Prospects of gluino searches in multi-lepton channels in light of the ongoing LHC RUN-Ⅲ

This study investigates the prospect of discovering strongly interacting gluinos in different multi-lepton channels with lepton multiplicities greater than or equal to 2 at LHC RUN-Ⅲ,considering several pMssM *** effectiveness of the multivariate analysis(MVA) method with the boosted decision tree(BDT) algorithm is explored to obtain a better significance for different *** results are obtained for the 3-lepton channels,indicating that the use of MVA methods can improve the sensitivity of the search for gluinos at LHC RUN-Ⅲ.The study probes the multi-lepton signatures arising from gluinos via intermediate eweakinos and sleptons at an early stage of the LHC RUN-Ⅲ.The heavier eweakinos can give rise to three or four lepton signals,in which the squark hierarchy between the L and R types plays a crucial *** study considers two sets of benchmark points that satisfy all the collider constraints obtained from the LHC RUN-Ⅱ ***,these sets of benchmark points are mostly consistent with WMAP/PLANCK data and the muon(g-2) *** corresponding results from the MVA technique demonstrate that,even for an integrated luminosity of 270 fb-1,the 5 σ discovery prospect of3l+jets+ETfor Mg=1.8 TeV in the wino type model is *** study also presents various other models that may emerge at the early stage of LHC RUN-Ⅲ.Wino type models in the scenario where left squarks are light and right squarks are heavy exhibit the best prospect of discovering gluinos in multi-lepton channels in the LHC RUN-Ⅲ *** findings of this study provide crucial insights into the potential discovery of gluinos in multi-lepton channels.

Bound states in the continuum （BICs） are perfectly localized resonances despite embedding in the continuum ***,an isolated BIC is very sensitive to the structure ***,we report merging acoustic BICs in a single open resonator,robust against the structure *** find that both symmetry-protected BIC and Friedrich-Wintgen BIC are sustained in a single coupled waveguide-resonator *** varying the height and length of the resonator,these two BICs move toward each other and merge into a single one at a critical *** to an individual BIC,the merged BIC is robust against fabrication error because its Q-factor is proportional to ΔL-4,whereΔL embodies the structure *** essence of this extraordinary phenomenon is perfectly explained by the two-and three-level approximations of the effective nonHermitian ***,we present direct experimental demonstrations of the moving and merging of BICs in a coupled 3D waveguide-resonator,which are evidenced by the vanishing of the linewidth of Fano resonance in the transmission *** results may find exciting applications in designing high-quality acoustic sources,sensors and filters.

The total number of infections(epidemic size),and the time needed for the infection to die out(epidemic duration),represent two of the main indicators for the measuring gravity of infectious disease epidemics in humans.A few attempts have been made to address the problem of controlling both the epidemic size and duration simultaneously from a theoretical point of view,by primarily using the Optimal control *** this study,a multi-objective optimal control problem has been simulated to gauge the success of the lockdowns in *** accomplish this objective,a system dynamics modeling was used to simulate the susceptible–Infected–Quarantined–Removed epidemic model.A set of sensitivity experiments for different scenarios allows illustrating the model’s behavior and its value for decision-makers regarding the lockdown *** simulation of the model presents various scenarios,wherein the cost–benefit analysis of lockdown was ***,the lockdown success intensity was defined,post which,the findings indicate that the states of Uttar Pradesh,Kerala,Panjab,Jammu,Kashmir,Haryana,and Bihar have achieved more than 90%lockdown success ***,it was observed that these states could effectively implement lockdowns by strictly enforcing social distancing measures during the early stages of the virus spread,which in turn resulted in the high success rate of lockdowns.

ZnO nanorods in the form of thin films were synthesized by a facile chemical route and the effect of annealing temperature on the structure and sensitivity of such ZnO-based sensors was studied in detail towards methane *** analyses of such films were carried out by scanning electron microscopy,whereas,the crystalline structure and phase purity of the films were analysed by X-ray diffraction *** films were observed to display a gradual change in their morphology from granular to dense nanorods and each of them was used to fabricate methane sensor *** were also tested for temperature-dependent methane-sensing capability with varying methane *** optimized sensor exhibited highest gas response of ＊80% at 250 °C with significantly low response and recovery time.

There has been more than 75%rise in the number of extreme weather events such as drought and flood during 2000-2019 compared to 1980-1999 due to the adverse effects of climate change,causing significant deterioration of the soil and water ***,the growing human population has been exerting pressure on available water and soil resources due to overuse or unplanned *** greenhouse gas emissions have intensified,the fertility of agricultural soils has declined globally due to the exposure of soils to frequent flooding,desertification,and salinization(resulting from extreme weather events).The current review aims to give an overview of damages caused to the soil-plant system by extreme weather events and provide a perspective on how biochar can repair the damaged *** is known to improve soil fertility,increase crop productivity and mitigate greenhouse gas emissions via sustainable recycling of *** properties of biochar such as alkaline pH,high cation exchange capacity,abundant surface functional groups,remarkable surface area,adequate porosity,excellent water holding capacity,and sufficient nutrient retention capacity can help repair the adverse effects of extreme weather events in the soil-plant *** paper recommends some cautious future approaches that can propel biochar’s use in improving the soil-plant systems and promoting sustainable functioning of extreme weather-affected areas via mitigation of the adverse effects.

Leaching of nickel and cobalt from two physical grades （s1, 125-190 μm, coarser and s3, 53-75 μm, finer） of chromite overburden was achieved by treating the overburden （2% pulp density） with 21-d culture filtrate of an Aspergillus niger strain grown in sucrose medium. Metal dissolution increases with ore roasting at 600℃ and decreasing particle size due to the alteration of microstructural properties involving the conversion of goethite to hematite and the increase in surface area and porosity as evident from X-ray diffraction （XRD）, thermogravimetry-differential thermal analysis （DT- TGA）, and field emission scanning electron microscopy （FEsEM）. About 65% Ni and 59% Co were recovered from the roasted s3 ore employing bioleaching against 26.87% Ni and 31.3% Co using an equivalent amount of synthetic oxalic acid under identical conditions. The results suggest that other fungal metabolites in the culture filtrate played a positive role in the bioleaching process, making it an efficient green approach in Ni and Co recovery from lateritic chromite overburden.

Background:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the most common cause of cancer-related death in saudi *** study aimed to investigate the patterns of HCC and the effect of TNM staging,Alfa-fetoprotein(AFP),and Child-Turcotte Pugh(CTP)on patients’overall survival(Os).Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 43 HCC patients at a single oncology center in saudi Arabia from 2015 to *** patients had to fulfill one of the following criteria:(a)a liver lesion reported as definitive HCC on dynamic imaging and/or(b)a biopsy-confirmed ***:The mean patient age of all HCC cases was 66.8 with a male-to-female ratio of 3.3:*** patients were stratified into two groups:viral HCC(n=22,51%)and non-viral HCC(n=21,49%).Among viral-HCC patients,55%were due to HBV and 45%due to *** was diagnosed in 79%of *** and sex did not significantly statistically differ in Os among viral and non-viral HCC patients(p-value>0.05).About 65%of patients had tumor size>5 cm during the diagnosis,with a significant statistical difference in Os(p-value=0.027).AFP was>400 ng/ml in 45%of the *** was a statistically significant difference in the Os in terms of AFP levels(p-value=0.021).A statistically significant difference was also observed between the CTP score and Os(p-value=0.02).CTP class B had the longest *** was the most common treatment provided to HCC patients followed by sorafenib *** was a significant statistical difference in Os among viral and non-viral HCC patients(p-value=0.008).Conclusions:The most common predictors for Os were the underlying cause of HCC,AFP,and tumor *** having non-viral etiology,a tumor size>5 cm,an AFP>400 ng/mL,and a CTP score class C were all negatively associated with Os.
