There is a strong evidence supporting the hypothesis of synaptic dysfunction as a major contributor to neural circuit and network disruption underlying emotional and mood dysregulation in psychiatric disorders(simmons et al.,2024).Diverse sets of distinct molecular signaling pathways converge on the synapse to regulate synaptogenesis,synaptic function,and synaptic plasticity in brain regions and circuits through complex interactions organized by numerous multivalent protein scaffolds,including the family of proteins known as A-kinase anchoring proteins(AKAPs).

The storage space and cost for smart Grid datasets has been growing exponentially due to its high data-rate of various sensor readings from Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI), and Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs). The paper focuses on Phasor Data Concentrators (PDCs) that aggregate data from PMUs. PMUs measure real-time voltage, current and frequency parameters across the electrical grid. A typical PDC can process data from anywhere ten to forty PMUs. The paper exploits the need for appropriate security and data compression challenges simultaneously. As a result, an optimal compression method ER1c is investigated for efficient storage of IREG and C37.118 timestamped PDC data sets. We expect that our approach can greatly reduce the storage cost requirements of commercial available PDCs (sEL 3373, GE Multilin P30) by 80%. For example, 2 years of PDC data storage space can be easily replaced with only 10 days of storage space. In addition, our approach in combination with AEs 256 encryption can protect PDC data to larger degree as per National Institute of standards and Technology (NIsT) standards.

Blind adaptive beamforming is getting appreciated for its various applications in contemporary communication systems where sources are statistically dependent or independent that are allowed to formulate new algorithms. Qualitative performance and time complexity are the main issues. In this paper, we propose a technique for constant modulus signals applying basic non-negative matrix factorization (BNMF) in blind adaptive beamforming environment. We compared the existing Unscented Kalman Filter based Constant Modulus Algorithm (UKF-CMA) with proposed NMF-UKF-CMA algorithm. We see there is a better improvement of sensor array gain, signal to interference plus noise ratio (sINR) and mean squared deviation (MsD) as the noise variance and the array size increase with reduced computational complexity with the UKF-CMA.

Tanneries reusing wastewater by combination of conventional and advanced Reverse Osmosis (RO) treatment technologies were assessed for technical and economic viabilities. Conventional treatment methods such as neutralization, clari-flocculation and biological processes are followed to clean the effluents before feeding to RO membrane modules. The characteristics of untreated composite effluents such as pH, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), total suspended solids (Tss), total dissolved solids (TDs), and total chromium were in the range of 4.00-4.60, 680-3600 mg/L, 1698-7546 mg/L, 980-1480 mg/L, 4200-14500 mg/L, and 26.4-190 mg/L, respectively. Inorganic ions like Ca2+, Na+, Cl– and sO42– were found more in the wastewaters. Conventional treatments significantly removed the organic pollutants however failed to remove dissolved inorganic salts. Membrane technology removed the salts as well as remaining organic pollutants and the product water is reused in the process. The studied tanneries (5 numbers) have achieved 93-98%, 92-99% and 91-96% removal of TDs, sodium and chloride, respectively. seventy to eighty five percentage of wastewater was recovered and recycled in the industrial processes. The rejects are subject to either solar evaporation system or Multiple Effect Evaporation (MEE) technology. The resulting salts are collected in polythene bags and disposed into scientifically managed secured land fill (sLF) site. The cost of wastewater treatment for operation and maintenances of RO including the pre-treatments (conventional methods) is INR 100-110 m-3.

synchrophasors are the state-of-the-art measuring devices that sense various parameters such as voltage, current, frequency, and other grid parameters with a high sampling rate. This paper presents an approach to visualize and analyze the smart-grid data generated by synchrophasors using a visualization tool and density based clustering technique. A MATLAB based circle representation tool is utilized to visualize the real-time phasor data generated by a smart-grid model that mimics a synchrophasor. A density based clustering technique is also used to cluster the phasor data with the aim to detect contingency situations such as bad-data classification, various fault types, deviation on frequency, voltage or current values for better situational alertness. The paper uses data from an IEEE fourteen bus system test-bed modeled in MATLAB/sIMULINK to aid system operators in carrying various predictive analytics, and decisions.
