INTRODUCTION:Neutron spin echo(NsE) is one of the techniques with the highest energy resolution for quasi-elastic scattering by measuring rotation of the neutron *** neutron resonance spin echo(NRsE),two resonance spin flippers(RsFs) replace a homogeneous static magnetic field for spin precession in the conventional *** RsF,which flips the spin of a neutron by exchanging energy between the neutron and an oscillating magnetic field,gives the difference of wavenumber between up- and down-spin components of the neutron.

Non-stoichiometric samarium monosulfide（sms_x, 0.55≤x≤1.2） was synthesized from sm_2s_3 and smH_3 at 1273 K for 3 h under vacuum. The influence of reaction ratio of sm_2s_3 to smH_3 on the fabrication of sms_x was investigated. The fabrication of sms required the molar ratio of sm_2s_3 to smH_3 above 1. Lattice parameter of synthetic sms_x increased firstly and then decreased to saturate following with the addition of smH_3 content. sms_x compact was sintered at 1373 K by spark plasma sintering. Density of synthetic sms_x was about 99% of theory density. seebeck coefficient of n-type semiconductor sm sx decreased as temperature rose. The absolute value was distributed between 170–280 μV/K. The electrical resistivity of sms_x（0.86≤x≤1.07） decreased with temperature increasing and showed similar temperature dependence. The surplus sm which randomly distributed in the sms_x（0.55≤x≤0.75） matrix led to a remarked reduction of electrical resistivity. The optimized power factor for sms_（0.6） and sm s_（0.75） could reach 1500 μW/（K^2·m） at 600 K.

Termite queens and kings live longer than nonreproductive *** molecular mechanisms contributing to their long lifespan have been investigated;however,the underlying biochemical explanation remains *** Q(CoQ),a component of the mitochondrial electron transport chain,plays an essential role in the lipophilic antioxidant defense *** beneficial effects on health and longevity have been well studied in several ***,we demonstrated that long-lived termite queens have significantly higher levels of the lipophilic antioxidant CoQ_(10) than *** chromatography analysis revealed that the levels of the reduced form of CoQ_(10) were 4 fold higher in the queen's body than in the worker's *** addition,queens showed 7 fold higher levels of vitamin E,which plays a role in antilipid peroxidation along with CoQ,than ***,the oral administration of CoQ_(10) to termites increased the CoQ_(10) redox state in the body and their survival rate under oxidative *** findings suggest that CoQ_(10) acts as an efficient lipophilic antioxidant along with vitamin E in long-lived termite *** study provides essential biochemical and evolutionary insights into the relationship between CoQ_(10) concentrations and termite lifespan extension.

This paper presents a technique for controlling the pressure of a molten metal when using a new type of iron casting method called sand mold press casting to realize high productivity and obtain high-quality *** past test results using this method showed a casting yield of 90% to 95%,while conventional methods only show a casting yield of 60% to 70%.Although the press casting method does not require a sprue cup or runner channel casting defects such as metal penetration are often caused by the high pressure in the high-velocity pressing part of this casting ***,we proposed a pressure control method with a mathematical model of molten metal pressure,and with it we achieved experimental confirmation of the successful production of brake drums at different pressing *** show that the proposed pressing control method can realize sound,penetration-free casting ***,the theoretical analysis and design of this pressing process had not previously been studied sufficiently,and therefore this paper presents the theoretical design algorithm for the process as well as its experimental confirmation.

Eusocial insects display a caste system in which different castes are morpho-logically and physiologically specialized for different *** studies have revealed that epigenetic modifications,including DNA methylation and histone modification,me-diate caste determination and differentiation,longevity,and polyethism in eusocial *** there has been a growing interest in the relationship between epigenetic mech-anisms and phenotypic plasticity in termites,there is ltte information about differential expression levels among castes and expression sites for these genes in *** we show royaltissuc-specific expression of epigenetic modification genes in the termite Reticulitermes *** RNA-seq,we identified 74 genes,including three DNA methyltransferases,seven sirtuins,48 Trithorax group proteins,and 16 Polycomb group *** these genes,15 showed king-specific expression,and 52 showed age-dependent differential expression in kings and *** real-time PCR revealed that DNA methyltransferase 3 is expressed specifically in the king's testis and fat body,whereas some histone modification genes are remarkably expressed in the king's testis and queen's *** findings imply that epigenetic modification plays important roles in the gamete production process in termite kings and queens.

BACKGROUND Carcinoma of the ampulla of Vater is an uncommon ampullo-pancreatobiliary neoplasm,and the most common histological type is adenocarcinoma with a tubular growth *** micropapillary carcinoma(IMPC)is an aggressive variant of adenocarcinoma in several organs that is associated with lymph node metastasis and poor *** was first described as a histological subtype of breast cancer;however,IMPC of the ampulla of Vater is extremely rare,with only three articles reported in the English *** sUMMARY We have reported a case of IMPC of the ampulla of Vater in an 80-year-old ***,the surface area of the carcinoma was composed of tubulopapillary structures mimicking intra-ampullary papillary-tubular neoplasm,and the deep invasive front area exhibited a pattern of *** carcinoma showed lymphatic invasion and extensive lymph node *** immunohistochemical study revealed mixed intestinal and gastric/pancreatobiliary *** This rare subtype tumor in the ampulla of Vater showed a histologically mixed phenotype and exhibited aggressive behavior.

Objectives: For the medical care of older adults diagnosed with type 2 diabetes later in life, it is necessary to provide medical staff support considering their life stage and to ensure that they live a stable life without fatigue. However, there is no measure for evaluating whether older diabetic patients have a stable life at the time of diagnosis. This study aimed to develop a scale to evaluate self-care stability for diabetic patients and to verify its reliability and validity. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at four hospitals in Japan. A draft scale comprising 39 items was developed to identify patients’ stability of diabetes self-care in life. A total of 69 patients diagnosed with diabetes for the first time at age 60 or older responded effectively to questionnaires. Results: As a result of item analysis and factor analysis, seven factors comprising 20 items were extracted. The cumulative contribution ratio before rotation was 70.577%. Cronbach’s α was 0.700 overall. The total score on this scale and the sum of the revised Philadelphia Geriatric Center Morale scale scores were significantly positively correlated (r = 0.379). On comparing the total scale score based on glycated hemoglobin level, the scale score of the stable group was found to be higher. Therefore, this scale was found to be reliable and valid. Conclusions: This scale may have utility in the measurement of self-care stability in patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes later in life.
