Experimental investigations were pedermed on the plastic deformation along bilinear strain paths with various values of corner-angle by subjecting thin-walled tubular specimens of type 302 stainless steel to combined axial and torsional loads. Variations of scalar and vectorial behavior of the stress response are discnssed in the vector space of plastic strain. It is found that the intrinsic geometry of loading path, the plastic strain history and the coapled effect among strain components effect effectively the stress response of the material. The experimental results also show that these effects will disappear gradually with increasing strain.

The deformation mechanisms and the flow stress behavior of a medium-manganese high-carbon steel during cold deformation at a strain rate of 10×5 s^-1 were explored using a universal testing machine,an x-ray diffractometer,a field emission scanning electron microscope and a high-resolution transmission electron *** results show that continuous step-up serrated flow behavior appears after the yielding point,and the true stress-strain curve is roughly divided into five stages based on distinctive densities and amplitudes of *** strengthening mechanisms of the experimental steel involve Cottrell atmosphere,twinning-induced plasticity(TWIP)efect and transformation-induced plasticity(TRIP)*** effect is the dominant deformation mechanism,and deformation twins formed by TWIP effect comprise primary,secondary and ***,TRIP effect arises in the local high-strain *** element plays a key role in the transformation of the deformation mechanism.A small amount of carbide precipitates around twin boundaries lead to the formation of local carbon-poor regions,and Md temperature and stacking fault energy of medium-manganese high-carbon steel are propitious to the occurrence of TRIP *** addition,the contributions of various deformation mechanisms to plasticity are calculated,and that of TWIP effect is the greatest.

One dimensional CeO_(2) nanorods/poly(ethylene oxide) solid composite electrolyte for all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries

Objective: The aim of the work described here was to evaluate the role of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUs) in response evaluation for unresectable advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treated with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) plus anti-programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) antibody therapy. Methods: A prospective cohort of consecutive patients with HCC who received combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody treatment for unresectable HCC between January 2022 and October 2022 was included in this study. The patients underwent unenhanced ultrasound (Us) and CEUs examinations before treatment and at follow-up. Changes in the largest diameters of the target tumor on unenhanced Us and the largest diameters of the enhancing target tumors on CEUs were evaluated. Response Evaluation Criteria in solid Tumors (RECIsT) version 1.1 with unenhanced Us and magnetic resonance imaging/computed tomography (MRI/CT) and modified RECIsT (mRECIsT) with CEUs and CEMRI/CT were used to assess treatment response. Results: A total of 24 HCC patients (23 men and 1 woman; mean age: 56.5 ± 8.5 y; Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer stage C, 62.5%; 29 intrahepatic target tumors) were studied. Calculations of degree of necrosis in the target tumors revealed no significant differences between CEUs and CEMRI/CT (44.5 ± 36.2% vs. 45.3 ± 36.8%, p = 0.862). As for the differentiation of responders from non-responders, the agreement between RECIsT version 1.1 of unenhanced Us and mRECIsT-CEUs was poor (κ coefficient = 0.233). Meanwhile, there was a high degree of concordance between mRECIsT-CEUs and mRECIsT-CEMRI/CT (κ coefficient = 0.812). Conclusion: CEUs proved to be superior to baseline Us and is comparable to CEMRI/CT in defining treatment outcome for combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody therapy. © 2023 World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology

The research of poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)-based solid composite electrolyte with high ionic conductivity and excellent interfacial stability is the key to the development of all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries(AssLIBs). Herein, uniform nanorod structured CeO_(2) fillers were controllably synthesized by electrospinning, which were subsequently filled into PEO polymer to prepare CeO_(2)/PEO solid composite electrolyte. The addition of CeO_(2) nanorods can reduce both the glass transition temperature and the melting point of PEO polymer, and also interact with PEO and lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulphonyl)imide(LITFsI) by Lewis acid—base reaction. Therefore, the solid composite electrolyte exhibits a high ionic conductivity of 4.52 × 10^(-4)s/cm, a wide electrochemical stability window of about 4.8 V, and a good interfacial stability with Li at 55℃. Moreover, the LiFePO_4/Li AssLIB divulges the discharging specific capacity of 165, 162, 156 and 146 mA,h/g at 0.2, 0.5, 1 and 2 C, respectively, and achieves the capacity retention of 90.3% after 150 cycles at 0.5 C. Consequently, one dimensional CeO_(2) nanorods can be considered as an alternative filler for polymeric solid electrolyte.

Effects of freeze-thaw cycles on sandstone in sunny and shady slopes

A growing rock engineering activity in cold regions is facing the threat of freeze-thaw(FT)weathering,especially in high mountains where the sunny-shady slope effects strongly control the difference in weathering behavior of *** this paper,an investigation of the degradation of petrophysical characteristics of sandstone specimens subjected to FT cycle tests to simulate the sunny-shady slope effects is *** this aim,non-destructive and repeatable testing techniques including weight,ultrasonic waves,and nuclear magnetic resonance methods on standard specimens were *** the sunny slope specimens,accompanied by the enlargement of small pores,100 FT cycles caused a significant decrease in P-wave velocity with an average of 23%,but a consistent rise of 0.18%in mass loss,34%in porosity,67%in pore geometrical mean radius,and a remarkable 14.5-fold increase in ***,slight changes with some abnormal trends in physical parameters of the shady slope specimens were observed during FT cycling,which can be attributed to superficial granular disaggregation and pore throat *** shocks enhance rock weathering on sunny slopes during FT cycles,while FT weathering on shady slopes is restricted to the small pores and the superficial *** two factors are primarily responsible for the differences in FT weathering intensity between sunny and shady *** conclusions derived from the interpretation of the experimental results may provide theoretical guidance for the design of slope-failure prevention measures and the selection of transportation routes in cold mountainous regions.

Achieving higher accuracy positioning results in urban environments at a lower cost has been an important pursuit in areas such as autonomous driving and intelligent *** Inertial Navigation system and Global Navigation satellite system(INs/GNss)integrated navigation systems have been an important means of fulfilling the above quest due to the complementary error characteristics between INs and *** complex urban driving environment requires the system sufficiently adaptive to keep up with the time-varying measurement noise and sufficiently robust to cope with measurement outliers and prior ***,many efforts lack a balance between adaptability and *** this paper,a novel positioning method with both adaptability and robustness is proposed by coupling the Mahalanobis distance method,the Variational Bayesian method and the student’s t-distribution in one process(M-VBt method).This method is robust against non-Gaussian noise and priori uncertainties,plus adaptive against measurement noise uncertainty and time-varying *** field test results show that the M-VBt method(especially the Mahalanobis distance part)has significantly improved the system performance in the complex urban driving environment.

The International Fossil Plant Names Index(IFPNI,2014-onwards)not only serves as an online gateway to the fossil plant name registry for the global scientific community,but also serves as a comprehensive and dynamic archive of fossil plants(Doweld,2016,2022).since its establishment in 2014,the IFPNI has accumulated more than 80,000 entries of fossil plant names,along with information on over 10,000 documents and over 6000 paleobotanists,all supported by exhaustive data,demonstrating the scope of the IFPNI's work(IFPNI,2014-onwards).

The widespread adoption of lithium-ion batteries has been driven by the proliferation of portable electronic devices and electric vehicles,which have increasingly stringent energy density *** metal batteries(LMBs),with their ultralow reduction potential and high theoretical capacity,are widely regarded as the most promising technical pathway for achieving high energy density *** this review,we provide a comprehensive overview of fundamental issues related to high reactivity and migrated interfaces in ***,we propose improved strategies involving interface engineering,3D current collector design,electrolyte optimization,separator modification,application of alloyed anodes,and external field regulation to address these *** utilization of solid-state electrolytes can significantly enhance the safety of LMBs and represents the only viable approach for advancing *** review also encompasses the variation in fundamental issues and design strategies for the transition from liquid to solid *** noteworthy is that the introduction of ssEs will exacerbate differences in electrochemical and mechanical properties at the interface,leading to increased interface inhomogeneity—a critical factor contributing to failure in all-solidstate lithium metal *** on recent research works,this perspective highlights the current status of research on developing high-performance LMBs.

The steel Catenary Riser(sCR)is a vital component for transporting oil and gas from the seabed to the floating *** harsh environmental conditions and complex platform motion make the sCR’s girth-weld prone to fatigue *** structural stress fatigue theory and Master s-N curve method provide accurate predictions for the fatigue damage on the welded joints,which demonstrate significant potential and compatibility in multi-axial and random fatigue ***,we propose a new frequency fatigue model subjected to welded joints of sCR under multiaxial stress,which fully integrates the mesh-insensitive structural stress and frequency domain random process and transforms the conventional welding fatigue technique of sCR into a spectrum analysis technique utilizing structural ***,a full-scale FE model of sCR with welds is established to obtain the modal structural stress of the girth weld and the frequency response function(FRF)of modal coordinate,and a biaxial fatigue evaluation about the girth weld of the sCR can be achieved by taking the effects of multi-load correlation and pipe-soil interaction into *** research results indicate that the frequency-domain fatigue results are aligned with the time-domain results,meeting the fatigue evaluation requirements of the sCR.

Betula platyphylla and Betula costata are important species in mixed broadleaved-Korean pine(Pinus koraiensis)***,the specific ways in which their growth is affected by warm temperatures and drought remain *** address this issue,60 and 62 tree-ring cores of *** and *** were collected in Yichun,*** dendrochronological methods,the response and adaptation of these species to climate change were examined.A“hysteresis effect”was found in the rings of both species,linked to May–september moisture conditions of the previous *** growth of *** was positively correlated with the standardized precipitation-evapotranspiration index(sPEI),the precipitation from september to October of the previous year,and the relative humidity in October of the previous *** of *** is primarily restricted by moisture conditions from september to *** contrast,*** growth is mainly limited by minimum temperatures in May–June of both the previous and current *** droughts,*** had a faster recovery rate compared to *** the context of rising temperatures since 1980,the correlation between *** growth and monthly sPEI became positive and strengthened over time,while the growth of *** showed no conspicuous *** findings suggest that the growth of *** is already affected by warming temperatures,whereas *** may become limited if warming continues or *** change could disrupt the succession of these species,possibly accelerating the succession of pioneer *** results of this research are of great significance for understanding how the growth changes of birch species under warming and drying conditions,and contribute to understanding the structural adaptation of mixed broadleaved-Korean pine(Pinus koraiensis)forests under climate change.
