Multi-step Clustering of smart Meters time series:Application to Demand Flexibility Characterization of sME Customers

Customer segmentation according to load-shape profiles using smart meter data is an increasingly important application to vital the planning and operation of energy systems and to enable citizens’participation in the energy *** study proposes an innovative multi-step clustering procedure to segment customers based on load-shape patterns at the daily and intra-daily time *** meter data is split between daily and hourly normalized time series to assess monthly,weekly,daily,and hourly seasonality patterns *** dimensionality reduction implicit in the splitting allows a direct approach to clustering raw daily energy time series *** intraday clustering procedure sequentially identifies representative hourly day-unit profiles for each customer and the entire *** the first time,a step function approach is applied to reduce time series *** attributes embedded in surveys are employed to build external clustering validation metrics using Cramer’s v correlation factors and to identify statistically significant determinants of load-shape in energy *** addition,a time series features engineering approach is used to extract 16 relevant demand flexibility indicators that characterize customers and corresponding clusters along four different axes:available Energy(E),temporal patterns(t),Consistency(C),and variability(v).the methodology is implemented on a real-world electricity consumption dataset of 325 small and Medium-sized Enterprise(sME)customers,identifying 4 daily and 6 hourly easy-to-interpret,well-defined *** application of the methodology includes selecting key parameters via grid search and a thorough comparison of clustering distances and methods to ensure the robustness of the *** research can test the scalability of the methodology to larger datasets from various customer segments(households and large commercial)and locations with different weather and socioeconomic conditio

this paper reports a new simple four-dimensional（4 D） hyperjerk chaotic system. the proposed system has only one stable equilibrium point. Hence, its strange attractor belongs to the category of hidden attractors. the proposed system exhibits various dynamical behaviors including chaotic, periodic, stable nature, and coexistence of various attractors. Numerous theoretical and numerical methods are used for the analyses of this system. the chaotic behavior of the new system is validated using circuit implementation. Further, the synchronization of the proposed systems is shown by designing an adaptive integrator backstepping controller. Numerical simulation validates the synchronization strategy.

synthesis and photoluminescence studies of ba(Gd,Ln)B_9O_(16):Eu^(3+)(Ln=La,Y) phosphors for n-Uv LED lighting and display devices

baGdB9O16：Eu^3＋ and ba（Gd,Ln）B9O16：Eu^3＋（Ln=La, Y） phosphors were synthesized by solid state diffusion method. the X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy（sEM） and photoluminescence properties were investigated. the as-synthesized baGdB9O16：Eu^3＋ and ba（Gd,Ln）B9O16：Eu^3＋（Ln=La, Y） phosphors showed strong red emission under ultraviolet light excitation. By partially substituting Gd^3＋ by La^3＋ and Y^3＋ ions in the host baGdB9O16：Eu^3＋ materials, the maximum emission intensity was observed for the optimum composition of baGd0.91La0.8B9O16Eu0.01 phosphor. the experimental results indicated that the Eu doped baGdB9O16 and ba（Gd,Ln）B9O16（Ln=La, Y） phosphors were promising red phosphors, which might find potential applications in near-Uv excited LED lighting as well as display devices. Comparison of as-synthesized phosphors with standard phosphor used in CFL（compact fluorescent lamp） was also done. Energy transfer mechanism of Gd^3＋ to Eu^3＋ was also discussed in this paper.

Microstructural image based convolutional neural networks for efficient prediction of full-field stress maps in short fiber polymer composites

the increased demand for superior materials has highlighted the need of investigating the mechanical properties of composites to achieve enhanced constitutive ***-reinforced polymer composites have emerged as an integral part of materials development with tailored mechanical ***,the complexity and heterogeneity of such composites make it considerably more challenging to have precise quantification of properties and attain an optimal design of structures through experimental and computational *** order to avoid the complex,cumbersome,and labor-intensive experimental and numerical modeling approaches,a machine learning(ML)model is proposed here such that it takes the microstructural image as input with a different range of Young’s modulus of carbon fibers and neat epoxy,and obtains output as visualization of the stress component s11(principal stress in the x-direction).For obtaining the training data of the ML model,a short carbon fiberfilled specimen under quasi-static tension is modeled based on 2D Representative Area Element(RAE)using finite element *** composite is inclusive of short carbon fibers with an aspect ratio of 7.5that are infilled in the epoxy systems at various random orientations and positions generated using the simple sequential Inhibition(ssI)*** study reveals that the pix2pix deep learning Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)model is robust enough to predict the stress fields in the composite for a given arrangement of short fibers filled in epoxy over the specified range of Young’s modulus with high *** CNN model achieves a correlation score of about 0.999 and L2 norm of less than 0.005 for a majority of the samples in the design spectrum,indicating excellent prediction *** this paper,we have focused on the stage-wise chronological development of the CNN model with optimized performance for predicting the full-field stress maps of the fiber-reinforced composite ***

Effect of chlorine doping on the structural, morphological, optical and electrical properties of spray deposited Cds thin films

Cds and chlorine doped Cds(Cds:Cl) thin films with different Cl-doping levels(0,2,4,6 and 8 at%) have been deposited on glass substrates by a spray pyrolysis technique using a perfume *** effect of Cl doping on the structural,morphological,optical and electrical properties of the films was *** patterns revealed that all the films exhibit hexagonal crystal structure with a preferential orientation along the(0 0 2) plane irrespective of the Cl doping *** particle size value decreases from 22.03 nm to 18.12 nm with increase in Cl *** band gap is blue-shifted from 2.48 ev to 2.73 ev with increase in Cl doping *** the films have resistivity in the order of 10～4 Ω *** obtained results confirm that chlorine as an anionic dopant material can enhance the physical properties of Cds thin films to a large extent.

Gamma-ray and neutron shielding efficiency of Pb-free gadolinium-based glasses

the radiation shielding efficiency of material depends upon photon attenuation, exposure buildup factors and neutron removal capacity. A newly developed Pb-free gadolinium-based glasses in compositions(80-x) B_2O_3-10 si O_2-10 Ca O-x Gd_2O_3(where x = 15, 20, 25, 30 and35 mol%) had completely been investigated for their shielding efficiency with Geant4 simulation for mass attenuation coefficients and neutron total macroscopic cross section and by calculating exposure buildup *** exposure buildup factors for photon energy from 0.015 to 15 Me v had been calculated up to 40 mean free paths using five factors geometric progression method. the mass attenuation coefficients of the Pb-free glasses were simulated for energies from 223 to 2614 ke v and compared with the possible available experimental results. the neutron shielding efficiency of these glasses was discussed by calculating neutron total macroscopic cross section for energies from 1 e v to 14.1 Me v. Present investigations are found to be very useful for applications in nuclear engineering.

Performance of inclined pillars with a major discontinuity

Discontinuities are an inherent part of the rock mass and majorly affect the stability of the excavation skin and *** dip of the discontinuities and their properties also have a significant effect on the strength of the *** approaches are commonly used to determine the pillar strength but can overestimate the strength and don’t consider the inclination of the pillars and the strength reduction caused by *** modeling is a powerful tool and if calibrated can be used to evaluate the strength of the pillars with discontinuities having a range of *** effect of a discontinuity on inclined pillars was conducted which has been seldom considered in evaluating the pillar ***-dimensional vertical pillars were simulated,and the pillar strength was calibrated to accepted theoretical results and then the discontinuities were introduced in different pillar inclinations with distinct width to height ratios to gain an insight into the effective pillar strength *** upon the results,it was found that the discontinuities have a significant effect with the increase in the inclination of the pillars even at a higher width to height ratios.

the simultaneous influence of thermal and mechanical treatment was applied to produce a geometrically complex shaft from 51Crv4 steel leading to the formation of mierostruetures which were significantly different from each other. these mierostrue- rural differences were accompanied by a local change of mechanical properties in terms of hardness, electrical resistivity and especially internal friction. the snoek-Ksster peak was recognized and analyzed in the structure of this steel.

By providing a means of separating the airborne emissions of patients from the air breathed by healthcare workers(HCWs),vented individual patient(vIP)hoods,a form of local exhaust ventilation(LEv),offer a new approach to reduce hospital-acquired infection(HAI).Results from recent studies have demonstrated that,for typical patient-emitted aerosols,vIP hoods provide protection at least equivalent to that of an N95 *** a mask,hood performance can be easily monitored and HCWs can be alerted to failure by *** appropriate use of these relatively simple devices could both reduce the reliance on personal protective equipment(PPE)for infection control and provide a low-cost and energy-efficient form of protection for hospitals and *** the development and deployment of vIP hoods has been accelerated by the coronavirus disease 2019(COvID-19)pandemic,these devices are currently an immature *** this review,we describe the state of the art of vIP hoods and identify aspects in need of further development,both in terms of device design and the protocols associated with their *** broader concept of individual patient hoods has the potential to be expanded beyond ventilation to the provision of clean conditions for individual patients and personalized control over other environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

the oxides srMo_(1-x)Fe_(x)O_(3-δ)(x=0.1 and 0.2)have recently been described as excellent anode materials for solid-oxide fuel cells at intermediate temperatures(It-sOFC)with LsGM as the *** this work we have partially replaced sr by ba in a compound of formula sr_(0.9)ba_(0.1)Mo_(0.9)Fe_(0.1)O_(3-δ),in order to expand the unit-cell size and thereby improve the ionic diffusion of O^(2-)ions through the crystal *** anode materials must be stable under reducing conditions,since they work in the presence of the fuel(H_(2))at elevated *** anodes are inspired in the srMoO_(3)perovskite,which contains Mo4+ions,stable in very reducing *** novel oxide has been structurally characterized from x-ray(XRD)and neutron powder diffraction(NPD)data;the structure is defined at room temperature in the Pm-3m space group,and shows oxygen vacancies,necessary for the performance of this material as mixed ionic-electronic(MIEC)*** single test cells supported on LsGM,the materials generated output powers close to 500 mW/cm^(2)at 850℃using pure H_(2)as *** thermal expansion is linear,with tEC=10.93×10^(-6)K^(-1).the chemical compatibility with the LsGM electrolyte was also verified.
