Multiple linear regression, artificial neural network, and fuzzy logic prediction of 28 days compressive strength of concrete

Evaluating the in situ concrete compressive strength by means of cores cut from hardened concrete is acknowledged as the most ordinary method, however, it is very difficult to predict the compressive strength of concrete since it is affected by many factors such as different mix designs, methods of mixing, curing conditions, compaction, etc. In this paper, considering the experimental results, three different models of multiple linear regression model （MLr）, artificial neural network （ANN）, and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system （ANFIs） are established, trained, and tested within the Matlab programming environment for predicting the 28 days compressive strength of concrete with 173 different mix designs. Finally, these three models are compared with each other and resulted in the fact that ANN and ANFIs models enables us to reliably evaluate the compressive strength of concrete with different mix designs, however, multiple linear regression model is not feasible enough in this area because of nonlinear relationship between the concrete mix parameters. Finally, the sensitivity analysis （sA） for two different sets of parameters on the concrete compressive strength prediction are carried out.

In open normative multi-agent communities,an agent is not usually and explicitly given the norms of the host ***,when it is not able to adapt the communities's norms,it is totally deprived of accessing resources and services from the *** circumstance severely affects its performance resulting in failure to achieve its ***,this study attempts to overcome this deficiency by proposing a technique that enables an agent to detect the host's potential norms via self-enforcement and update its norms even in the absence of sanctions from a *** authors called this technique as the potential norms detection technique(PNDT).The PNDT consists of five components: Agent's belief base; observation process; potential norms mining algorithm(PNMA);verification process; and updating *** authors demonstrate the operation of the PNMA algorithm by testing it on a typical scenario and analyzing the results on several *** tests' results show that the PNDT performs satisfactorily albeit the success rate depends on the environment variables settings.

A new technique to produce ultra-fine grained tubular specimen has been proposed, and the experiments have been performed using equal channel angular pressing （ECAP） with an angle of 90 between two intersecting channels and also the use of rubber pad as a mandrel during process. Commercial purity copper tubes have been pressed up to three passes through four different fundamental routes （A, BA, Bc, and C） directions of which are identified in the text below. The influence of each route on the value, distribution, and homogeneity of hardness has been investigated by applying Vickers micro-hardness measurements at various locations of the tube＇s transverse planes. significant enhancement of the hardness is observed after the first pass ECAP. Also, routes C and Bc show, respectively, better average hardness magnitude and hardness distribution uniformity. In addition, the results indicate that there is about 50% and 62% reduction of the grain size, compared to the annealed condition, following ECAP process of the copper tube sample after the first and the third pass via route Bc.

Kieselguhr for chromatography was loaded with Cyanex 572 extractant and characterized using X-ray diffraction(XrF),scanning electron microscopy(sEM),Fourier transform infra-red(FT-Ir),and thermal *** of some heavy lanthanides together with yttrium by the prepared kieselguhr/Cy-572 sorbent was investigated by batch experiment in terms of initial metal ions concentrations,volume to solid mass ratio(V/m),sulfuric acid concentration as well as *** sorption equilibrium of Cy-572 loaded kieselguhr was satisfactorily explained by the pseudo second-order kinetic model and Langmuir isotherm ***,the values of thermodynamic parameters △G°,△H°,and △s°at25℃of the studied metal ions show that the process is spontaneous and endothermic in nature.2.0 mol/L HNO3 is promising to desorb these metal ions.

Estimation of the novel antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, antinociceptive and antihyperlipidemic effects of silymarin in Albino rats and mice

Objective: To evaluate the other pharmacological actions of silymarin in Albino rats and mice such as antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, antinociceptive and antihyperlipidemic effects. Methods: rats were injected intramuscularly with pyrogenic dose of brewer's yeast for the antipyretic test of silymarin. Another group of rats injected with 0.1 mL of 1% carrageenan solution in saline at the subplanter area of the right hind paw for the anti-inflammatory test of silymarin. Another group of mice tested by hot plate method for determination of antinociceptive effect of silymarin. Hyperlipidemia was induced using high fat diet for 2 months to estimate the antihyperlipidemic activity of silymarin. results: silymarin showed a significant antipyretic effect of both doses(50 and 100 mg/kg) compared with control untreated group. Moreover, silymarin elucidated a significant anti-inflammatory effect of both doses reflected on the decrease of the rat paw edema every hour interval for 4 h after administration in comparison with control positive group. By the same taken, both doses of silymarine revealed a significant antinociceptive action in hot plate method at 30 and 60 min post administration. Besides, it lowered significantly the serum levels of prostaglandin E2, tumor necrosis factor alpha and interleukin 1 beta after 2 h of silymarin administration in carrageenan induced rat paw edema besides the significant decrease of total cholesterol, triglycerides, low density lipoprotein and significantly elevated high density lipoprotein after 2 weeks of silymarin administration. Conclusions: These outcomes delivered a new vision into the possible pharmacological mechanisms by which silymarin advances antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, antinociceptive and antihyperlipidemic effects.

The theoretic transformation group approach is applied to address the problem of unsteady boundary layer flow of a non-Newtonian fluid near a stagnation point with variable viscosity and thermal conductivity. The application of a two- parameter group method reduces the number of independent variables by two, and consequently the governing partial differential equations with the boundary conditions transformed into a system of ordinary differential equations with the appropriate corresponding conditions. Two systems of ordinary differential equations have been solved numerically using a fourth-order runge-Kutta algorithm with a shooting technique. The effects of various parameters governing the problem are investigated.

AIM To investigate the hepatic microcirculatory changes due to Haemoxygenase(HO),effect of HO inhibition on remote ischemic preconditioning(rIPC) and modulation of *** Eight groups of animals were studied- sham,ischemia reperfusion injury(IrI) the animals were subjected to 45 min of hepatic ischemia followed by three hours of reperfusion,rIPC(remote ischemic preconditioning) + IrI group,remote ischemic preconditioning in sham(rIPC + sham),PDTC + Ir(Pyridodithiocarbamate,HO donor),Zn PP + rIPC + IrI(Zinc protoporphyrin prior to preconditioning),Ir-24(45 min of ischemia followed by 24 h of reperfusion),rIPC+Ir-24(preconditioning prior to. After 3 and 24 h of reperfusion the animals were killed by exsanguination and samples were taken. rEsULTs Velocity of flow(160.83 ± 12.24 μm/s),sinusoidal flow(8.42 ± 1.19) and sinusoidal perfusion index(42.12 ± 7.28) in hepatic Ir were lower(P rison to rIPC and PDTC(HO inducer). rIPC increased velocity of flow(328.04 ± 19.13 μm/s),sinusoidal flow(17.75 ± 2.59) and the sinusoidal perfusion index(67.28 ± 1.82)(P reproduced the effects of rIPC in hepatic Ir. PDTC restored rBC velocity(300.88 ± 22.109 μm/s),sinusoidal flow(17.66 ± 3.71) and sinusoidal perfusion(82.33 ± 3.5) to near sham levels. Zn PP(HO inhibition) reduced velocity of flow of rBC in the rIPC group(170.74 ± 13.43 μm/s and sinusoidal flow in the rIPC group(9.46 ± 1.34). Zn PP in rIPC(60.29 ± 1.82) showed a fall in perfusion only at 180 min of reperfusion. Neutrophil adhesion in Ir injury is seen in both postsinusoidal venules(769.05 ± 87.48) and sinusoids(97.4 ± 7.49). Neutrophil adhesion in rIPC + Ir injury is reduced in both postsinusoidal venules(219.66 ± 93.79) and sinusoids(25.69 ± 9.08)(P reduced neutrophil adhesion in both postsinusoidal venules(89.58 ± 58.32) and sinusoids(17.98 ± 11.01)(P reproducing the effects of rIPC.
