Us.n. two infrared pulsed lasers systems,a picosecond solid-state nd:YAG laser with tuneable repetition rate(400 kHz-1 MHz)working in the burst mode of a multi-pulse train and a femtosecond Ti:sapphire laser amplifier with tuneable pulse duration in the range of tens of femtoseconds up to tens of picoseconds,working in s.n.le-shot mode(TEWALAss facility from CETAL-nILPRP),we have investigated the optimal laser parameters for kinetic energy transfer to a titanium target for laser-thrust *** the s.n.le-pulse regime,we controlled the power density by changing both the duration and pulse *** the multi-pulse regime,the train’s.n.mber of pulses(burst length)and the pulse energy variation were *** propagation and photon reflection-based models were used to simulate the obtained experimental *** the s.n.le-pulse regime,optimal kinetic energy transfer was obtained for power densities of about 500 times the ablation threshold corresponding to the specific laser pulse *** multi-pulse regimes,the optimal number of pulses per train increases with the train frequency and decreases with the pulse power *** ideal energy transfer efficiency resulting from our experiments and simulations is close to about 0.0015%.

The pres.n. investigation was aimed to understand the physiological and biochemical basis of water-deficit stress tolerance in pearl millet [Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.] hybrid ICMH 356 and its parents ICMR 356 (♂) and ICMB 88004 (♀) in response to and recovery from drought stress and also to comprehend crop adaptation under dryland conditions. A field experiment was conducted in a split plot design with moisture levels as the main plot and genotypes as the sub plots. A comparative analysis of hybrid and parents under well-watered and water-deficit stress conditions revealed that the hybrid was superior over the parents in terms of leaf water relations, excised leaf water retention capacity, accumulation of compatible solutes, photos.n.hesis, membrane stability index and antioxidative enzyme viz., superoxide dismutase (sOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione reductase (GR), ascorbate peroxidase (APX) and guaiacol peroxidase (GPOX) activities. AnOVA for these parameters was also found to be significant for genotypes, treatments and their interactions at 0.01% level. Maintenance of superiority in terms of these physiological and biochemical parameters coupled with better recovery ability upon stress relief are crucial physiological mechanisms contributing to water deficit stress tolerance in pearl millet. simple correlation coefficient analysis revealed significant positive association of yield at 0.01% level with relative water content, leaf water potential, stomatal conductance, photos.n.hesis, proline, total soluble sugars, free amino acids, membrane stability index, leaf area index and total biomass, while a significant negative association with solute potential and malondialdehyde content, under water-deficit stress clearly indicated that such relationships can be positively attributed to drought tolerance.

Objective: To check the effectiveness of tourniquet in the prevention of haemorrhage during myomectomies at the University Hospital of Brazzaville. Patients and methods: Analytical cross-sectional study, conducted at the University Hospital of Brazzaville from June 1, 2014 to June 30, 2016. Recruitment was performed by randomly matching each case of myomectomy performed us.n. a tourniquet with two cases of myomectomy without tourniquet (50 cases vs 100 witnesses). We used as a tourniquet, the surgical glove knotted and tightened sufficiently at the level of the isthmus of the uterus to temporarily occlude the uterine arteries to ensure haemostasis lasting no more than one hour. Results: The mean age of the patients was similar in both groups (36, 1 ± 2.2 years vs 36.2 ± 1.9 years, P > 0.05). Menorrhagia was the most common indication of myomectomy in both groups (76% vs. 78% P > 0.05). The mean haemoglobin level of the patients before the myomectomies was 9.03 ± 1.10 g/dl vs 9, 75 ± 1.29 g/dl;P > 0.05. Intraoperative uterine features were similar in size (18 weeks gestation, 14 - 24) and number of myomas (5 vs 4, P > 0.05) in both groups. Polymyomectomy was more common in both groups (76% vs 73%, P > 0.05). Blood loss was reduced in the tourniquet group (90.5 ± 4.6 ml vs 200.4 ± 5.6 ml;P 0.05), as well as the use of blood transfusion (8% vs 50%, P 0.05). Use of the number of sutures was reduced in the group with tourniquet (3 ± 0.2 vs 6 ± 0.2 P 0.05). The duration of the procedure was shorter in the group with tourniquet (51.5 ± 4 min vs 83 ± 7 min, P 0.05). Postoperative mean haemoglobin of patients was.n. different between the two groups (9.4 ± 0.7 g/dl vs 9.2 ± 0.5, P > 0.05). The overall cost of management was reduced in the group with tourniquet (190,680 ± 1450 F CFA vs 256,800 ± 2350 FCFA;P 0.05). 随着纳米材料科学的发展,材料的晶粒尺寸是科研工作者在研发过程中十分重要的数据。Topas和Eva是两种常用的X-射线衍射数据分析软件,都可以进行晶粒尺寸的计算。选取6种具有代表性的高级晶族和中级晶族纳米材料,通过X-射线衍射仪测试获得衍射谱,分别应用两种软件对6种材料晶粒尺寸进行计算,发现其结果存在一定差异。为了说明计算结果存在差异的原因,本文详细介绍了两种软件计算晶粒尺寸的方法和步骤,并通过比较说明由于两种软件计算方法不同是产生计算结果差异的直接原因,这对于材料科学工作者在进行相关计算时提供了较好的借鉴以及理论依据。

spectral, temporal and polarization characteristics of spontaneous and stimulated luminescence of Al0.5Ga0.5n/A1n structures grown by molecular beam epitaxy were studied at the optical pulsed pumping with 2 = 266 nm. samples with a high degree of silicon doping were investigated. The vast majority of radiation falls on transitions within the band gap between the levels of defects. As a result, the radiation band embracing the whole visible range of more than 300 THz is observed in both spontaneous radiation and induced luminescence. In spon- taneous radiation the band has a smooth spectral intensity distribution over the wavelengths, whereas induced radi- ation has its sharp peaks corresponding to the mode structure of the planar waveguide. The measured gain of the active medium is g ≈ 70 cm 1 for a weak signal.

Meloxicam(MLX) is an anti-inflammatory drug susceptible to variations and crystalline transitions. In compounding pharmacies, the complete crystallographic evaluation of the raw material is.n.t a routine procedure. We performed a complete crystallographic characterization of aleatory raw MLX samples from compounding pharmacies. X-ray diffraction indicated the pres.n.e of two crystalline forms in one sample. DsC experiments suggested that crystallization, or a crystal transition, occurred differently between samples. The FTIR and ~1H nMR spectra showed characteristic assignments.^(13)C solid-state nMR spectroscopy indicated the pres.n.e of more than one phase in a sample from pharmacy B. The Hirshfeld surface analysis, with electrostatic potential projection, allowed complete assignment of the UV spectra in ethanol solution. The polymorph I of meloxicam was more active than polymorph III in an experimental model of acute inflammation in mice. Our results highlighted the need for complete crystallographic characterization and the separation of freely used raw materials in compounding pharmacies,as a routine procedure, to ensure the desired dose/effect.
