Replaceable flexural and shear fuse-type coupling beams are used in hybrid coupled shear wall(HCsW)systems,enabling concrete buildings to be promptly recovered after severe *** study aimed to analytically evaluate the seismic behavior of flexural and shear fuse beams situated in short-,medium-and high-rise RC buildings that have *** building groups hypothetically located in a high seismic hazard zone were studied.A series of 2D nonlinear time history analyses was accomplished in Opensees,using the ground motion records scaled at the design basis earthquake *** was found that the effectiveness of fuses in HCsWs depends on various factors such as size and scale of the building,allowable rotation value,inter-story drift ratio,residual drift quantity,energy dissipation value of the fuses,*** results show that shear fuses better meet the requirements of rotations and *** contrast,flexural fuses dissipate more energy,but their sectional stiffness should increase to meet other *** was concluded that adoption of proper fuses depends on the overall scale of the building and on how associated factors are considered.

Next-generation Li-ion batteries are expected to exhibit superior energy and power density, along with extended cycle life. Ni-rich high-capacity layered nickel manganese cobalt oxide electrode materials (NMC) hold promise in achieving these objectives, despite facing challenges such as capacity fade due to various degradation modes. Crack formation within NMC-based cathode secondary particles, leading to parasitic reactions and the formation of inactive crystal structures, is a critical degradation mechanism. Mechanical and chemical degradation further deteriorate capacity and lifetime. To mitigate these issues, an artificial cathode electrolyte interphase can be applied to the active material before battery cycling. While atomic layer deposition (ALD) has been extensively explored for active material coatings, molecular layer deposition (MLD) offers a complementary approach. When combined with ALD, MLD enables the deposition of flexible hybrid coatings that can accommodate electrode material volume changes during battery operation. This study focuses on depositing TiO2$$ {\mathrm{TiO}}_2 $$-titanium terephthalate thin films on a LiNi0.8Mn0.1Co0.1O2$$ {\mathrm{LiNi}}_{0.8}{\mathrm{Mn}}_{0.1}{\mathrm{Co}}_{0.1}{\mathrm{O}}_2 $$ electrode via ALD-MLD. The electrochemical evaluation demonstrates favorable lithium-ion kinetics and reduced electrolyte decomposition. Overall, the films deposited through ALD-MLD exhibit promising features as flexible and protective coatings for high-energy lithium-ion battery electrodes, offering potential contributions to the enhancement of advanced battery technologies and supporting the growth of the EV and stationary battery industries. BACKGROUND Tranexamic acid(TXA),a synthetic antifibrinolytic drug,effectively reduces blood loss by inhibiting plasmin-induced fibrin *** is the first study in the United Kingdom to investigate the effectiveness of TXA in the surgical management of isolated spine *** To assess the safety of TXA in isolated spine *** primary and secondary outcomes are to assess the rate of thromboembolic events and to evaluate blood loss and the incidence of blood transfusion,*** This prospective observational study included patients aged≥17 years with isolated spine trauma requiring surgical intervention over a 6-month period at two major trauma centers in the United *** We identified 67 patients:26(39%)and 41(61%)received and did not receive TXA,*** groups were matched in terms of age,gender,American society of Anesthesiologists grade,and mechanism of injury.A higher proportion of patients who received TXA had a subaxial cervical spine injury classification or thoracolumbar injury classification score>4(74%vs 56%).All patients in the TXA group underwent an open approach with a mean of 5 spinal levels involved and an average operative time of 203 min,compared with 24 patients(58%)in the non TXA group who underwent an open approach with an average of 3 spinal levels involved and a mean operative time of 159 *** patients who received TXA,blood loss wass,*** were no cases of thromboembolic events in any patient who received *** Our study demonstrated that TXA is safe for isolated spine *** is challenging to determine whether TXA effectively reduces blood loss because most surgeons prefer TXA for open or multilevel ***,larger studies are necessary to explore the rate,dosage,and mode of administration of TXA.
