Permo–Triassic and Liassic Tethyan Oceanic Tracts within the Pontide Belt Along the southern Margin of Eurasia, Northern Anatolia

The Pontide belt in northern Turkey includes three major tectonic terranes,the strandja Massif（sj M）,and the Istanbul（IsZ）and sakarya Zones（sZ）(Fig.1).We present new age and geochemical data from ophiolites and ophiolitic mélanges within the sakarya Zone and show that these mafic–ultramafic rocks are the remnants of Tethyan oceanic lithosphere formed in different tectonic *** main ophiolite occurrences investigated in this study along the Karakaya suture（Ks）are associated with the latest Triassic Cimmeride orogeny,and in the Küre–Yusufeli ophiolite belt are part of the Alpide *** Karakaya suture Zone ophiolites in northern west Turkey are comprised mainly of the Denizgoren（?anakkale）ophiolite,Bo?azk?y（Bursa）,Geyve（sakarya）,Almac?k（Düzce）and?ele（Bolu）*** Denizg?ren ophiolite largely contains upper mantle peridotites,which are equivalents of the Permo–Triassic Lesvos peridotites and mélange units farther sW in the northern Aegean *** Bo?azk?y ophiolite includes serpentinite and metagabbro,and the Almac?k and Geyve ophiolites display an almost complete Penrose–type sequence consisting of serpentinizeduppermantleperidotites,cumulate ultramafic–mafic rocks,isotropic gabbros,dolerite and plagiogranite dikes,and extrusive rocks.U–Pb zircon dating of plagiogranite dikes from?ele has revealed an igneous age of 260 Ma,and 255,235,227 Ma from Almac?k（Bozkurt et al.,2012a,b）.Consistent with the previouslypublished Permo–Triassic age,we obtained a 268.4±6.3 Ma U–Pb zircon age from a plagiogranite dike within the Almacik ophiolite to the *** Ks ophiolite belt containing the?ele,Almac?k,Geyve ophiolites within the sZ extends westward into the Armutlu Peninsula and then into the Biga Peninsula（***?ren ophiolite）and most likely connects with the remnants of the Triassic Meliata–Meliac ocean basin（stampfli and Borel,2002）in the Balkan *** Ks ophiolites also continue eastward within the Pontide Belt into the Elekda?ophiolite（e

In vitro antibacterial and antitumor activities of some medicinal plant extracts, growing in Turkey

Objective: To investigate antibacterial and antitumor activities of 51 different extracts prepared with 3 types of solvents (water, ethanol and methanol) of 16 different plant species (Ajuga reptans (A. reptans) L., Phlomis pungens (P. pungens) Willd., Marrubium astracanicum (M. astracanicum) Jacq., Nepeta nuda (N. nuda) L., stachys annua (s. annua) L., Genista lydia (G. lydia) Boiss., Nuphar lutea (N. lutea) L., Nymphaea alba (N. alba) L., Vinca minor (V. minor) L., stellaria media (s. media) L., Capsella bursa-pastoris (C. bursa-pastoris) L., Galium spurium (G. spurium) L., Onosma heterophyllum (O. heterophyllum) Griseb., Reseda luteola (R. luteola) L., Viburnum lantana (V. lantana) L. and Mercurialis annua (M. annua) L.) grown in Turkey was conducted. Methods: Antibacterial activity was evaluated with 10 bacteria including streptococcus pyogenes (s. pyogenes), staphylococcus aureus (s. aureus), staphylococcus epidermidis (s. epidermidis), Escheria coli (E. coli), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa), salmonella typhimurium (s. typhimurium), serratia marcescens (s. marcescens), Proteus vulgaris (P. vulgaris), Enterobacter cloacae (E. cloacea), and Klebsiella pneumoniae (K. pneumoniae) by using disc diffusion method. Antitumor activity was evaluated with Agrobacterium tumefaciens (A. tumefaciens)-induced potato disc tumor assay. Results: Best antibacterial activity was obtained with ethanolic extract of P. pungens against s. pyogenes . Ethanolic and methanolic extract of N. alba and ethanolic extract of G. lydia also showed strong antibacterial activities. Results indicated that alcoholic extracts especially ethanolic extracts exhibited strong antibacterial activity against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Best antitumor activity was obtained with methanolic extracts of N. alba and V. lantana (100% tumor inhibition). Validity and reliability study of Turkish version on low vision with quality of life questionnaire

AIM:To adapt the low vision-related quality of life(LVQOL) instrument into Turkish language and to assess its validity and ***:The study was conducted in 387 patients attending the Centre of Low Vision Rehabilitation,Faculty of Medicine,Ankara *** statistical analyses,the spearman's correlation coefficient,Cronbach's alpha coefficient and Confirmatory Factor Analysis(CFA) were ***:According to results of CFA,the item in the 'Adjustment' subscale because of having the factor loading below 0.40,was excluded from the *** reliability of the questionnaire was assessed according to Cronbach's alpha *** reliability of the 'Distance Vision,Mobility,and Lighting' subscale was ?琢=0.863;of the 'Adjustment' subscale was ?琢=0.694;'Reading and Fine Work' was ?琢=0.791,and 'Activities of Daily Living' was ?琢= *** these results indicate that the questionnaire is reliable to measure the vision related quality of life of low-vision *** correlations between the subscales were also analyzed,and the correlation between 'Adjustment' and 'Reading and Fine Work' was found to be the lowest(rs=0.336,P s the strongest correlation was found between the 'Reading and Fine Work',and 'Activities of Daily Living'.Additionally,the 'Adjustment' dimension showed the strongest correlation with only 'Distance Vision,Mobility,and Lighting' ***:After removing the last item in the second dimension,the Turkish adaptation of all dimensions of the LVQOL has been shown to be reliable,valid and suitable for use in patients with low vision in Turkey.

Intelligent Machine Theory--A Key Approach to Initiate the Age of Designing Thinking Computers

The purpose of this paper is to introduce an unknown method for finding a real possible x value of any degree polynomial equation and to show how this can be applied to make computers which are at least x1000 （one thousand times） faster than today＇s existing highest speed computers. since one of the Milennium Prize Problems offered by Claymath asks about whether P （Deterministic Polynomial） is equal to NP （Non-Deterministic Polynomial）（what that means informally is that whether we can design a computer which can quickly solve a certain complicated problem can also verify the solution quickly （and vice versa）. Fortunately, the answer to P vs. NP problem based on my findings in certain algebraic algorythms is yes although there have been many people who claimed the answer is no. What that means is that humans can make machines that work very fast and close to human intelligence in the identification of, say, certain proteins and amino acids, in case my theory is proven to be a fact. This paper is therefore an initial stage of planting the first seeds of the process, in terms of describing how exactly this can happen, theoretically of course, since everything in science begins with a theory based on the outcome of a hypothesis.

Effects of Adding Boron Compounds to Glycol Based Grinding Aids on Cement Compressive strengths Performance

In this study, the effect of substituting boron compounds with glycol-based grinding aids to the compressive strength performances of cement was investigated. Monoethylene glycol (MEG) and diethylene glycol (DEG) were used as glycol-based grinding aids, and anhydrous borax and boric acid were used as boron compounds in the tests. CEM I type cement production was carried out with the addition of grinding aid mixtures to Portland clinker and some gypsum in the experiments. All produced cement samples were tested for Blaine fineness, xrf elemental analysis and 2, 7 and 28 days compressive strength tests. Test results of grinding aids of MEG and boron compounds mixture showed no increase in any age of compressive strengths performances related to MEG used itself. However, with the addition of boron compounds to DEG increased grinding aid performance at all ages (2, 7 and 28 days). Possible reasons for this increase could be borate esters formed with DEG and boric acid in a basic medium.

Objective:Corona Virus Disease-2019(COVID-19)has been among the major infectious events of the *** today’s literature where COVID-19 and host factor effects are frequently examined,we aimed to examine another factor:Circadian Clock Protein PERIOD 3(PER3).There is a significant correlation between PER3 gene polymorphism and circadian rhythm disturbances and immune system ***:In our study,we recruited 200 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in our hospital between April-June 2020,and 100 volunteers without known comorbidities to create a healthy control *** comparing the initial gene polymorphisms of the patients with healthy controls,three separate clinical subgroups were *** polymorphism distribution and statistical significance were examined in the formed patient ***:No significant difference was found between the patient group and the healthy controls(P>0.05,for all).When patients were divided into two separate clinical subgroups as exitus/alive according to their last condition during their 28-day follow-up,the 4R/5R genotype was significantly more common in patients with a mortal course(P=0.007).The PER34R75R genotype was found at a significantly higher rate in the group of patients with the need for intensive care(P=0.034).Conclusion:The 4R/5R genotype may be associated with the need for intensive care and mortality in COVID-19 *** important results will be a guide for future studies.
