Botryosphaeria panicle and shoot blight was considered as one of the single greatest threats to the California pistachio industry in the last two decades.A large number of fungi with typical morphological characteristics of Botryosphaeriaceae and Diaporthe were collected from pistachios in 18 counties in California and deposited in our culture *** aims of this study were to identify these isolates,recognize the distribution of these fungal species and test their pathogenicity to pistachio cultivars.A total of 304 California isolates were identified based on comparisons of DNA sequence data of the ITs,TEF-1α and β-tubulin gene regions,and combined with the morphological features of the cultures and *** results showed that California isolates represent eight species of Botryosphaeriaceae and one species of *** species include Botryosphaeria dothidea,Diplodia seriata,Dothiorella iberica,***,Lasiodiplodia citricola,***,Neofusicoccum mediterraneum,*** and Diaporthe *** the Botryosphaeriaceae,86% of the isolates were identified as ***,which distributed in all the sampled *** pistachio trees,in addition to isolates from California,*** from Arizona,*** from Australia,***,*** and *** from Greece were also *** of the California fungi on pistachio cultivars,Kerman(female)and peters(male),using a mycelium plug and conidial suspension inoculation methods showed that all these species are pathogenic to the two tested pistachio cultivars,with ***,*** being the most pathogenic species,followed by *** study represents the first comprehensive work on the species identification,distribution and pathogenicity of Botryosphaeriaceae and Diaporthe on pistachio in California.

Choledochal cysts(CCs)are rare bile duct dilatations,intra-and/or extrahepatic,and have higher prevalence in the Asian population compared to Western *** of the current literature on CC disease originates from Asia where these entities are most *** are thought to arise from an anomalous pancreaticobiliary junction,which are congenital anomalies between pancreatic and bile *** similarities in presentation between Eastern and Western patients exist such as female predominance,however,contemporary studies suggest that Asian patients may be more symptomatic on *** though CC disease presents with an increased malignant risk reported to be more than 10%after the second decade of life in Asian patients,this risk may be overstated in Western *** this difference in cancer risk,management guidelines for all patients with CC are based predominantly on observations reported from Asia where it is recommended that all CCs should be excised out of concern for the presence or development of biliary tract cancer.

Aims How species respond to climate change at local scales will depend on how edaphic and biological characteristics interact with species physiological limits and traits such as *** seeders,those species that depend on fire for recruitment,have few and epi-sodic opportunities to track a changing climate *** such cases,long-distance seed dispersal will be necessary to take advan-tage of rare recruitment *** examine recruitment patterns and seedling growth below,at and above the timberline of an obligate-seeding Australian montane forest tree(Eucalyptus delegatensis)after stand-replacing fire,and place these changes in the context of regional *** We use two methods to detect whether *** can estab-lish and persist above the timberline after stand-replacing wildfire in montane forests in south-east ***,we examine estab-lishment patterns by using belt transects at six sites to quantify how changes in post-fire recruit density with increasing distance above the timberline seven years ***,to determine whether dispersal or physiological constraints determine post-fire establish-ment patterns,we transplanted seedlings and saplings into bare ground above(100 m elevation),at,and below(50 m elevation)timberline 18-months after *** monitored seedling growth and survival for one growing *** Findings There was minimal upslope migration of the species after fire with most saplings observed near seed-bearing timberline trees,with only occasional outpost *** seedlings and saplings sur-vived equally well across one growing season when planted above existing timberlines,relative to saplings at or below the *** and sapling growth rates also did not differ across these location,although seedlings grew at much faster rates than *** findings suggest that upslope growing season conditions are unlikely to limit initial range expansion of trees aft

Luminescence of Er^(3+) in Oxyfluoride Transparent Glass-Ceramics

Erbium doped silicate, germanate, and tellurium-germanate oxyfluoride glasses were prepared in a bulk form. Through appropriate heat treatment of the as-prepared glasses, transparent glass-ceramics （TGCs） were obtained with the formation of β-pbF2：Er^3＋ nanocrystals in the glass matrix were confirmed by X-ray ***-defined diffraction peaks were observed in the samples after heat-treatment. The average crystal diameter of these precipitated crystals from full-width at half-maximum （FWHM） of the diffraction peak was estimated to be between 8 and 13 nm. Optical absorption, photoluminescence, and upconversion luminescence were measured on as-prepared glass and glass-ceramics. Luminescence spectra in the TGC samples revealed well-resolved, sharp stark-splitting peaks, which indicates that a majority of Er^3＋ ions has been incorporated into the crystalline phase of the nanocrystals. The intensity of the visible and near infrared luminescence mostly increases in TsG compared to that in the as-prepared glass. In 1.53 μm absorption and emission bands, the maximum absorption peak is blue-shifted from 1531 to 1507 nm, whereas the maximum emission peak is redshifted from 1535 to 1543 nm in TGC, as compared with that in glass. The bandwidth at half-maximum （BWHM） of the emission band is significantly broader in TGC than in glass, which is beneficial to the erbium-doped fiber amplifier （EDFA）. Upconversion luminescence was measured using 800 nm near-infrared light excitation. Drastically increased upconversion 1 was observed from the TGC as compared to that from their corresponding as-prepared glasses. In addition to a strong green emission centered at 545 nm because of ^4s3/2→^4I15/2 transition and a weaker red emission centered at 662 nm because of ^4F9/2→^4I15/2 transition, generally seen from the Er^3＋ doped glasses, two violet emissions centered at 410 nm because of ^2H9/2→^4I15/2 transition and centered at 379 nm because of ^4G11/2→^4I15/2 transition were also o

Interactions between water and carbon dynamics underlie drought-related tree *** whole-tree water relations have been shown to play a key role in the response to and recovery from drought,the role of nonstructural carbohydrates(NsC) and how their storage and allocation changes surrounding drought events deserves further attention and is critical for understanding tree ***,we quantified in situ NsC responses of temperate forest trees to the 2016 drought in the northeastern United *** and starch concentrations were measured in the stemwood of five tree species from 2014 to 2019,which allowed us to monitor NsCs in relation to climatic conditions before,during,and after the natural *** found that immediately following the drought,measured stemwood NsC concentrations ***,NsC concentrations rebounded quickly within three ***,trees allocated proportionally more to starch than to sugars following the 2016 *** winter 2017,starch comprised 45% of total stemwood stores,whereas starch made up only 1-2% in other ***,we modeled and assessed the climatic drivers of total NsC concentrations in the *** in total NsC concentrations was significantly predicted by the previous year’s temperature,precipitation,and standardized precipitation-evapotranspiration index(spEI),with stemwood concentrations decreasing following hotter,drier periods and increasing following cooler,wetter ***,our work provides insight into the climatic drivers of NsC storage and highlights the important role that a tree’s carbon economy may play in its response and recovery to environmental stress.

This paper develops a moderated mediation model in which the interactive effects of food traceability and environmental dynamism on firm performance are mediated by the core capabilities(operating capabilities and marketing capabilities)in food supply chain context, by invoking the indirect view of organizational learning theory. Our hypotheses were tested using hierarchical regression and bootstrapping methods with a sample of 216 food manufacturing firms in China, and a survey-based, two-informant design was used to collect data. The results revealed that operating and marketing capabilities fully mediate the food traceability-performance link. In addition, environmental dynamism positively moderates the food traceability-core capabilities link. Moreover, it is found that operating and marketing capabilities transform the interactive impacts of environmental dynamism and food traceability into firm performance. Our study offers a fine-grained picture of the essential food traceability-performance link by revealing for the first time that there is an interactive impacts of food traceability and environmental dynamism on firm performance via core capabilities.

The development of fully solution-processed,biodegradable piezoelectrics is a critical step in the development of green electronics towards the worldwide reduction of harmful electronic ***,recent printing processes for piezoelectrics are hindered by the high sintering temperatures required for conventional perovskite fabrication ***,a process was developed to manufacture lead-free printed piezoelectric devices at low temperatures to enable integration with eco-friendly substrates and electrodes.A printable ink was developed for screen printing potassium niobate(KNbO3)piezoelectric layers in microns of thickness at a maximum processing temperature of 120℃ with high *** parallel plate capacitor and cantilever devices were designed and manufactured to assess the quality of this ink and evaluate its physical,dielectric,and piezoelectric characteristics;including a comparison of behaviour between conventional silicon and biodegradable paper *** printed layers were 10.7–11.2μm thick,with acceptable surface roughness values in the range of 0.4-1.1μ*** relative permittivity of the piezoelectric layer was *** poling parameters were optimised for the piezoelectric response,with an average longitudinal piezoelectric coefficient for samples printed on paper substrates measured as d33,eff,paper=13.57±2.84 pC/N;the largest measured value was 18.37 pC/N on paper *** approach to printable biodegradable piezoelectrics opens the way forward for fully solution-processed green piezoelectric devices.
