A systematic study on the influence of Nd^(3+) substitution on structural,magnetic and electrical properties of cobalt ferrite nanopowders obtained by sol–gel auto-combustion routewas *** formation of spinel phasewas confirmed by X-ray diffraction(XRD)data,and percolation limit ofNd3?into the spinel lattice was also *** transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)bands observed ≈580 and ≈390 cm^(-1 ) support the presence of Fe^(3+) at A andBsites in the spinel *** variation in microstructure was investigated by scanning electronmicroscopy(sEM),and the average grain size varies from 5.3 to 3.3 *** substitution of Nd^(3+) significantly affects the formation of pores and grain size of cobalt ***-temperature saturation magnetization and coercivity decrease from 60 to 30 mA·m^(2)·g^(-1) and 19.9–17.8 mT,respectively,with Nd^(3+) substitution *** decreases in magnetic properties are explained based on the presence of non-magnetic nature of Nd^(3+) concentration and the dilution of super-exchange interaction in the spinel *** room-temperature direct-current electrical resistivity increases with Nd^(3+) concentration increasing,which is due to the unavailability of Fe^(2+) at octahedral B sites.

Dye-sensitized photo-oxidation of disulfiram has been carried out under various reaction conditions including change in solvents and sensitizers. The product has been isolated and characterized by its physical, chemical and spectral data. To confirm the participation of singlet-oxygen in the reaction, the experiment has also been carried out in the presence of various singlet oxygen scavengers.

Pattern of spatial variability in granulometric and mineralogical characteristics across an ecologically sensitive sub-tropical wetland(Bihar, India)

Floodplain wetlands are dynamic systems undergoing frequent hydro-sedimentological changes. Tropical/subtropical wetlands have even more pronounced climatic and biological influences on the sediment dynamics. In the current study, a protected subtropical wetland in Bihar(India) has been assessed for its sedimentary and mineralogical status. sediment characteristics and associated granulometric parameters are discussed to highlight the wetland’s hydrogeomorphic character, energy dimension, and the depositional processes taking place. statistical grain size parameters like graphic mean, graphic skewness,graphic kurtosis, and their interrelations studies have helped in understanding the sources of deposited materials. Multivariate statistics have identified, sand fractions, measures of central tendencies(mean,median, and mode), percent organic matter(%OM) and percent carbonates(%carbonates) as primary factors explaining the maximum variance in the data. The non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis test has identified %sand, %clay, electrical conductivity(EC), and %carbonates as the major factors responsible for significant spatial variability. The grain texture analysis shows that the majority of samples fall in the brackets of clayey silt; silty sand; and sand, silt, and clay. Common mineral components associated with these are quartz, feldspar, clay minerals, etc. The range for the mean grain size lies between 3Φ to 9Φ(Φ is diameter of the sediments) where most of the grain size distributions are symmetrically to fine symmetrically skewed, indicating intermediate energy to adjust to environmental conditions. The granulometric and physicochemical characteristics of the sediment samples also indicate the directional distribution pattern of sediment along the hydrological pathway. Future studies concentrating on the fluvial discharges of water and sediment will be highly insightful in reconstructing the past net sediment accumulation processes in the Baraila Wetland.

Electrochemical Impedance Analysis of Biofunctionalized Conducting Polymer-Modified Graphene-CNTs Nanocomposite for Protein Detection

We report an electrodeposited poly(pyrrole-co-pyrrolepropylic acid) copolymer modified electroactive graphene-carbon nanotubes composite deposited on a glassy carbon electrode to detect the protein antigen(cTnI). The copolymer provides pendant carboxyl groups for the site-specific covalent immobilization of protein antibody, antitroponin I. The hybrid nanocomposite was used as a transducer for biointerfacial impedance sensing for cTnI *** results show that the hybrid exhibits a pseudo capacitive behaviour with a maximum phase angle of 49° near 1 Hz,which is due to the inhomogeneous and porous structure of the hybrid composition. The constant phase element of copolymer is 0.61(n = 0.61), whereas, it is 0.88(n = 0.88) for the hybrid composites, indicating a comparatively homogeneous microstructure after biomolecular functionalization. The transducer shows a linear change in charge transfer characteristic(R_(et)) on cTnI immunoreaction for spiked human serum in the concentration range of 1.0 pg mL^(-1)–10.0 ng mL^(-1). The sensitivity of the transducer is 167.8 ± 14.2 Ω cm^2 per decade, and it also exhibits high specificity and good reproducibility.

Heat and mass transfer study in fluidized bed granulation-Prediction of entry length

Fluidized bed granulation is a process by which granules or coated particles are produced in a single piece of equipment by spraying a hinder as solution, suspension, or melt on the fluidized powder bed. Heat and mass transfer correlation useful for designing a granulator has been derived based on the equivalence of evaporation rate of the liquid to the heat transferred from hot gas to particles：（m/A）Dp^2λ/Lmf（1-εmf）（Tg-Tl）Kg=hDp/*** equation is applied to data on granulation experiments by different workers to calculate Reynolds number and Nusselt number to obtain a relation between heat and mass transfer from gas to particles during granulation on a logarithmic scale from which the following empirical relation is obtained： Nu=0.0205Re^1.3876 which is comparable to Kothari＇s correlation Nu=0.03Re^*** using the heat and mass transfer correlation obtained, the entry length, that is the length of granulator up to which effective heat transfer from gas to bed particles takes place, is estimated, which is also validated with experimental study. The correct estimation of entry length is useful in optimal design of a granulator.

spin-Relaxation of NiO Encapsulated Gd_2O_3 Core–shell Nanoparticles

Nickel oxide encapsulated gadolinium oxide （Gd203~IiO） core-shell nanoparticles （Nps） has been synthesized by polyol method and analyzed by transmission electron microscopy. The particle size is found to vary from 25 to 35 nm. Raman spectra show the gadolinium oxide core material peaks are found to be diminished by the mass effect of the NiO shell material. The dynamics of the magnetic moment has been studied with the help of temperature dependent electron paramagnetic resonance （EPR） spectroscopy. Peak-to-peak line width （AHpp） value of the EPR spectra increases with decreasing temperature. Temperature dependence of line width shows the dominance of spin-lattice relaxation in these systems, and it can be used as T~ contrast agent. spin number estimated from EPR studies increases with the decrease of the temperature. The interfacial exchange coupling between the core and shell region is found to be existing at very low temperatures as determined by EPR studies in this non-magnetic/antiferromagnetic （NM/AFM） core/shell nanosystem. The effects of the temperature on the magnetic properties of the Gd203/NiO core/shell NPs and the underlying mechanism have been discussed.

Adaptive relay co-ordination using a busbar splitting approach for a system integrity protection scheme

Power system faults can often result in excessively high *** sustained for a long time,such high currents can damage system ***,it is desirable to operate the relays in the minimum possible *** this paper,a busbar splitting approach is used for adaptive relay setting and co-ordination purposes for a system integrity protec-tion scheme(sIPs).Whenever a fault occurs,the busbar splitting scheme splits a bus to convert a loop into a radial *** splitting schemes are chosen such that the net fault current is also *** splitting elimi-nates the dependency upon minimum breakpoints set(MBPs)and reduces the relay operating time,thus making it *** proposed methodology is incorporated into the IEEE 14-bus and IEEE 30-bus systems with single and multiple fault *** modeling and simulation carried out in ETAP,and the results of the proposed busbar splitting-based relay co-ordination are compared with the MBPs splitting-based relay co-ordination.
