Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by cognitive impairments in the initial stage, which lead to severe cognitive dysfunction in the later stage. Action observation therapy (AOT) is a multisensory cognitive rehabilitation technique where the patient initially observes the actions and then tries to perform. The study aimed to examine the impact of AOT along with usual physiotherapy interventions to reduce depression, improve cognition and balance of a patient with AD. A 67 years old patient with AD was selected for this study because the patient has been suffering from depression, dementia, and physical dysfunction along with some other health conditions like diabetes and hypertension. Before starting intervention, a baseline assessment was done through the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) tool, the Mini-Cog scale, and the Berg Balance scale (BBs). The patient received 12 sessions of AOT along with usual physiotherapy interventions thrice a week for four weeks, which included 45 minutes of each session. After four weeks of intervention, the patient demonstrated significant improvement in depression, cognition, and balance, whereas the BDI score declined from moderate 21/63 to mild 15/63 level of depression. The Mini-Cog score improved from 2/5 to 4/5, and the BBs score increased from 18/56 to 37/56. It is concluded that AOT along with usual physiotherapy intervention helps to reduce depression, improve cognition and balance of people with AD.

Background:Many kinds of orchids have significant health benefits although ade-quate research on their biological functions is yet to be carried *** study inves-tigated the paracetamol-induced liver damage-protecting effect of epiphytic Aerides odorata methanol extract(AODE).Methods:The protective effects of AODE were studied by analyzing its effect on liver function parameters,messenger RNA(mRNA)expression,and tissue histopatho-logical *** results were confirmed by ligand-receptor interaction of molecular docking and multitarget interaction of network pharmacological ***:AODE significantly(pse-dependent increase in acid phosphatase,aspartate aminotransferase,alanine aminotransferase,alkaline phos-phatase,γ-glutamyl transferase,lactate dehydrogenase,and total bilirubin compared to the reference drug *** level decreased,and the antioxidant genes catalase(CAT),superoxide dismutase(sOD),β-actin,paraoxonase-1(PON1),and phosphofructokinase-1(PFK-1)were upregulated in AODE-treated paracetamol-intoxicated rats.A total of 376 compounds comprising phenols and flavonoids were identified using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight-mass spectrometry(UPLC-qTOF-Ms).The online toxicity assessment using swissADME and admetsAR exhibited drug-like,nontoxic,and potential pharmaco-logical ***,in silico analysis showed that isoacteoside,one of the identified compounds,exhibited the best docking score(−11.42)with the liver pro-tein human pituitary adenylate cyclase-1(Protein Data Bank ID:3N94).Furthermore,network pharmacology analysis identified the top 10 hub genes,namely AKT1(protein kinase B),CTNNB1(catenin beta-1),sRC(proto-oncogene c-src),TNF(tumor necrosis factor),EGFR(epidermal growth factor receptor),HsP90AA1(heat shock protein 90α),MAPK3(mitogen-activated protein kinase 3),sTAT3(signal transducer and activator of transcription 3),CAsP3(caspase protein),

Does fishing venture matter for reducing post-harvest loss?Empirical evidence from Bangladesh

The study was conducted to estimate the post-harvest loss(PHL)of inland capture fisheries in Bangladesh based on the fishing venture i.e.,sole proprietorship,partnership and cooperatives using Questionnaire Loss Assessment Method(QLAM).A total of 1339 fishermen were selected using stratified random sampling where 792,485,and 62 were involved in the sole proprietorship,partnership,and cooperatives types of fishing venture *** data were collected from thirty-nine districts across six divisions through the direct interview method covering 92 fish *** results indicated that Ashar(June-July)to Agrahayon(November-December)was the peak fishing period for every fishing *** study revealed that the high volumes of fishes were caught from haor for partnership and cooperatives while river was for sole *** study accounted lower PHL for cooperatives than that of sole proprietorship and partnership and found significance differences among them from Tukey’s pairwise *** estimated PHL was higher for Puti(Puntius chola)in sole proprietorship and partnership whereas Tengra(Gagata cenia)in cooperatives *** study suggests to expand the cooperatives fishing ventures widely in Bangladesh where the predominant factors(i.e.,longer harvesting duration,delaying in marketing the fishes and temperature,excess supply,and etc.)of causing PHL in this venture should be taken under consideration.

Ocean productivity is the foundation of marine food web,which continuously removes atmospheric carbon dioxide and supports life at sea and on ***-temporal variability of net primary productivity(NPP),sea surface temperature(ssT),sea surface salinity(sss),mixed layer depth(MLD),and euphotic zone depth(EZD) in the northern B ay of Bengal(BoB) during three monsoon seasons were examined in this study based on remote sensing data for the period 2005 to *** compare the NPP distribution between the coastal zones and open BoB,the study area was divided into five zones(Z1-Z5).Results suggest that most productive zones Z2 and Zl are located at the head bay area and are directly influenced by freshwater discharge together with riverine sediment and nutrient *** Z1-Z5,the NPP ranges from 5 315.38 mg/(m^(2)·d) to 346.7 mg/(m^(2)·d)(carbon,since then the same).The highest monthly average NPP of 5 315.38 mg/(m^(2)·d) in February and 5 039.36 mg/(m^(2)·d) in June were observed from Z2,while the lowest monthly average of 346.72 mg/(m^(2)·d) was observed in March from Z4,which is an oceanic *** values vary from 6-154 m for the study area,and it has an inverse correlation with NPP *** is deeper during the summer season and shallower during the wintertime,with a corresponding increase in *** the year,monthly ssT shows slight fluctuation for the entire study area,and statistical analysis shows a significant correlation among NPP,and EZD,overall positive between NPP and MLD,whereas no significant correlation among sss,and ssT for the northern ***-term trends in ssT and productivity were significantly po sitive in head bay zones but negatively productive in the open *** findings in this study on the distribution of NPP,ssT,sss,MLD,and EZD and their seasonal variability in five different zones of BoB can be used to further improve the management of marine resources and overall environmental condition in response to clim

In this paper,the Caputo fractional derivative is assumed to be the prey-predator *** order to create Caputo fractional differential equations for the prey-predator model,a discretization process is first *** fixed points of the model are categorized *** identify requirements for the fixed points of the suggested prey-predator model's local asymptotic *** demonstrate analytically that,under specific parametric conditions,a fractional order prey-predator model supports both a Neimark-sacker(Ns)bifurcation and a Flip *** present evidence for Ns and Flip bifurcations using central manifold and bifurcation *** parameter values and the initial conditions have been found to have a profound impact on the dynamical behavior of the fractional order prey-predator *** the bifurcation parameter is increased,the system displays chaotic *** simulations are shown to demonstrate chaotic behaviors like bifurcations,phase portraits,invariant closed cycles,and attractive chaotic sets in addition to validating analytical *** suggested prey-predator dynamical system's chaotic behavior will be controlled by the OGY and hybrid control methodology,which will also visualize the chaotic state for various biological parameters.
