Purpose–The purpose of this paper is to build a classification system which mimics the perceptual ability of human vision,in gathering knowledge about the structure,content and the surrounding environment of a real-world natural scene,at a quick glance *** paper proposes a set of novel features to determine the gist of a given scene based on dominant color,dominant direction,openness and roughness ***/methodology/approach–The classification system is designed at two different *** the first level,a set of low level features are extracted for each semantic *** the second level the extracted features are subjected to the process of feature evaluation,based on inter-class and intra-class *** most discriminating features are retained and used for training the support vector machine(sVM)classifier for two different data ***–Accuracy of the proposed system has been evaluated on two data sets:the well-known Oliva-Torralba data set and the customized image data set comprising of high-resolution images of natural *** experimentation on these two data sets with the proposed novel feature set and sVM classifier has provided 92.68 percent average classification accuracy,using ten-fold cross validation *** set of proposed features efficiently represent visual information and are therefore capable of narrowing the semantic gap between low-level image representation and high-level human ***/value–The method presented in this paper represents a new approach for extracting low-level features of reduced dimensionality that is able to model human perception for the task of scene *** methods of mapping primitive features to high-level features are intuitive to the user and are capable of reducing the semantic *** proposed feature evaluation technique is general and can be applied across any domain.

Di-barium magnesium silicate phosphors doped with europium and dysprosium were prepared under a weak reducing atmosphere.X-ray diffraction pattern of the sample was also done that confirmed the proper preparation of the *** electron microscope（sEM） images confirmed that the sample has regular surface and uniform grain size *** studies of phosphorescence decay of Ba2Mgsi2O7：Eu^2＋,Dy^3＋ phosphors with different concentration of Dy^3＋ were *** phosphor with 0.5/1.5 mol%of Eu/Dy,exhibited optimum green color afterglow *** emission is expected to arise due to transition of Eu^2＋ ions from any of the sublevels of 4f^65d^1 configuration to ^8s（7/2） level of the 4f7 *** a suitable trap depth,the trap concentration is expected to be proportional to the concentration of Dy^3＋.These traps are responsible for holding the charge career for a reasonable time,subsequently for increasing the time of ***,optimum Dy3＊ concentration produces the longer afterglow duration with higher intensity of luminescence *** depth were also calculated using thermoluminescence glow curve which was indicative of formation of traps suitable for long afterglow.

Effect of rock joint roughness on its cyclic shear behavior

Rock joints are often subjected to dynamic loads induced by earthquake and blasting during mining and rock cutting. Hence, cyclic shear load can be induced along the joints and it is important to evaluate the shear behavior of rock joint under this condition. In the present study, synthetic rock joints were prepared with plaster of Paris(Po P). Regular joints were simulated by keeping regular asperity with asperity angles of 15°-15° and 30°-30°, and irregular rock joints which are closer to natural joints were replicated by keeping the asperity angles of 15°-30° and 15°-45°. The sample size and amplitude of roughness were kept the same for both regular and irregular joints which were 298 mm×298 mm×125 mm and 5 mm, respectively. shear test was performed on these joints using a large-scale direct shear testing machine by keeping the frequency and amplitude of shear load under constant cyclic condition with different normal stress values. As expected, the shear strength of rock joints increased with the increases in the asperity angle and normal load during the first cycle of shearing or static load. With the increase of the number of shear cycles, the shear strength decreased for all the asperity angles but the rate of reduction was more in case of high asperity angles. Test results indicated that shear strength of irregular joints was higher than that of regular joints at different cycles of shearing at low normal stress. shearing and degradation of joint asperities on regular joints were the same between loading and unloading, but different for irregular joints. shear strength and joint degradation were more significant on the slope of asperity with higher angles on the irregular joint until two angles of asperities became equal during the cycle of shearing and it started behaving like regular joints for subsequent cycles.

Paleoproterozoic Bijawars of the sonrai basin consists of(a) sonrai(mostly carbonate carbonaceous shale and phosphatic breccia) and(b) solda Formations(commonly chloritic and ferruginous shale) with well-developed clay-organo-rich facies,often marked with hydrothermal *** studies revealed abundance order of kaolinite> chlorite> illite> smectite;and kaolinite> illite> chlorite in clay(0.2-2.0 μm) fractions separated from the sonrai and solda Formations,*** understand atomic substitutions and trace elemental concentrations,clay minerals were analyzed by fusion ICPMs and *** normalized data plots show U,Th,Rb,Ba,Pb sr,and large-ion lithophiles enrichment,whereas,Bandai sandstone and Rohini carbonate clays show HREE enrichment with asymmetrical patterns,similar to those reported from the well-established McArthur River,Cigar Lake,and sue UTUD of *** Rohni carbonate,chondrite-normalized REE data plots revealed M shape REE patterns,ascribed to Gd-Tb-Dy-Ho tetrad effect and anomalous Y,Zr,and Hf *** to HREE incorporation in the clay inter-layers,linear and flattened REE trends were *** REE patterns associated with the highly altered chlorite and illite represent negative Eu anomaly related to the dilational nature of the uraninite structure and is suggestive of anoxic conditions.
