Frost Resistance of Pervious Concrete Mixed with Waste Glass Powder

The contents of waste glass powder(WGP)(0%,10%,15%,20%,25%)and water-binder ratio(W/C)(0.24,0.26,0.28)were used as influencing factors,and the quality loss rate(Δm)and compressive strength loss rate(Δfc)were used as characterization *** Ca/si ratio and main element contents of C-s-H gels with different WGP content were investigated by energy dispersive spectrometry(EDs).The pore structure evolution characteristics of WGP composite cementing materials were investigated by low field nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR).UsingΔfc as the index of frost resistance degradation and Weibull function,the frost resistance degradation of glass doped pervious concrete(WGP-PC)was *** results show that,with WGP,for the same number of cycles,Δm andΔfc decrease and increase with the increase of *** the same WGP content,Δm andΔfc decrease first and then increase with the increase of W/*** 100 freeze-thaw cycles,the samples with WGP content of 20%and W/C of 0.26 have the best *** tests show that with the increase of WGP content,the Ca/si ratio of C-s-H gel decreases at first and then increases with the increase of WGP *** extreme value of Ca/si is 2.36 when WGP is added by 20%.The pore volume of hardened paste with 20%WGP content decreased by 18.6%compared with that of cement system without *** overall compactness of the specimen was *** the basis of the test data,a life prediction model was established according to Weibull *** experiment showed thatΔfc could be used as a durability degradation index,and the slope of the reliability curve became gentle after WGP was added,which reduced the damage degradation rate of PC.W/C was ***'s about 5000 hours.

The investigation of n-type doping holds a significant interest for the application of ***,the doping of an indandione-terminated compound Q-4F with a singlet open-shell ground state was studied using two n-dopants N-DMBI and *** of these two dopants can effectively dope Q-4F due to the large offset between the singly occupied molecular orbital(sOMO)of dopants and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital(LUMO)of Q-4F.N-DMBI has a higher doping ability than LCV as demonstrated by the UV-vis-NIR and EPR ***,in comparison to N-DMBI doped Q-4F,LCV doped system exhibits much higher electrical conductivity and power factor due to its unperturbed molecular packing and favorable morphology after *** optimal conductivity of LCV doped Q-4F is 7.16×10^(-2)±0.16 s·cm^(-1) and the highest power factor reaches 12.3±0.85μW·m–1·K^(-2).These results demonstrate that the modulation of n-dopants is a powerful strategy to balance the doping efficiency and microstructure toward a maximum thermoelectric performance.

Earth system can be categorized into three parts, solid Earth system, surface Earth system, and sun-Earth space system. These three subsystems not only have mutual transmission and coupling relationships in both energy and matter but also involve multiple scales from microscopic to macroscopic. Earth system science is characterized by its globality and unity with a holistic view and a systematic view at multiple scales in both space and time. It focuses not only on the physical, chemical and biological interactions between various geospheres but also on the properties, behaviors, processes, and mechanisms of the entire Earth and its spheres. Although significant progress has been made in the study of internal disciplines of these three subsystems,there is still insufficient understanding of their overall behavior and interactions between individuals, thus facing challenges of different types and levels. The solid Earth system is composed of the crust, mantle, and core. Existing observational techniques struggle to penetrate deep into the mantle, making direct observation and data acquisition difficult;the extreme environments within Earth, such as high temperature, high pressure, and strong magnetic fields, also pose great challenges to observational equipment and scientific experiments. The surface Earth system is an open complex mega-system, in which there are complex interactions and feedback mechanisms among its geospheres(such as atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, pedosphere and lithosphere), leading to difficulties in understanding of its overall behavior and long-term evolution. Biological activities have become increasingly significant in affecting the surface Earth system. The coupling between the internal and external Earth systems becomes more complex. Distinguishing and quantifying the impacts of Earth spherical interactions and biological activities on the surface Earth system is a major challenge. Carbon nanotube(CNT)fibers have great promise for constructing multifunctional fabrics with high electrical conductivity,good electro-heating ability,excellent flexibility,and a low ***,the inter-fiber contacts in the fabric greatly reduce these advantages and limit their ***,a simple pressure-fusing method to fabricate single-wall CNT(sWCNT)fiber non-woven fabrics(NWFs)that are composed of interconnected sWCNT fibers with fused joints is reported,which have good flexibility,a low density of 0.46 g/cm^(3),a high electrical conductivity of 3.7×10^(5)s/m,and a record high specific electrical conductivity of 803(s·m^(2))/*** also showed excellent electrical heating ability,so that a temperature of~160℃was rapidly reached at a low voltage of 2 *** with their low density,the sWCNT fiber NWFs are promising for use as a heating unit for low temperature battery protection and de-icing applications.

Bacterial communities and enzyme activities during litter decomposition of Elymus nutans leaf on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau

The dominant plant litter plays a crucial role in carbon(C)and nutrients cycling as well as ecosystem functions maintenance on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau(QTP).The impact of litter decomposition of dominant plants on edaphic parameters and grassland productivity has been extensively studied,while its decomposition processes and relevant mechanisms in this area remain poorly *** conducted a three-year litter decomposition experiment in the Gansu Gannan Grassland Ecosystem National Observation and Research station,an alpine meadow ecosystem on the QTP,to investigate changes in litter enzyme activities and bacterial and fungal communities,and clarify how these critical factors regulated the decomposition of dominant plant Elymus nutans(***)*** results showed that cellulose and hemicellulose,which accounted for 95%of the initial lignocellulose content,were the main components in *** litter *** litter enzyme activities ofβ-1,4-glucosidase(BG),β-1,4-xylosidase(BX),andβ-D-cellobiosidase(CBH)decreased with decomposition while acid phosphatase,leucine aminopeptidase,and phenol oxidase increased with *** found that both litter bacterial and fungal communities changed significantly with ***,bacterial communities shifted from copiotrophic-dominated to oligotrophic-dominated in the late stage of litter *** least squares path model revealed that the decomposition of *** litter was mainly driven by bacterial communities and their secreted *** and Proteobacteria were important producers of enzymes BG,BX,and CBH,and their relative abundances were tightly positively related to the content of cellulose and hemicellulose,indicating that Bacteroidota and Proteobacteria are the main bacterial taxa of the decomposition of *** *** conclusion,this study demonstrates that bacterial communities are the main driving forces behind the decomposition of *** litter,high

Electroacupuncture improves myocardial fibrosis in heart failure rats by attenuating ECM collagen deposition through modulation of TGF-β1/smads signaling pathway

Background: To explore the effects of electroacupuncture on cardiac function and myocardial fibrosis in rat models of heart failure, and to elucidate the underlying mechanism of electroacupuncture in heart failure treatment. Methods: Healthy male sprague-Dawley rats were allocated into three groups: sham group, Model group, and electroacupuncture (Model + EA) group, with each group comprising 8 rats. The model underwent a procedure involving the ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery to induce a model of heart failure. The Model + EA group was used for 7 consecutive days for electroacupuncture of bilateral shenmen (HT7) and Tongli (HT5), once a day for 30 min each time. Left ventricular parameters in rats were assessed using a small-animal ultrasound machine to analyze changes in left ventricular end-diastolic volume, left ventricular end-systolic volume, left ventricular ejection fraction, and left ventricular fractional shortening. serum interleukin-1β (IL-1β), cardiac troponin (cTn), and N-terminal brain natriuretic peptide precursor levels were measured using ELIsA. Histopathological changes in rat myocardium were observed through HE staining, while collagen deposition in rat myocardial tissue was assessed using the Masson staining method. Picro sirius red staining, immunohistochemical staining, and RT-qPCR were utilized to distinguish between the various types of collagen deposition. The expression level of TGF-β1 and sMAD2/3/4/7 mRNA in rat myocardial tissues was determined using RT-qPCR. Additionally, western blot analysis was conducted to assess the protein expression levels of TGF-β1, sMAD3/7, and p-sMAD3 in rat myocardial tissues. Results: Compared with the sham group, the left ventricular ejection fraction and left ventricular fractional shortening values of the Model group were significantly decreased (P stolic volume and left ventricular end-systolic volume values were remarkably increased (P < 0.01)

Zinc-ion batteries are promising for large-scale electrochemical energy storage systems,which still suffer from interfacial issues,e.g.,hydrogen evolution side reaction(HER),self-corrosion,and uncontrollable dendritic Zn *** the regulation of electric double layer(EDL)has been verified for interfacial issues,the principle to select the additive as the regulator is still ***,several typical amino acids with different characteristics were examined to reveal the interfacial behaviors in regulated EDL on the Zn *** charged acidic polarity(NCAP)has been unveiled as the guideline for selecting additive to reconstruct EDL with an inner zincophilic H_(2)O-poor layer and to replace H_(2)O molecules of hydrated Zn^(2+)with NCAP *** the synergistic effects of EDL regulation,the uncontrollable interface is significantly stabilized from the suppressed HER and anti-self-corrosion with uniform ***,by adding NCAP glutamate,a high average Coulombic efficiency of 99.83%of Zn metal is achieved in Zn|Cu asymmetrical cell for over 2000 cycles,and NH4V4O10|Zn full cell exhibits a high-capacity retention of 82.1%after 3000 cycles at 2 A g^(-1).Recapitulating,the NCAP principle posted here can quicken the design of trailblazing electrolyte additives for aqueous Zn-based electrochemical energy storage systems.
