Acute changes in ganglion cell layer thickness in ischemic optic neuropathy compared to optic neuritis using optical coherence tomography

AIM:To elucidate the changes of different ganglion cell layer(GCL)thinning patterns between the optic neuritis(ON)and non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy(NAION).METHODs:A prospective,observational study was conducted to evaluate the timing of GCL changes between acute ON and NAION using optical coherence ***:Thinning on optical coherence tomography in the NAION group occurs as early as 11 d after symptomatic onset of vision loss and follows an altitudinal *** mean superior-inferior GCL thickness difference in the NAION cohort was clinically significant at 5.7μm in the NAION cohort compared to controls of 0.8μm(P=0.032),but not significant in the ON group compared to controls with both groups measuring 1.1μ*** thinning was significant for the ON group compared to controls at 7.2μm(P=0.011)but not the NAION group compared to controls at 1.35μ***:These findings suggest that future treatments for NAION should be given early,and possibly before 11 d in order to prevent GCL and irreversible vision loss.

Objective:To investigate the association between age and semen parameters among male partners of subfertile ***:This retrospective study analyzed the semen of 1523 infertile men aged 26 to 50 *** were extracted from GarbhaGudi IVF Centre database from January 2019 to september *** basic semen parameters were interpreted according to the WHO manual 2021,6th *** parameters in different age groups were ***:Total and progressive motile sperms were significantly higher in the age group of 26-30 years compared to other age groups(Psperm count was significantly higher in the age group of 26-30 years compared to the age groups of 41-45 years and>46 years(P=0.001).However,sperm head defects,neck and midpiece defects,tail defects,and cytoplasmic droplets showed statistically insignificant difference in all the age groups(P>0.05).semen viscosity showed no statistical difference in all the age groups compared to the reference age group of 26 to 30 ***:Higher age can lead to a significant decrease in normal sperms and motility in subfertile ***,male partner age should be considered as one of the major determining factors for reproductive outcomes.

Two step equal channel angular pressing carried out on as cast ZE41 Mg alloy resulted in a remarkable grain *** compared to grain size of 46p.m in as cast sample,refinement upto 2.5^01 was achieved after 8th pass equal channel angular pressing(ECAP).The combined effect of crystallographic orientation and grain refinement was investigated by analysing the mechanical properties and corrosion behaviour of ZE41 Mg alloy using electron back scattered diffraction(EBsD).The first stage comprises of 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th passes at a processing temperature of 300℃while the 5th,6th,7th and 8th passes were ECAPed at 275℃in second *** mechanical properties of ZE41 Mg 158 yield tensile strength(YTs),230 ultimate tensile strength(UTs)and 7%elongation in as cast condition is enhanced to 236 YTs,295 UTs and 19.76%,respectively,after first stage *** yield tensile strength deteriorated due to the effect of texture predominating grain refinement during the second stage *** corrosion resistance of ZE41 Mg was significantly enhanced by ECAP and is inferred from electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIs)and potentiodynamic polarisation *** role of microstructure was minimal on corrosion behaviour of ZE41 Mg due to extra resistance when tested in 0M ***,the influence of grain refinement greatly influenced the improvement in corrosion resistance of ZE4I Mg rather than crystallographic orientation observed from *** contrast,the crystallographic orientation predominated the effect of grain refinement during ZE41 Mg corrosion in chloride containing(0.1 M and 1 M NaCl)*** the observation of results it is found that equal channel angular pressing has the dual advantage of improving mechanical properties and corrosion resista nee of ZE41 Mg alloy.

The demand for the exploration of ocean resources is increasing *** image data plays a significant role in many research *** this,the visual quality of underwater images is degraded because of two main factors namely,backscattering and ***,visual enhancement has become an essential process to recover the required data from the *** algorithms had been proposed in a decade for improving the quality of *** paper aims to propose a single image enhancement technique without the use of any external *** that,the degraded images are subjected to two main processes namely,color correction and image ***,veiling light and transmission light is estimated tofind the color required for *** light refers to unwanted light,whereas transmission light refers to the required light for color *** estimated outputs are applied in the scene recovery *** image obtained from color correction is subjected to a fusion process where the image is categorized into two versions and applied to white balance and contrast enhancement *** resultants are divided into three weight maps namely,luminance,saliency,chromaticity and fused using the Laplacian *** results obtained are graphically compared with their input data using RGB Histogram ***,image quality is measured and tabulated using underwater image quality measures.

This paper addresses the problem of real-time position and orientation estimation of networked mobile robots in two-dimensional Euclidean space with simultaneous tracking of a rigid unknown object based on exteroceptive sensory information extracted from distributed vision systems. The sufficient and necessary conditions for team localization are proposed. A localization and object tracking approach based on statistical operators and graph searching algorithms is presented for a team of robots localized with het- erogeneous sensors. The approach was implemented in an experimental platform consisting of car-like mobile robots equipped with omnidirectional video cameras and IEEE 802.11b wireless networking. The experimental results validate the approach.

Genetic divergence was studied in selected 36 genotypes of Dalbergia sissoo Roxb. on the basis of seven morphological parameters. The divergence among genotypes was estimated by Mahalanobis method and genotypes were grouped into clusters by Tocher＇s method. All the genotypes were classified into seven distinct clusters on the basis of seven morphological traits. Cluster 1 was the largest with 25 genotypes followed by Cluster 2 （four genotypes）. Cluster 3, 5, 6 and 7 were the divergent clusters. The D2 analysis revealed that D2 value （39.42） between clone 5040 and clone 201 was recorded maximum. The intra-cluster distance ranged from 0.00 （Cluster 3, 5, 6 and 7） to 3.89 （Cluster 1）, the Cluster 3 （clone 33） was the most divergent cluster with maximum inter cluster distance （13.97） with the Cluster 7. By the divergence analysis, the parents for hybridization from diverse clusters could be selected for heterotic hybrids.

This paper presents the effect on compressive strength and self-healing capability of bacterial concrete with the addition of calcium *** to normal concrete,bacterial concrete possesses higher durability and engineering concrete *** production of calcium carbonate in bacterial concrete is limited to the calcium content in *** calcium lactate is externally added to be an additional source of calcium in the *** influence of this addition on compressive strength,self-healing capability of cracks is highlighted in this *** bacterium used in the study is bacillus subtilis and was added to both spore powder form and culture form to the *** subtilis spore powder of 2 million cfu/g concentration with 0.5%cement was mixed to *** lactates with concentrations of 0.5%,1.0%,1.5%,2.0%,and 2.5%of cement,was added to the concrete mixes to test the effect on properties of *** other samples,cultured bacillus subtilis with a concentration of 1×10^cells/mL was mixed with concrete,to study the effect of bacteria in the cultured form on the properties of *** of 100 mm×100 mm×100 mm were used for the *** cubes were tested after a curing period of 7,14,and 28 d.A maximum of 12%increase in compressive strength was observed with the addition of 0.5%of calcium lactate in *** electron microscope and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy examination showed the formation of ettringite in pores;calcium silicate hydrates and calcite which made the concrete denser.A statistical technique was applied to analyze the experimental data of the compressive strengths of cementations *** surface methodology was adopted for optimizing the experimental *** regression equation was yielded by the application of response surface methodology relating response variables to input *** method aids in predicting the experimental results accurately with an acceptable range
