Background:Hepatocellular carcinoma(Hcc)is.t.e most common cause of cancer-related death in saudi *** study aimed to investigate the patterns of Hcc and the effect of tNM staging,Alfa-fetoprotein(AFP),and child-turcotte Pugh(ctP)on patients’overall survival(Os).Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 43 Hcc patients at a single oncology center in saudi Arabia from 2015 to *** patients had to fulfill one of the following criteria:(a)a liver lesion reported as definitive Hcc on dynamic imaging and/or(b)a biopsy-confirmed ***:the mean patient age of all Hcc cases was 66.8 with a male-to-female ratio of 3.3:*** patients were stratified into two groups:viral Hcc(n=22,51%)and non-viral Hcc(n=21,49%).Among viral-Hcc patients,55%were due to HBV and 45%due to *** was diagnosed in 79%of *** and sex did not significantly statistically differ in Os among viral and non-viral Hcc patients(p-value>0.05).About 65%of patients had tumor size>5 cm during the diagnosis,with a significant statistical difference in Os(p-value=0.027).AFP was>400 ng/ml in 45%of the *** was a statistically significant difference in the Os in terms of AFP levels(p-value=0.021).A statistically significant difference was also observed between the ctP score and Os(p-value=0.02).ctP class B had the longest *** was.t.e most common treatment provided to Hcc patients followed by sorafenib *** was a significant statistical difference in Os among viral and non-viral Hcc patients(p-value=0.008).conclusions.t.e most common predictors for Os were the underlying cause of Hcc,AFP,and tumor *** having non-viral etiology,a tumor size>5 cm,an AFP>400 ng/mL,and a ctP score class c were all negatively associated with Os.

the erosion behavior of austempered ductile irons austenized at different temperatures was studied. the results indicate that the erosion rate well correlates with the mechanical properties. the hydrogen distribution of 16MnR steel weldment in hydrogen contained environment was calculated using the finite element method （ FEM）. the effect of welding residual stress on hydrogen diffusion has been discussed using a 3-D sequential coupling finite element analysis procedure complied by Abaqus code. the hydrogen diffusion coefficient in weld metal, the heat affected zone （HAZ）, and the base metal of the 16MnR steel weldment were measured using the electrochemical permeation technique. the hydrogen diffusion without the effect of stress was also calculated and compared. Owing to the existence of welding residual stress, the hydrogen concentration was obviously increased and the hydrogen wouM diffuse and accumulate in the higher stress region.

the experiments with solar, atmospheric, reactor and accelerator neutrinos have provided compelling evidences for oscillations of neutrinos caused by nonzero neutrino masses and neutrino mixing. the data imply the existence of 3-neutrino mixing in vacuum. We review the theory of neutrino oscillations, the phenomenology of neutrino mixing, the problem of the nature - Dirac or Majorana, of massive neutrinos, the issue of cP violation in the lepton sector, and the current data on the neutrino masses and mixing parameters. the open questions and the main goals of future research in the field of neutrino mixing and oscillations are outlined.

Biopolymers exhibit unique properties and can be produced from plants’ and crops’ wastes. cellulose has beenused for the production of sustainable materials, nevertheless due to the difficulty inherent to its extraction,several methods have been studied in order to optimize the process. therefore, this paper reports.t.e extractionof natural polymers from food sector agro-food wastes, including cellulose, following a green chemistry *** cellulose extracted from pumpkin peel was acetylated and dispersed in a polylactic acid (Pla) matrix. thedeveloped materials were characterized in terms of their structure, morphology and thermal stability. theresults demonstrated the efficient chemical modification of cellulose and confirmed its good dispersion withinthe Pla matrix.

the aim of this work is.t. boost the combined hydrogen and added-values compounds generation(acetaldehyde, acetic acid and ethyl acetate) through ethanol electrochemical reforming using bimetallic anodes. In particular, the influence of the secondary metal on the electrochemical performance as well as on the product distribution was studied. For that purpose, Pt X/c electrocatalysts(where X corresponds.t. cu, co, Ni and Ru) were synthesized by the modified polyol method and tested in both half-cell and proton exchange membrane(PEM) cell configurations. characterization results showed that incorporation of Ni and co into the Pt matrix enhances.t.e morphological properties of the material, providing smaller crystallite sizes, higher active surface areas and hence, better dispersion when comparing to Ru and cu-based electrocatalysts. Ethanol oxidation reaction(EOR) was evaluated by cyclic, linear voltammetry and chronopotentiometry assays. Pt co/c and Pt Ni/c exhibited the highest electrocatalytic activity at high polarization levels, which translate into an improvement of more than 30%(up to 1050 m A cm^(-2)) in the hydrogen production and chemical yields. On the other hand, Pt Ru/c results more advantageous for a lower potential interval(ting the acetic acid production despite sacrificing ethanol conversion. Pt cu/c presented the lowest results in both electrochemical performance and product distribution. such differences in the electrochemical performance can be rationalized in terms of the synergistic effect between both metals(particle size distribution, grade of dispersion and hydrophilic behavior), which demonstrate that the incorporation of a different secondary metal plays an essential role in the EOR development.

this paper presents a properly designed branchcurrent based state estimator(BcBsE)used as.t.e main core ofan accurate fault location approach(Fla)devoted to distribution *** to the approaches available in the literature,it uses only a limited s.t.of conventional measurementsobtained from smart meters.t. accurately locate faults at busesor branches without requiring measurements provided by phasor measurement units(PMUs).this is possible due to themethods used to model the angular reference and the faultedbus,in addition to the proper choice of the weights in the stateestimator(sE).the proposed approach is based on a searchingprocedure composed of up to three stages:①the identificationof the faulted zones;②the identification of the bus closest tothe fault;and③the location of the fault itself,searching onbranches connected to the bus closest to the ***,this paper presents a comprehensive assessment of the proposedapproach,even considering the presence of distributed generation,and a sens.t.vity study on the proper weights required bythe sE for fault location purposes,which can not be found inthe *** show that the proposed BcBsE-basedFla is robust,accurate,and aligned with the requirements ofthe traditional and active distribution networks.
