studies on the effects of pre-firing and sintering temperature on NsDC nanocomposite electrolytes

solid oxide fuel cells（sOFCs） technology, with fuel flexibility, is one of the most promising power generation technology. However, the high operating temperature of sOFCs has hindered their commercial applications. As a crucial requirement to enhance its performance, sOFCs electrolytes should operate at a low temperature. Carbonate/ceria composites are developed as electrolytes for low operating temperature sOFCs, and a better understanding of the mechanism of its ionic conductivity serves this purpose. In this work, ceria-carbonate composite electrolyte, Na;CO;/samarium doped ceria（NsDC） were synthesized by the co-precipitation *** synthesized electrolytes were characterized by X-ray diffraction（XRD）, scanning electron microscopy（sEM）,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPs）, and UV–Vis spectroscopy. The XRD and sEM results showed that the sintered NsDC nanocomposite comprised a single-phase dense electrolyte structure. The crystallite size of the NsDC nanocomposite was greatly affected by the different pre-firing temperatures and different sintering temperatures. Also, the ionic conductivity of the prepared NsDC nanocomposite electrolytes was strongly dependent on the pre-firing and sintering temperatures. The NsDC nanocomposite electrolytes were pre-fired at 950°C and650°C and sintered at 1200°C and 900°C respectively, had ionic conductivity in H;and air high as 0.36 s/cm and 0.3 s/cm.

It has been well established that carbon dioxide(CO_(2))is one of the main greenhouse gasses and a leading driver of climate *** chemical conversion of CO_(2) to substitute natural gas(sNG)in the presence of renewable hydrogen is one of the most promising solutions by a well-known process called CO_(2) *** have been comprehensive efforts in developing effective and efficient CO_(2) methanation catalytic ***,the choice of competitive and stable catalysts is still a monumental obstruction and a great challenge towards the commercialization and industrialization of CO_(2) *** is necessary to emphasize the critical understandings of intrinsic and extrinsic interactions of catalyst components(active metal,support,promoter,etc.)for enhanced catalytic performance and stability during CO_(2) *** study reviews the up-to-date developments on CO_(2) methanation catalysts and the optimal synergistic relationship between active metals,support,and promoters during the catalytic *** existing catalysts and their novel properties for enhanced CO_(2) methanation were elucidated using the state-of-the-art experimental and theoretical *** selection of an appropriate synthesis method,catalytic activity for CO_(2) methanation,deactivation of the catalysts,and reaction mechanisms studies,have been explicitly compared and ***,future efforts should be directed towards the sustainable developments of catalytic configurations for successful industrial applications of CO_(2) utilization to sNG using CO_(2) methanation.

Heat transfer in a porous saturated wavy channel with asymmetric convective boundary conditions

The viscous flow in a wavy channel with convective boundary conditions is investigated. The channel is filled with a porous viscous fluid. Two cases of equal and different external convection coefficients on the walls are taken into account. Effect of viscous dissipation is also considered. The governing equations are derived employing long wavelength and low Reynolds number approximations. Exact closed form solutions are obtained for the simplified equations. Important physical features for peristaltic flow caused by the wavy wave are pumping, trapping and heat transfer rate at the channel walls. These are discussed one by one in depth and detail through graphical illustrations. special attention has been given to the effects of convective boundary conditions. The results show that for Bi1≠Bi2, there exists a critical value of Brinkman number Brc at which the temperatures of both the walls become equal. And, for Bi1>Bi2 and Br>Brc, the temperature of the cold wall exceeds the temperature of hot wall.

Flow of Oldroyd-B fluid with nanoparticles and thermal radiation

The two-dimensional boundary layer flow of an Oldroyd-B fluid in the presence of nanoparticles is investigated. Convective heat and mass conditions are considered in the presence of thermal radiation and heat generation. The Brownian motion and thermophoresis effects are retained. The nonlinear partial differential equations are reduced into the ordinary differential equation （ODE） systems. The resulting ODE systems are solved for the series solutions. The results are analyzed for various physical parameters of interest. Numerical values of the local Nusselt and sherwood numbers are also computed and analyzed.

synthesis of Nanostructured Mg-Ni Alloy and Its Hydrogen storage Properties

Nanostructured Mg–Ni alloy with the particle size in the range of 40–50 nm was synthesized by the thermal decomposition of bipyridyl complexes of Mg and Ni metals at 773 K for 24 h under dry argon gas ambient. The as-prepared nano-alloy was characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （sEM） and transmission electron microscopy （TEM） for compositional and structural analysis. The alloy exhibited superior hydrogen absorption and desorption behavior with 3.2 wt% absorption within 1 min at 573 K and about 3 wt% desorption within 5–10 min at 573 K. This favorable behavior of Mg–Ni compound for the hydrogen storage is due to the specific nanostructure of the material. The low activation energy values and favorable thermodynamics indicate that the prepared Mg–Ni alloy is an attracting material for hydrogen storage applications.

Mechanical behavior of Cu-Zr bulk metallic glasses (BMGs): A molecular dynamics approach

In the present work, three-dimensional molecular dynamics simulation is carried out to elucidate the nanoinden- tation behaviors of CuZr Bulk metallic glasses （BMGs）. The substrate indenter system is modeled using hybrid interatomic potentials including both many-body Finnis sinclair （Fs） and two-body Morse potentials. A spherical rigid indenter （diameter= 60 A（1 A = 10 ^-10 m）） is employed to simulate the indentation process. Three samples of BMGs including Cu25Zr75, CusoZr50, and Cu75Zr25 are designed and the metallic glasses are formed by rapid cooling from the melt state at about 2000 K. The radial distribution functions are analyzed to reveal the dynamical evolution of the structure of the atoms with different compositions and different cooling rates. The mechanical behavior can be well understood in terms of load-depth curves and Hardness-depth curves during the nanoindentation process. Our results indicate a positive linear relationship between the hardness and the Cu concentration of the BMG sample. To reveal the importance of cooling rate provided during the processing of BMGs, we investigate the indentation behaviors of CusoZr50 at three different quenching rates. Nanoindentation results and radial distribution function （RDF） curves at room temperature indicate that a sample can be made harder and more stable by slowing down the quenching rate.

Heat transfer analysis in peristaltic flow of MHD Jeffrey fluid with variable thermal conductivity

The effect of an inclined magnetic field in the peristaltic flow of a Jeffrey fluid with variable thermal conductivity is discussed. The temperature dependent thermal conductivity of fluid in an asymmetric channel is taken into account. A dimensionless nonlinear system subject to a long wavelength and a low Reynolds number is solved. The explicit expressions of the stream function, the axial velocity, the pressure gradient, and the temperature are obtained. The effects of all physical parameters on peristaltic transport and heat transfer characteristics are observed from graphical illustrations. The behaviors of θ∈ [0, π/2] and θ∈ [π/2, π] on fluid flow and heat transfer are found to be opposite. Further, the size of trapped bolus is greater for the case of the inclined magnetic field （θ≠ π/2） than that for the case of the transverse magnetic field （θ = π/2）. The heat transfer coefficient decreases when the constant thermal conductivity （Newtonian） fluid is changed to the variable thermal conductivity （Jeffrey） fluid.

Power systems can suffer outages,causing complete or partial disconnection of their power supply to load centers within the distribution *** Generation(DG)plays an essential role in power *** can be used as a back-up power source to enhance the resiliency and reliability of a power *** mode operations after outages in an active distributing network(ADN)is an effective way to maintain continuity of the power supply to significant *** is a quite complicated task for power system operators to find the power flow *** studies have primarily used pre-defined guidelines to find feasible power flow paths,and have focused on multiple islands for *** these studies,possible restoration pathfinding with DG was the fundamental weakness,and furthermore,the power of DG was limited to pre-defined boundaries in the form of ***,in this study,a new algorithm has been proposed,which uses the minimum spanning tree(MsT)method to find the most feasible *** proposed algorithm starts at any random node(in this case,DG),and progresses by selecting the next node with the least cost(weight),thus considering all the nodes through which power will *** proposed model is formulated as a multiobjective program considering the priority of loads and minimum power *** effectiveness of the proposed model is tested on a modified IEEE69-bus distribution system with the penetration of multiple distributed generation sources at different *** were compared with the strategies found in literature,and the proposed method was found to be feasible and efficient.

In this study,a mathematical model is formulated to examine the blood flow through a cylindrical stenosed blood *** stenosis disease is caused because of the abnormal narrowing of flow in the *** narrowing causes serious health issues like heart attack and may decrease blood flow in the blood *** modeling helps us analyze such issues.A mathematical model is considered in this study to explore the blood flow in a stenosis artery and is solved numerically with the finite difference *** artery is an elastic cylindrical tube containing blood defined as a viscoelastic fluid.A complete parametric analysis has been done for the flow velocity to clarify the applicability of the defined ***,the flow characteristics such as the impedance,the wall shear stress in the stenotic region,the shear stresses in the throat of the stenosis and at the critical stenosis height are *** obtained results show that the intensity of the stenosis occurs mostly at the highest narrowing areas compared with all other areas of the vessel,which has a direct impact on the wall shear *** is also observed that the resistive impedance and wall shear pressure get the maximum values at the critical height of the stenosis.

Performance comparison of IEC 61850-90-5 and IEEE C37.118.2based wide area PMU communication networks

Dynamic operation and control of power system is being increasingly done with the help of phasor measurement unit(PMU) based wide area monitoring and control system. The data communication requirements for the PMU based applications are well addressed by IEEE C37.118.2 standard. However, IEC 61850 is now becoming a leading standard for power utility automation needs. A new part of IEC 61850, IEC 61850-90-5, specifying the IEEE C37.118.1 based synchrophasors data transfer according to IEC 61850, will lead to IEC 61850-90-5 based PMU communication networks. A novel IEC 61850-90-5 compliant communication model of PMU is proposed in this paper. We also present a comparative performance analysis of the PMU communication networks supporting the new synchrophasor standard for data transfer, i.e. IEC61850-90-5, and the existing standard, i.e. IEEE C37.118.2, for end to end(ETE) delay requirements for a modified IEEE 30 bus test system.
