Damage constitutive model of lunar soil simulant geopolymer under impact loading

Lunar base construction is a crucial component of the lunar exploration program,and considering the dynamic characteristics of lunar soil is important for moon ***,investigating the dynamic properties of lunar soil by establishing a constitutive relationship is critical for providing a theoretical basis for its damage *** this paper,a split Hopkinson pressure bar(sHPB)device was used to perform three sets of impact tests under different pressures on a lunar soil simulant geopolymer(LssG)with sodium silicate(Na_(2)siO_(3))contents of 1%,3%,5%and 7%.The dynamic stressestrain curves,failure modes,and energy variation rules of LssG under different pressures were *** equation was modified based on the ZWT viscoelastic constitutive model and was combined with the damage *** damage element obeys the Weibull distribution and the constitutive equation that can describe the mechanical properties of LssG under dynamic loading was *** results demonstrate that the dynamic compressive strength of LssG has a marked strain-rate strengthening ***_(2)siO_(3) has both strengthening and deterioration effects on the dynamic compressive strength of *** Na_(2)siO_(3) grows,the dynamic compressive strength of LssG first increases and then *** a fixed air pressure,5%Na_(2)siO_(3) had the largest dynamic compressive strength,the largest incident energy,the smallest absorbed energy,and the lightest *** ZWT equation was modified according to the stress response properties of LssG and the range of the sHPB strain rate to obtain the constitutive equation of the LssG,and the model’s correctness was confirmed.

Wearable multilead ECG sensing systems using on-skin stretchable and breathable dry adhesives

Electrocardiogram(ECG)monitoring is used to diagnose cardiovascular diseases,for which wearable electronics have attracted much attention due to their lightweight,comfort,and long-term *** study developed a wearablemultilead ECG sensing system with on-skin stretchable and conductive silver(Ag)-coated fiber/silicone(AgCF-s)dry *** and normal adhesion to pigskin(0.43 and 0.20 N/cm2,respectively)was optimized by the active control of fiber density and mixing ratio,resulting in close contact in the electrode–skin *** breathableAgCF-s dry electrodewas nonallergenic after continuous fit for 24 h and can be reused/cleaned(>100 times)without loss of *** AgCF encapsulated inside silicone elastomers was overlapped to construct a dynamic network under repeated stretching(10%strain)and bending(90°)deformations,enabling small intrinsic impedance(0.3,0.1 Hz)and contact impedance variation(0.7 k)in high-frequency vibration(70 Hz).All hard/soft modules of the multilead ECG system were integrated into lightweight clothing and equipped with wireless transmission for signal *** synchronous acquisition of I–III,aVR,aVL,aVF,and V4 lead data,the multilead ECG sensing system was suitable for various scenarios,such as exercise,rest,and sleep,with extremely high signal-to-noise ratios.

Enhanced properties of stone coal-based composite phase change materials for thermal energy storage

Phase change materials (PCMs) can be incorporated with low-cost minerals to synthesize composites for thermal energy storage in building *** coal (sC) after vanadium extraction treatment shows potential for secondary utilization in composite *** prepared sC-based composite PCMs with sC as a matrix,stearic acid (sA) as a PCM,and expanded graphite (EG) as an *** combined roasting and acid leaching treatment of raw sC was conducted to understand the effect of vanadium extraction on promoting loading *** showed that the combined treatment of roasting at 900℃ and leaching increased the sC loading of the composite by 6.2%by improving the specific surface *** loading capacity and thermal conductivity of the composite obviously increased by 127%and 48.19%,respectively,due to the contribution of 3wt% *** data were supported by the high load of 66.69%and thermal conductivity of 0.59 W·m^(-1)·K-1of the designed *** obtained composite exhibited a phase change temperature of 52.17℃,melting latent heat of 121.5 j·g^(-1),and good chemical *** sC-based composite has prospects in building applications exploiting the secondary utilization of minerals.

serum amylase as a novel prognostic marker of organophosphorus poisoning: a retrospective study

Background: This study aims to explore the significance of serum amylase levels in patients with organophosphorus pesticide (OP) poisoning and to provide a new perspective for evaluating the severity and prognosis of OP poisoning. Methods: The clinical data of 67 patients with acute OP poisoning, who had been treated in the emergency department of the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University between september 2020 and August 2022, were retrospectively analyzed. Using spearman rank correlation, serum amylase levels during admission and severity of poisoning correlated with discharge outcomes. Based on serum amylase levels, receiver operating characteristic curves were plotted to predict the severity and mortality of patients who experience organophosphate poisoning. The optimal threshold serum amylase level at admission was determined based on the maximum Youden index. Results: Using spearman rank correlation analysis, serum amylase levels at admission positively correlated with the severity of poisoning and discharge outcomes, but the degree of correlation was weak (rs: 0.344; 0.264; P s’ serum amylase levels at admission had receiver operating characteristic area under the curve values of 0.726 and 0.735 to predict the degree of severe poisoning and death, respectively. Based on the maximum Youden index, the optimal threshold of serum amylase were 97.8 and 194.1 U/L when the degree of poisoning was severe and the discharge outcome of patients was died. In comparison to patients with serum amylase levels ≤194.1 U/L at admission, the OR values of death in patients with serum amylase levels >194.1 U/L at admission was 15.944 (95% CI: 1.825–139.274). Conclusion: serum amylase levels in patients with organophosphate poisoning correlate with the degree of poisoning and discharge outcomes. Higher serum amylase level was a risk factor for organophosphorus poisoning death. © Wolters Kluwer Health, Inc. All rights reserved.

Nuclear isomers play essential roles in various fields,including stellar nucleosynthesis,nuclear clocks,nuclear batteries,clean nuclear energy,and-ray *** technological advances in high-intensity lasers have made it possible to excite or de-excite nuclear isomers using table-top laser *** a particle-in-cell code,we investigate the interaction of a laser with a nanowire array and calculate the production rates of the^(73m)Ge(E_(1)=13.3 keV)and^(107m)Ag(E_(1)=93.1 keV)***^(73m1)Ge,production by Coulomb excitation is found to contribute a peak efficiency of 1.0×10^(19) particles s^(−1)j^(−1),while nuclear excitation by electron capture(NEEC)contributes a peak of 1.65×10^(11)particles s^(−1)j^(−1).These results indicate a high isomeric production ratio,as well as demonstrating the potential for confirming the existence of NEEC,a long-expected but so far experimentally unobserved fundamental process.

Night warming increases wheat yield by improving pre-anthesis plant growth and post-anthesis grain starch biosynthesis

Global climate change is characterized by asymmetric warming,i.e.,greater temperature increases in winter,spring,and nighttime than in summer,autumn,and *** experiments were conducted using four wheat cultivars,namely‘Yangmai 18’(YM18),‘sumai 188’(sM188),‘Yannong 19’(YN19),and‘Annong 0711’(AN0711),in the two growing seasons of 2019-2020 and 2020-2021,with passive night warming during different periods in the early growth *** treatments were night warming during the tillering-jointing(NW_(T-j)),jointing-booting(NWj-B),and booting-anthesis(NWB-A)stages,with ambient temperature(NN)as the *** effects of night warming during different stages on wheat yield formation were investigated by determining the characteristics of dry matter accumulation and translocation,as well as sucrose and starch accumulation in wheat *** wheat yields of all four cultivars were significantly higher in NW_(T-j)than in NN in the 2-year *** yield increases of semi-winter cultivars YN19 and AN0711 were greater than those of spring cultivars YM18 and *** NW_(T-j)increased wheat yield mainly by increasing the 1,000-grain weight and the number of fertile spikelets,and it increased dry matter accumulation in various organs of wheat at the anthesis and maturity stages by increasing the growth rate at the vegetative growth *** flag leaf and spike showed the largest increases in dry matter ***_(T-j)also increased the grain sucrose and starch contents in the early and middle grain-filling stages,promoting yield ***,night warming between the tillering and jointing stages increased the pre-anthesis growth rate,and thus,wheat dry matter production,which contributed to an increase in wheat yield.

Enhanced Flexoelectric Response from Functionally Gradient Electrets Undergoing Crumpling Deformation

Non-uniform deformation of the dielectric subjected to external forces can induce the flexoelectric effect, a phenomenon that couples electrical polarization to strain gradients. However, limited by the size effects, flexoelectricity is not significant at the macroscale and only becomes catchable at the microscale and nanoscale. In recent work, we obtained a considerable flexoelectric-like response by crumpling the dielectric embedded with charges, i.e., the electret, which significantly improved the flexoelectric effect at the macroscale. In this work, we further optimize the macroscopic performance of the flexoelectric response by applying gradient treatment to the electret films. specifically, we analytically derive the electromechanical coupling of crumpled electret films with gradients of different thicknesses, charge densities, and Young’s moduli as key design variables. It is shown that the gradient-oriented electret film can be tuned to nearly five times that of a uniform electret film.
