Growing cities are creating an alarming situation in all countries of the *** has led to serious land use problems such as loss of agricultural land,unauthorized urban sprawl,high land values,speculation in land,and other related *** this emerging scenario,it is essential to have updated information on urban growth patterns and their impact on the living *** and development of these cities are likely to continue and therefore there will be a need for proper planning and managing or improving the existing infrastructure *** study demonstrates image fusion of LIss-IV MX and Cartosat-1 satellite data to create detailed town planning and utility mapping for amenity patterns and facilities available in Karaikal city,*** patterns within the city are analyzed and a road network map is generated.A proximity analysis was carried out to understand the availability of institutions,hospitals,and industries for effective disaster *** has grown rapidly in all directions especially in north,northwest and west parts.A big question for planners is the provision of proper *** geographic information system and remote sensing,city administrators can now evolve an expert decision support system aimed at various decisionmaking processes.

Influence of Filler Metals in the Control of Deleterious Phases During the Multi-pass Welding of Inconel 718 Plates

The present study reported the effect of filler metals on the microstructure and mechanical properties of pulsed current gas tungsten arc-welded Inconel 718 plates. Two different filler metals such as ERNiCr-3 and ERNiCrMo-4 were employed for welding Inconel 718. The primary objective of this study is to suppress or eradicate the deleterious phase such as Laves or δ （delta） which is considered to be detrimental to the weld properties. Microstructure examination corroborated the presence of unmixed zone at the HAZ for both the weldments. Tensile test trials envisaged that ERNiCrMo-4 weldments offered better tensile properties compared to ERNiCr-3 weldments, whereas the impact toughness was found to be better for ERNiCr-3 weldments. Line mapping analysis was carried out to study the elemental migration across the weldments. The structure-property relationships of the weldments were arrived at using the combined tech- niques of optical and scanning electron microscopy. Optical and sEM/EDAX analysis showed that there is no prominent occurrence of deleterious phases at the weld zone on employing these filler metals.

1 Results Nanostructured spinel-type Li4Ti5O12 (LTO) was prepared using Lewis acid base reaction technique involving a mixture of titanium β-diketonate and lithium nitrate as starting materials in the presence of aqueous citric acid as a solvolysis agent.
