Replaceable flexural and shear fuse-type coupling beams are used in hybrid coupled shear wall(HCsW)systems,enabling concrete buildings to be promptly recovered after severe *** study aimed to analytically evaluate the seismic behavior of flexural and shear fuse beams situated in short-,medium-and high-rise RC buildings that have *** building groups hypothetically located in a high seismic hazard zone were studied.A series of 2D nonlinear time history analyses was accomplished in Opensees,using the ground motion records scaled at the design basis earthquake *** was found that the effectiveness of fuses in HCsWs depends on various factors such as size and scale of the building,allowable rotation value,inter-story drift ratio,residual drift quantity,energy dissipation value of the fuses,*** results show that shear fuses better meet the requirements of rotations and *** contrast,flexural fuses dissipate more energy,but their sectional stiffness should increase to meet other *** was concluded that adoption of proper fuses depends on the overall scale of the building and on how associated factors are considered.

Floods and earthquakes are the most common natural disasters, causing significant damage and casualties in urban communities. Although academic research has focused on assessing cities' ability to withstand these natural disasters, there is a lack of established frameworks for evaluating resilience against multiple hazards. This research integrates the earthquake and flood resilience indicators to create a comprehensive resilience assessment framework. This study integrated seismic and flood resilience indicators and categorized them into 27 clusters. It also used the DEMATEL (Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory) method to determine the significance of clusters and prioritize them. This research identified 13 cause clusters and 14 effect clusters of indicators for seismic and flood resilience. The 'response capacity' cluster has the most impact on seismic and flood resilience, while the 'transportation and accessibility' cluster is the most affected cluster. This article presents a framework for evaluating flood and seismic resilience and makes suggestions for future research.

BACKGROUND Type 2 diabetes is one of the most prevalent chronic diseases worldwide,significantly impacting patients'quality of *** treatment options like metformin(MET)effectively counteract hyperglycemia but fail to alleviate diabetes-associated complications such as retinopathy,neuropathy,nephropathy,hepatopathy,and cardiovascular *** To propose the supplementation of cholecalciferol(CHO)and taurine(TAU)to enhance MET efficacy in controlling diabetes while minimizing the risk of associated *** The study involved sixty rats,including ten non-diabetic control rats and fifty experimental rats with type 2 diabetes induced by *** experimental rats were further subdivided into positive control and treatment *** four treatment groups were randomly allocated to a single MET treatment or MET combined with supplements either CHO,TAU,or *** Diabetic rats exhibited elevated levels of glucose,insulin,Homeostasis Model Assessment of Insulin Resistance(HOMA-IR),glycated hemoglobin percentage,lipid markers,aspartate aminotransferase,and malondialdehyde,along with reduced levels of antioxidant enzymes(catalase and superoxide dismutase).The administration of CHO and TAU supplements alongside MET in diabetic rats led to a noticeable recovery of islet *** antioxidative,anti-inflammatory,and anti-apoptotic properties of the proposed combination therapy significantly ameliorated the aforementioned *** The supplementation of CHO and TAU with MET showed the potential to significantly improve metabolic parameters and protect against diabetic complications through its antioxidative,anti-inflammatory,and antiapoptotic effects.

Hyperspectral(Hs)image classification plays a crucial role in numerous areas including remote sensing(Rs),agriculture,and the monitoring of the *** band selection in Hs images is crucial for improving the efficiency and accuracy of image *** process involves selecting the most informative spectral bands,which leads to a reduction in data *** on these key bands also enhances the accuracy of classification algorithms,as redundant or irrelevant bands,which can introduce noise and lower model performance,are *** this paper,we propose an approach for Hs image classification using deep Q learning(DQL)and a novel multi-objective binary grey wolf optimizer(MOBGWO).We investigate the MOBGWO for optimal band selection to further enhance the accuracy of Hs image *** the suggested MOBGWO,a new sigmoid function is introduced as a transfer function to modify the wolves’*** primary objective of this classification is to reduce the number of bands while maximizing classification *** evaluate the effectiveness of our approach,we conducted experiments on publicly available Hs image datasets,including Pavia University,Washington Mall,and Indian Pines *** compared the performance of our proposed method with several state-of-the-art deep learning(DL)and machine learning(ML)algorithms,including long short-term memory(LsTM),deep neural network(DNN),recurrent neural network(RNN),support vector machine(sVM),and random forest(RF).Our experimental results demonstrate that the Hybrid MOBGWO-DQL significantly improves classification accuracy compared to traditional optimization and DL ***-DQL shows greater accuracy in classifying most categories in both datasets *** the Indian Pine dataset,the MOBGWO-DQL architecture achieved a kappa coefficient(KC)of 97.68%and an overall accuracy(OA)of 94.32%.This was accompanied by the lowest root mean square error(RMsE)of 0.94,indicating very precise

In our study of super quantum discord between two excitonic qubits inside a coupled semiconductor quantum dots system, our primary focus is to uncover the impact of weak measurement on its quantum characteristics. To achieve this, we analyze how varying the measurement strength x, affects this super quantum correlation in the presence of thermal ***, we assess the effect of this variation on the system's evolution against its associated quantum parameters; external electric fields, exciton–exciton dipole interaction energy and F?rster interaction. Our findings indicate that adjusting x to smaller values effectively enhances the super quantum correlation, making weak measurements act as a catalyst. This adjustment ensures its robustness against thermal effects while preserving the non-classical attributes of the ***, our study unveils that the effect of weak measurements on this latter surpasses the quantum effects associated with the system. Indeed, manipulating the parameter x allows the weak measurement to function as a versatile tool for modulating quantum characteristics and controlling exciton–exciton interactions within the coupled semiconductor quantum dots system.

BACKGROUND Tranexamic acid(TXA),a synthetic antifibrinolytic drug,effectively reduces blood loss by inhibiting plasmin-induced fibrin *** is the first study in the United Kingdom to investigate the effectiveness of TXA in the surgical management of isolated spine *** To assess the safety of TXA in isolated spine *** primary and secondary outcomes are to assess the rate of thromboembolic events and to evaluate blood loss and the incidence of blood transfusion,*** This prospective observational study included patients aged≥17 years with isolated spine trauma requiring surgical intervention over a 6-month period at two major trauma centers in the United *** We identified 67 patients:26(39%)and 41(61%)received and did not receive TXA,*** groups were matched in terms of age,gender,American society of Anesthesiologists grade,and mechanism of injury.A higher proportion of patients who received TXA had a subaxial cervical spine injury classification or thoracolumbar injury classification score>4(74%vs 56%).All patients in the TXA group underwent an open approach with a mean of 5 spinal levels involved and an average operative time of 203 min,compared with 24 patients(58%)in the non TXA group who underwent an open approach with an average of 3 spinal levels involved and a mean operative time of 159 *** patients who received TXA,blood loss wass,*** were no cases of thromboembolic events in any patient who received *** Our study demonstrated that TXA is safe for isolated spine *** is challenging to determine whether TXA effectively reduces blood loss because most surgeons prefer TXA for open or multilevel ***,larger studies are necessary to explore the rate,dosage,and mode of administration of TXA.

干旱是广泛影响经济和环境的主要自然灾害之一。因此,有必要采用诸如标准化降雨指数(sPI)等指标来研究干旱的影响,以辨析决策和规划的现实条件。本研究的目的是利用sPI指数分析伊朗南部法尔斯省的干旱空间格局。本文根据法尔斯省42个站点的数据,对1990-2019年间的干旱灾害格局进行了评价。评价模型中使用的干旱危害标准包括:该时期的最严重干旱程度、干旱趋势和连续干旱年的最大数量,最终的干旱灾害图是通过计算干旱强度、连续性和趋势三个指标的算术平均值获得的。三个指标的灾害图和最终灾害脆弱图采用反距离加权法(IDW)插值制图,分为无、轻度、中度、重度和极重度5个危害等级。最终的干旱脆弱性图显示,在研究区南部观察到的中度灾害区域占研究区36%,比在北部和中部观察到的严重和非常严重灾害区(占研究区64%)分布范围更小。
