fe12O19 structure; however, for x ≥ 0.2, the secondary Ni phase ferrite(Ni Fe2O3) appears, which reduces the saturation magnetization and coercivity. In addition, Ni doping reduces the dielectric constant, dielectric loss, and alternating current(ac) electrical conductivity of the s.m.les. The variation in ac conductivity(σac) with frequency shows that the electrical conductivity in these ferrites is.m.inly attributed to the electron hopping ***; all the single-phase Ni doped s.m.les are suitable for use in magnetic recording media and microwave devices.

In this paper the effects of temperature on the radial breathing modes （RBms） and radial wave propaga- tion in multiwall carbon nanotubes （mWCNTs） are inves- tigated using a continuum model of multiple elastic isotropic shells. The van der Waals forces between tubes are s.m.lated as a nonlinear function of interlayer spacing of mWCNTs. The governing equations are solved using a finite element method. A wide range of innermost radius-to-thickness ratio of mWCNTs is considered to enhance the investigation. The presented solution is verified by comparing the results with those reported in the literature. The effects of temperature on the van der Waals interaction coefficient between layers of mWCNTs are examined. It is found that the variation of the van der Waals interaction coefficient at high temperature is sensible. subsequently, variations of RBm frequencies and radial wave propagation in mWCNTs with temperatures up to 1 600 K are illustrated. It is shown that the thick mWC- NTs are more sensible to temperature than the thin ones.

The fundamental task of mining engineers is to produce more coal at a given level of labour input and material costs, for optimum quality and maximum efficiency. To achieve these goals, it is necessary to automate and mechanize mining operations. mechanization is an objective that can result in significant cost reduction and higher levels of profitability for underground mines. To analyze the potential of mechanization, s.m. important factors such as seam inclination and thickness, geological disturbances, seam floor conditions and roof conditions should be considered. In this study we have used fuzzy logic, membership functions and created fuzzy rule-based methods and considered the ultimate objective： mechanization of mining. As a case study, the mechanization of the Tazare coal seams in shahroud area of Iran was investigated. The results show a low potential for mechanization in most of the Tazare coal seams.

The flow and mixing behavior of two miscible liquids has been studied in an innovative static mixer by using CFD,with Reynolds numbers ranging from 20 to *** performance of the new mixer is compared with those of Kenics,smX,and Komax static *** pressure drop ratio(Z-factor),coefficient of variation(CoV),and extensional efficiency(α)features have been used to evaluate power cons.m.tion,distributive mixing,and dispersive mixing performances,respectively,in all *** model is firstly validated based on experimental data measured for the pressure drop ratio and the coefficient of *** results are consistent with measured data and those obtained by available correlations in the *** new mixer shows a superior mixing performance compared to the other mixers.

Open-sided draft tubes provide an optimal gas distribution through a cross flow pattern between the spout and the annulus in conical spouted *** design,optimization,control,and scale-up of the spouted beds require precise information on operating and peak pressure *** this study,a multi-layer perceptron(mLP)neural network was employed for accurate prediction of these hydrodynamic characteristics.A relatively huge number of experiments were accomplished and the most influential dimensionless groups were extracted using the Buckingham-pi ***,the dimensionless groups were used for developing the mLP model for s.m.ltaneous estimation of operating and peak pressure *** iterative constructive technique confirmed that 4-14-2 is the best structure for the mLP model in terms of absolute average relative deviation(AARD%),mean square error(msE),and regression coefficient(R^(2)).The developed mLP approach has an excellent capacity to predict the transformed operating(msE=0.00039,AARD%=1.30,and R^(2)=0.76099)and peak(msE=0.22933,AARD%=11.88,and R2=0.89867)pressure drops.

The present study is concerned with the computational fluid dynamics(CFD)s.m.lation of turbulent dispersion of immiscible liquids,namely,water–silicone oil and water–benzene through Kenics static mixers using the Eulerian–Eulerian and Eulerian–Lagrangian approaches of the ANsYs Fluent 16.0 *** study the droplet size distribution(DsD),the Eulerian formulation incorporating a population balance model(PBm)was *** the Eulerian–Lagrangian approach,a discrete phase model(DPm)in conjunction with the Eulerian approach for continuous phase s.m.lation was used to predict the residence time distribution(RTD)of *** both approaches,a shear stress transport(ssT)k-ωturbulence model was *** validation purposes,the s.m.lated results were compared with the experimental data and theoretical values for the Fanning friction factor,sauter mean diameter and the mean residence *** reliability of the computational model was further assessed by comparing the results with the available empirical correlations for Fanning friction factor and sauter mean *** addition,the influence of important geometrical and operational parameters,including the number of mixing elements and Weber number,was *** was found that the proposed models are capable of predicting the performance of the Kenics static mixer reasonably well.
