optimizing artificial intelligence in sepsis management: opportunities in the present and looking closely to the future

sepsis remains a major challenge internationally for healthcare systems.Its incidence is rising due to poor public awareness and delays in its recognition and subsequent management.In sepsis,mortality increases with every hour left untreated.Artificial intelligence(AI)is transforming worldwide healthcare delivery at present.This review has outlined how AI can augment strategies to address this global disease burden.AI and machine learning(ML)algorithms can analyze vast quantities of increasingly complex clinical datasets from electronic medical records to assist clinicians in diagnosing and treating sepsis earlier than traditional methods.our review highlights how these models can predict the risk of sepsis and organ failure even before it occurs.This gives providers additional time to plan and execute treatment plans,thereby avoiding increasing complications associated with delayed diagnosis of sepsis.The potential for cost savings with AI implementation is also discussed,including improving workflow efficiencies,reducing administrative costs,and improving healthcare outcomes.Despite these advantages,clinicians have been slow to adopt AI into clinical practice.some of the limitations posed by AI solutions include the lack of diverse data sets for model building so that they are widely applicable for routine clinical use.Furthermore,the subsequent algorithms are often based on complex mathematics leading to clinician hesitancy to embrace such technologies.Finally,we highlight the need for robust political and regulatory frameworks in this area to achieve the trust and approval of clinicians and patients to implement this transformational technology。

Trace-element of Tuoyun cli-nopyroxene:Implication for the deep processes of litho-spheric mantle beneath the southwest Tianshan,West China

Based on the LAM-ICPMs analytic results on the trace elements of clinopyroxenes in peridotitic xenoliths occurring in early-Cretaceous basalts from western Xinjiang, the properties and the deep processes, including partial melting and mantle metasomatism, of the subcontinental lithospheric mantle beneath the Tuoyun Basin are analyzed. In the northern edge of the Tarim Basin (southwest Tian-shan), the Mesozoic subcontinental lithosphere which has experienced the effect of partial melting (somatism is characterized by Phanerozoic ’ocean-type’ mantle. The superposed influence of sio2-un-saturated silicate melt and carbonate melt probably results in the metasomatic medium which resembles the hydrous silicated carbonate melt in some aspects. By comparing Tuoyun mantle with Cenozoic main mantle beneath eastern China, the properties are similar, while the former shows finer grain and higher diopside content of the peridotites and more conspicuous modal metasomatism.

single zircon LAM-ICPMs U-Pb dating indi-cates that the Guidong granitic complex is a multistage ba-tholith formed during Indosinian-yanshanian time. The Luxi body (239 ± 5 Ma) and the Xiazhuang body (235.8 ± 7.6 Ma) intruded during Indosinian time, whereas the Aizi body (160.1 ± 6.1 Ma) and the siqian body (151 ± 11 Ma) formed during yanshanian time. Inherited zircons (1275—2137 Ma) in the Xiazhuang body imply that at least part of the source rocks of the Guidong complex are from the Proterozoic basement of southeast China. Detailed single zirconLAM-ICPMs U-Pb dating results provide important evi-dence for understanding the evolution, tectonic setting andmineralisation of the complex.

Knowledge of the trace element distributions and concentrations in main mineral phases of mantle-derived rocks is particularly useful for understanding the partial melting, depletion and enrichment processes, and metasomatism in the earth’s mantle. Determination of Calcium in olivine by Proton Microprobe and Its Implication

Ca is a minor component of olivine (oliv). Its concentration measured by electron microprobe (EMP) is about 0.1—0.5%, which is close to the minimum detection limit. U-Pb dating of zircons from quartz diorite and its enclaves at Tongguanshan in Anhui and its petrogenetic implication

The genesis of intermediate-silicic intrusive rocks and their enclaves in Tongling are closely related to Fe, Cu mineralization, which may provide petrologic informa- tion on lithospheric dynamics in this region. Tongguanshan quartz diorite and its enclaves, representatives of the Meso- zoic intermediate-silicic intrusive rocks in the Tongling area, were studied using approaches of petrography, electron microprobe mineral chemistry and the LA-ICPMs zircon U-Pb dating. The chemical compositions of pyroxene and amphibole in pyroxene-amphibole cumulate, quartz-diorite host rock from Tongguanshan show correlative variations. The Al contents of the minerals in pyroxene-amphibole cu- mulate are higher than those in the host rocks, indicating that the cumulate crystals were crystallized before the em- placement of host magma. The consistent mineral chemical compositions between the Tongguanshan quartz diorite and the microgranular diorite enclave indicate that the enclave and host rock were crystallized under similar conditions and therefore are closely genetically related. The LA-ICPMs zircon U-Pb dating suggests that the crystallization age of Tongguanshan quartz diorite is 137.5±1.1 Ma, consistent with the previous dates by different methods. However, the present U-Pb dating also revealed the presence of late- Archean relict cores, demonstrating that older lower crustal materials were involved in the generation of Mesozoic mag- matic rocks in this area. Furthermore, the dating results show that the crystallization age of the microgranular diorite enclave is 137.5 ±2.4 Ma, the same as the crystallization age of the host magma. By integrating the previous sr-Nd-Pb isotope data, it is also discussed the petrogenesis of quartz diorite and its enclaves in Tongguanshan.

Ren-integrable and ren-symmetric integrable systems

A new type of symmetry,ren-symmetry,describing anyon physics and corresponding topological physics,is proposed.Ren-symmetry is a generalization of super-symmetry which is widely applied in super-symmetric physics such as super-symmetric quantum mechanics,super-symmetric gravity,super-symmetric string theory,super-symmetric integrable systems and so on.supersymmetry and Grassmann numbers are,in some sense,dual conceptions,and it turns out that these conceptions coincide for the ren situation,that is,a similar conception of ren-number(R-number)is devised for ren-symmetry.In particular,some basic results of the R-number and ren-symmetry are exposed which allow one to derive,in principle,some new types of integrable systems including ren-integrable models and ren-symmetric integrable systems.Training examples of ren-integrable KdV-type systems and ren-symmetric KdV equations are explicitly given.

Effect of Eu3+,Bi3+,and Li+ doping on luminescent property of GdNbo4

We investigated the emission properties of Eu3+-doped GdNbo4-based oxide phosphors,aiming at improving the Eu3+emission by codoping of Bi3+and Li+.Eu3+singly doped,Eu3+and Bi3+doubly doped,and Eu3+,Bi3+,and Li+triply doped GdNbo4were prepared using a high-temperature solid-state reaction method.The red-orange emissions from Eu3+in the singly doped samples are significantly improved by the codoping of Bi3+,mainly due to the energy transfer from Bi3+to Eu3+.The additional codoping of Li+is found to increase the Eu3+emission significantly.This improvement might be attributed to the increase in the photoluminescent quantum yield originating from larger grain sizes and better crystallinity.A detailed analysis of the X-ray diffraction pattern and the asymmetric ratio estimated from the photoluminescence spectra show that the local lattice environment around Eu3+in GdNbo4does not change significantly with the codoping of Bi3+and Li+.our results indicate that Li+doping is a promising way to improve the emission properties of rare-earth ion-doped GdNbo4phosphors.

Cretaceous volcanic-intrusive magmatism in western Guangdong and its geological significance

systematic zircon LA-ICPMs U-Pb dating reveals that Cretaceous volcanic-intrusive activities developed in western Guangdong. Representative volcanic rocks, i.e. Maanshan and Zhougongding rhyodacites, have zircon U-Pb isotopic ages of 100±1 Ma, and the intrusive ones in-cluding the Deqing monzonitic granite body and the Xinghua granodiorite body in the shidong com-plex, as well as the Tiaocun granodiorite body in the Guangping complex yield ages of 99±2 Ma, ca. 100 Ma, and 104±3 Ma respectively. The biotite-granites of the shidong complex main body (461±35 Ma) and that of the Guangping complex (444±6 Ma) are Caledonian. In spite of the big time interval between Cretaceous volcanic-intrusive magmatisms and Caledonian intrusive ones, both of them are characterized by enrichment in Rb, Th, Ce, Zr, Hf, sm, depletion in Ba, Nb, Ta, P, Ti, Eu, and weakly REE tetrad effect. Eu negative anomalies are: Cretaceous volcanic rocks (Eu/Eu*=0.74), Cretaceous intrusive rocks (Eu/Eu*=0.35―0.58), Caledonian biotite granites (Eu/Eu*=0.31―0.34). studies of sr-Nd isotope data show that all these igneous rocks have high initial 87sr/86sr ratios (0.7105―0.7518), and low εNd(t) values (?7.23―?11.39) with their Nd two-stage model ages ranging from 1.6―2.0 Ga, which suggest that they all derived from the Proterozoic crustal basement of southeast China. The occurrence of Cretaceous volcanic-intrusive magmatisms in western Guangdong is related with the important lithospheric extension event in southeast China (including Nanling region) at ca. 100 Ma. The “volcanic line” defined by the large scale Mesozoic intermediate-acidic volcanic magmatisms in southeast China may further extend to the southwest margin of Nanling region.

Effect of radiative loss mechanisms on FIR thermometric parameters of Nd3+-doped lithium tellurite glasses

Nd3+-doped tellurite glasses are promising materials for thermometers based on the fluorescence intensity ratio（FIR） technique.Nevertheless,at high Nd3+concentrations,energy transfer（ET） processes such as optical reabsorption and cross-relaxation can affect the Nd3+emission,which has been little explored in the literature.Therefore,the present work investigated the use of Nd3+-doped tellurite glass(samples doped with Nd3+at 0.2 mol%,0.5 mol%,2.0 mol%,and 4.0 mol%) in fluorescence thermometers,in the temperature range from 299 to 371 K.The results indicate a strong dependence of the FIR parameters on the Nd3+concentration,due to changes in the emission band profiles caused by optical reabsorption of the Nd3+emissions and cross-relaxation processes.A decrease of the relative sensitivity of the ratio4F5/2→4I9/2/4F3/2→4I9/2is observed for samples doped with higher amounts of Nd3+.The maximum relative sensitivity at 299 K is 3.00%/K,which is the highest value among the reported Nd3+ions.
