Identification and immune analysis of antimicrobial peptides from the cigarette beetle(Lasioderma serricorne)

Antimicrobial peptides(AMPs)in insects are endogenous peptides.that are effector components of the innate defense system of the *** may serve as antimicrobial agents because of their small molecular weight and broad-spectrum antimicrobial *** this study,we performed transcriptome analysis of cigarette beetle(Lasioderma serricorne)larvae,paras.tized by the ectoparas.tic wasp,Anisopteromalus *** AMP genes were significantly upregulated following *** paras.tism,postulating the hypothesis.that the paras.tization enhanced the host's resistance against pathogenic microorganisms.through the regulation of host AMP ***,3 AMP genes(LsDef1,LsDef2,and LsCole)were significantly upregulated and we studied their immune function in *** challenge and functional analysis showed that LsCole was responsible for the immune response against Gram-negative and Gram-pos.tive bacteria,while LsDef1 and LsDef2 were involved in insect defense against Gram-pos.tive *** recombinant LsCole exhibited antimicrobial activities against the Gram-negative bacterium Escherichia coli and the Gram-pos.tive bacterium staphylococcus ***2 showed an antibacterial effect against *** and LsDef2 exhibited antibiofilm activity against *** 2 AMPs disrupted cell membranes and caused leakage of *** cell *** results indicated that the 3 AMPs in *** are involved in the innate immunity of this pest *** AMPs may have potential as antimicrobial agents for bacterial infection ***,data are discussed in relation to new control strategies with greater biosafety against pest insects with use of microbial biocontrol agents in combination with RNA interference against the insect's defensive AMP genes.

Cytokines are critical in regulating immune responses and cellular behavior,playing dual roles in both normal physiology and the pathology of diseases such as *** molecules,including interleukins,interferons.tumor necrosis factors,chemokines,and growth factors like tGF-β,VEGF,and EGF,can promote or inhibit tumor growth,influence the tumor microenvironment,and impact the efficacy of cancer *** advances in targeting these pathways have shown promising therapeutic potential,offering new strategies.to modulate the immune system,inhibit tumor progression,and overcome resistance to conventional *** this review,we summarized the current understanding and therapeutic implications of targeting cytokine and chemokine signaling pathways in *** exploring the roles of these molecules in tumor biology and the immune response,we highlighted the development of novel therapeutic agents aimed at modulating these pathways.to combat *** review elaborated on the dual nature of cytokines as both promoters and suppressors of tumorigenesis,depending on the context,and discussed the challenges and opportunities.this presents for therapeutic *** also examined the latest advancements in targeted therapies,including monoclonal antibodies,bispecific antibodies,receptor inhibitors,fusion proteins,engineered cytokine variants,and their impact on tumor growth,metastasis,and the tumor ***,we evaluated the potential of combining these targeted therapies with other treatment modalities.to overcome resistance and improve patient ***,we also focused on the ongoing research and clinical trials.that are pivotal in advancing our understanding and application of cytokine-and chemokine-targeted therapies for cancer patients.

Chronic subdural hematoma(CsDH)is a disease characterized by capsuled blood products.that progressively occupy the intracranial space,causing intracranial hypertension and compression in the *** frequently occurs in all demographics,especially in the elderly,but the pathogenesis of CsDH remains *** this review,we discuss.the origin,development,and current treatment strategies of *** theﬁrst time,we analyzed the cellular and molecular compos.tions of hematoma membranes with a focus on neomembrane formation,a complex early-stage interactive event in hematoma *** hypothesize that in patients with CsDH,dural border cells(DBCs)might be induced to synthesize collagen or serum proteins might accumulate at the dura and arachnoid layers at the s.te of injury,thereby encapsulating the *** formation may trigger inﬂammatory responses after subdural hemorrhage,promotingﬁbroblast-involved extracellular matrix(ECM)depos.tion and aberrant angiogenesis within the outer ***,ECM depos.tion and angiogenesis mutually inﬂuence each other and are modulated by inﬂammatory *** illustrating the complex and interactive mechanism of neomembrane formation,we aim to provide a novel insight into CsDH pathogenesis and propose directions for future research as well as advancements in treatment strategies for this disease.

GAtit:An Intelligent Diagnosis Model Based on Graph Attention Network Incorporating text Representation in Knowledge Reasoning

the growing prevalence of knowledge reasoning using knowledge graphs(KGs)has substantially improved the accuracy and efficiency of intelligent medical ***,current models primarily integrate electronic medical records(EMRs)and KGs into the knowledge reasoning process,ignoring the differing significance of various.types of knowledge in EMRs and the diverse data types present in the *** better integrate EMR text information,we propose a novel intelligent diagnostic model named the Graph Attention network incorporating text representation in knowledge reasoning(GAtit),which comprises.text representation,subgraph construction,knowledge reasoning,and diagnostic *** the text representation process,GAtit uses a pre-trained model to obtain text representations of the EMRs and additionally enhances embeddings by including chief complaint information and numerical information in the *** the subgraph construction process,GAtit constructs.text subgraphs and disease subgraphs from the KG,utilizing EMR text and the disease to be *** differentiate the varying importance of nodes within the subgraphs features such as node categories,relevance scores,and other relevant factors are introduced into the text ***-passing strategy and attention weight calculation of the graph attention network are adjusted to learn these features in the knowledge reasoning ***,in the diagnostic classification process.the interactive attention-based fusion method integrates.the results of knowledge reasoning with text representations.to produce the final diagnosis *** results on multi-label and single-label EMR datas.ts demonstrate the model’s superiority over several state-of-theart methods.

Climate and soil Geochemistry Influence the soil Organic Carbon Content in Drylands of the songliao Plain, Northeast China

the understanding of the spatial distribution of soil organic carbon(sOC) and its influencing factors is crucial for comprehending the global carbon cycle. However, the impact of soil geochemical and climatic conditions on sOC remains limited, particularly in dryland farming areas. In this study, we aimed to enhance the understanding of the factors influencing the distribution of sOC in the drylands of the songliao Plain, Northeast China. A datas.t comprising 35,188 measured soil samples was used to map the sOC distribution in the region. Multiple linear regression(MLR) and random forest models(RFM) were employed to assess.the importance of driving indicators for sOC. We also carried out partial correlation and path analyses.to further investigate the relationship between climate and geochemistry. the sOC content in dryland soils of the songliao Plain ranged from 0.05% to 11.63%, with a mean value of 1.47% ± 0.90%. there was a notable increasing trend in sOC content from the southwest to the northeast regions. the results of MLR and RFM revealed that temperature was.the most critical factor, demonstrating a significant negative correlation with sOC content. Additionally, iron oxide was.the most important soil geochemical indicator affecting sOC variability. Our research further suggested that climate may exert an indirect influence on sOC concentrations.through its effect on geochemical properties of soil. these insights highlight the importance of considering both the direct and indirect impact of climate in predicting the sOC under future climate change.

Genomic surveillance of monkeypox virus(MPXV)is essential to explore the reason of its unusual *** phylogenomic analysis of the MPXV genome mainly focuses on the effect of amino acid ***,we explore the evolutionary variation of RNA G-quadruplex(RG4)of MPXV and find that the genome evolution of MPXV can also produce new effects.through changes in the RG4 *** RG4 is located in MPXV’s only Kelch-like C9L gene,which encodes for an antagonist of the innate immune *** evolution of this virus increases.the unfolding kinetic constant of C9L RG4 and promotes.the C9 protein level in living ***,all reported MPXV genomes in 2022 carry the C9L-RG4-5 pattern with the highest unfolding kinetic ***,the RG4 ligand,RGB-1,can impede the unfolding of C9L-RG4-5 and thereby reduce the C9 protein *** findings carve out a new path to comprehensively understanding MPXV virology.

stable Cycling of All-solid-state Lithium Metal Batteries Enabled by salt Engineering of PEO-Based Polymer Electrolytes

Poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)-based polymer electrolytes show the prospect in all-solid-state lithium metal batteries;however,they present limitations of low room-temperature ionic conductivity,and interfacial incompatibility with high voltage ***,a salt engineering of 1,1,2,2,3,3-hexafluoropropane-1,3-disulfonimide lithium salt(LiHFDF)/LitFsI system was developed in PEO-based electrolyte,demonstrating to effectively regulate Li ion transport and improve the interfacial stability under high *** show,by manipulating the interaction between PEO matrix and tFsI^(-)-HFDF^(-),the optimized solid-state polymer electrolyte achieves maximum Li+conduction of 1.24×10^(-4)s cm^(-1)at 40℃,which is almost 3 times of the ***,the optimized polymer electrolyte demonstrates outstanding stable cycling in the LiFePO_(4)/Li and LiNi_(0.8)Mn_(0.1)Co_(0.1)O_(2)/Li(3.0-4.4 V,200 cycles)based all-solid-state lithium batteries at 40℃.

Efficient and rapid capture of uranium(Ⅵ) in wastewater via multiamine modified β-cyclodextrin porous polymer

It is quite important to ensure the safety and sustainable development of nuclear energy for the treatment of radioactive wastewater. to treat radioactive wastewater efficiently and rapidly, two multi-amine β-cyclodextrin polymers(diethylenetriamine β-cyclodextrin polymer(DEtA-tFCDP) and triethylenetetramine β-cyclodextrin polymer(tEtA-tFCDP)) were prepared and applied to capture uranium. Results exhibited that DEtA-tFCDP and tEtA-tFCDP displayed the advantages of high adsorption amounts(612.2and 628.2 mg·g-1, respectively) and rapid adsorption rates, which can reach(88 ± 1)% of their equilibrium adsorption amounts in 10 min. Moreover, the adsorbent processes of DEtA-tFCDP and tEtAtFCDP on uranium(Ⅵ) followed the Langmuir model and pseudo-second-order model, stating they were mainly chemisorption and self-endothermic. Besides, tEtA-tFCDP also showed excellent selectivity in the presence of seven competing cations and could be effectively reused five times via Na2CO3as.the desorption reagent. Meanwhile, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy illustrated that the enriched multi-amine groups and oxygen-containing functional groups on the surface of tEtA-tFCDP were the main active s.tes for capturing uranium(Ⅵ). Hence, multi-amine β-cyclodextrin polymers are a highly efficient, rapid, and promising adsorbent for capturing uranium(Ⅵ)from radioactive wastewater.

the interfacial instability of the poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)-based electrolytes impedes.the long-term cycling and further application of all-solid-state lithium metal *** this work,we have shown an effective additive 1-adaman-tanecarbonitrile,which con-tributes.to the excellent per-formance of the poly(ethylene oxide)-based *** to the strong interaction of the 1-Adamantanecarboni-trile to the polymer matrix and anions.the coordination of the Li^(+)-EO is weakened,and the binding effect of anions is strengthened,thereby improving the Li^(+)conductivity and the electrochemical *** diamond building block on the surface of the lithium anode can sup-press.the growth of lithium ***,the 1-Adamantanecarbonitrile also regulates.the formation of LiF in the solid electrolyte interface and cathode electrolyte interface,which contributes.to the interfacial stability(especially at high voltages)and protects.the electrodes,enabling all-solid-state batteries.to cycle at high voltages for long periods of ***,the Li/Li symmetric cell undergoes long-term lithium plating/stripping for more than 2000 h.1-Adamantanecarbonitrile-poly(ethylene oxide)-based LFP/Li and 4.3 V Ni_(0.8)Mn_(0.1)Co_(0.1)O_(2)/Li all-solid-state batteries achieved stable cycles for 1000 times,with capacity retention rates reaching 85%and 80%,respectively.
